Desiree shook her head.
"It wasn't Deryck!" She exclaimed.
"It... it was my landlord..." She added quietly, not sure how he would take that. She knew that it was horrible, at the very least.
"........what." Jaden said flatly.
"Oh...." he said.
"Why, that little..." he snarled, growling a little and gnashing his teeth together.
"All right, listen." he then said.
"Do you want to go to Kalin and Rene's?" he asked.
"Or do you want me to bring any of them here?" he asked further.
"Or is there ANYTHING I can do to help?"
"Oh...." he said.

Desiree shook her head.
"I... no... No... please don't... I ... I don't want to bring more people into this..." She said after a moment.
"Can... can I just stay with you for awhile? Until I find another place... at the very least...?" She then asked before pausing.

"Of course!" Jaden replied.
"Stay as long as you like." he told her. "As long as you want." he said further.
"....wait..." he then muttered.
"Where's Silver?" he asked.
"I assume... well, somewhere on your person?" he asked further.
He really wanted that to be the case. He REALLY didn't want Desiree to have lost that kitten that she had bonded with.

Desiree was silent for a moment before nodding and opening the coat she had, to reveal the little kitty (who turned out to be a runt) that looked to be about as cold as Desiree looked to be. She had a coat, and had bundled Silver up, but ... that seemed to be barely enough to keep the pair of them warm enough to survive until Jaden had returned home. In that blizzard, it was almost amazing that they had both survived so far. Chances are they were keeping both a bit warmer, too.
"I have him." She said after a moment, a soft smile on her face.
Jaden just nodded.
"All right." he said.
"Good." he said further.
"Come on." he told her.
"Let's get you both warmed up and fed and such." he continued.
"What do you want? Coffee? Tea? Hot chocolate?" he asked.
"All right." he said.
"Good." he said further.
"Come on." he told her.

"Hot chocolate would be lovely." Desiree answered after a seccond, with a soft smile.
"And I know we will warm up." She added, snuggling the shivering kitty.
"Just gonna take time. Do you happen to have a heated pad?" She asked after a moment.
"Because that can help Silver."
Jaden nodded.
"I do." he replied.
"I'll go warm it up now." he told her.
"And make you the hot chocolate." he continued.
"Go and relax on the couch, watch some TV." he suggested.
"I do." he replied.

"All right, thank you Jaden." Desiree said after a moment before heading toward the couch and sitting down carefully, making sure to not jostle the kitty too much.
She made sure to keep it over her chest too, so as to make sure that the ktity was getting as much of her heat as was possible. She also grabbed the blanket that was at the end and covered them up with it, to try and warm 'em both up more.
The kitten was still shivering when she put the blanket over it, but after about a minute, it seemed like the shivering stopped, and it started to curl up some, trying to get comfortable.
"Here." Jaden said, handing her a pad as he stepped into the room.
"The hot chocolate's not ready yet." he told her.
"But this should help Silver." he went on.
"Also, you want something to eat?"' he asked.
"I have some leftover sushi in the fridge I was gonna eat when I got back, but if you want it, you're more than welcome to it."
"Here." Jaden said, handing her a pad as he stepped into the room.
"The hot chocolate's not ready yet." he told her.
"But this should help Silver." he went on.
"Also, you want something to eat?"' he asked.

Desiree was silent for a moment as she accepted the pad and placed it underneath the blanket, near the kitty so he knew that he could snuggle up with it if he wanted. Even if he didn't, it was close enough that she was sure it would help warm him up regardless. At least that was the hope, anyway.\
":Sushi? I'll pass, thank you." She answered honestly, with a soft smile.
"Seafood and I don't get along, remember."
"......" Jaden was silent, before slapping his forehead.
"Right. Duh!" he said.
"THAT was a brain fart on my part..." he muttered.

"Even if just to snack on, or go with the hot chocolate?" he asked further.
And it was at that point, Desiree felt Silver slowly crawl away from where he was, and settle down on the pad to warm up, his soft purring filling the immediate area around her.
"Right. Duh!" he said.
"THAT was a brain fart on my part..." he muttered.
"You want anything else to eat?" he asked.
"Even if just to snack on, or go with the hot chocolate?" he asked further.
And it was at that point, Desiree felt Silver slowly crawl away from where he was, and settle down on the pad to warm up, his soft purring filling the immediate area around her.

"I'm good for the moment." She answered with a smile.
"And I think Silver is grateful too."

He then disappeared back into the kitchen... and a minute later, returned with hot chocolate, dotted with plenty of miniature marshmallows.
"Here you go." he told her, handing the mug towards her.
"I'll make sure the spare room is prepared so you can sleep there." he went on.
"There anything you want me to pop on over to your apartment to grab?" he then asked her.
"Good." he replied.
"Back in a moment." he said.
He then disappeared back into the kitchen... and a minute later, returned with hot chocolate, dotted with plenty of miniature marshmallows.
"Here you go." he told her, handing the mug towards her.

"Also.... I really think you should speak with Kalin soon." he said.
"Depending on what he did, and while I know you dislike vigilante justice, legal justice should come to your landlord." he reasoned.
"Of course." he replied.
"I'll go grab them now." he told her.

Jaden narrowed his eyes a bit when she said that.
"Mm." he muttered.

He then made his way back to the kitchen, and Desiree felt a portal form from that area.
Which meant Jaden had gone to get the cat stuff.
Silver then poked his head around, sniffing and smelling the air, which now smelled of chocolate.
"Mm." he muttered.
"Right." he said.

Desiree didn't say anything more before Jaden had left, hadn't really had a chance.
Once he was gone, and Silver was poking his head around, she just chuckled lightly and let him lick some of the hot chocolate off of her finger, mostly because she saw no reason not to.
It was something he thoroughly enjoyed, as well.
