"....I...." Deryck stammered.
"I... I lo... lo... l..." he stuttered further, before growling.
"You know what I mean." he said.
"Here." he then said, digging a thick envelope out of his pocket and throwing it onto her bed.
"Take it." he told her.
"It's all I could manage to muster up." he said further.
"Bye." he finished, as he quickly left her room, shutting the door behind him.

Desiree just smiled softly, not sure what it was that she was supposed to make of that. There was a certain degree of pride though, considering how he had acually been civil with her. It seemed like he wanted to try and move past what had happened, what he'd done.
She hoped she'd see him again, if only just because of the fact that she wanted to give him a chance.
It was a question of whether or not he'd give her the chance to do so.
After he was gone, she checked the envelope, curious as to what was in there.
Inside she found money.
A considerable amount of money.
Around 45 grand, actually.
And there was a note.
You've lost a lot more because of my hacking. This is all I can give back for now.
Just at that point, Jaden returned.
"Hello again." he said, the small of the food filling the room.

You've lost a lot more because of my hacking. This is all I can give back for now.
Just at that point, Jaden returned.
"Hello again." he said, the small of the food filling the room.
Desiree just smiled lightly as she read the note.
I will see you again, Deryck. She thought before looking up to where Jaden was.
"Hey." She said after a moment.
"Smells wonderful."
"Fresh made." Jaden replied.
"There was a bit of a lineup, sorry." he apologized.
"So." he then said.
"What's with the envelope?" he asked.
"Seems like there's a lot of money in it..." he then muttered.
"There was a bit of a lineup, sorry." he apologized.
"So." he then said.
"What's with the envelope?" he asked.
"Seems like there's a lot of money in it..." he then muttered.
Desire just chuckled lightly.
"It's fine." She said.
"I'm patient.' She added with a light smile before sighing.
"And nevermind the envelope." She added, sticking it beneath her pillow.
"It's nothing to worry about for the moment, all right?"
"Uh... all right..." he said.
"Anyway." he muttered.
"Here." he told her, giving her the food and drink.
"Have you given any more thought to moving back in with me?" he asked.
"It'll be nothing for me to cover the rent for you for however long your lease is." he assured her.
"And we all agree it's not safe for you there."
Desiree paused a moment.
"Actually... I think I'm going to stay there." She told him.
"I don't... think It'll be that unsafe for me now." she then said, not knowing what he'd think of that.
"....ah.... what?" Jaden asked.
"Excuse me... what?" he asked her.
"You don't think it will be unsafe?" he asked further.
"Why?" he then inquired.
"You had barely moved in, and were assaulted." he told her, before shaking his head some. "Kalin and Rene aren't gonna like hearing this..." he muttered.
"But... something tells me you have your reasons..." he then added, scratching his chin a bit, and looking into her eyes.
Desiree was silent for a moment.
"Deryck stopped by, Jaden." She told him honestly.
"And he didn't do anything." She added.
"I... I really don't think I have to worry about him anymore."
Jaden's eyes widened when he heard that.
"Wh... what?" he asked.
"He was HERE!?" he exclaimed.
"That's... actually rather worrisome, that he was able to get in here so easily." he admitted.
"But... you don't think you'll need to worry about him anymore?" he then asked.
"Any reason... why?"
"Wh... what?" he asked.
"He was HERE!?" he exclaimed.
"That's... actually rather worrisome, that he was able to get in here so easily." he admitted.
"But... you don't think you'll need to worry about him anymore?" he then asked.
"Any reason... why?"
"He didn't attack me while here." Desiree told him simply and plainly.
"And along with that, he gave me... a good sized chunk of what he had stolen from me over the years." She stated.
"So... It doesn't matter. He didn't do something he had a chance to do. It would have been easiest for him to do it here and now, yet he didn't."
"....." Jaden was silent as he heard that.
"Ah... I..." he stammered.
"Wow." he said.
"He... really did that?" he asked her.
When she nodded, he just sat down and shook his head some.
"....ah.... huh." he mumbled.
"That's... that seems really weird and out of character for him, considering all I've heard of him." he told her.
"Ah... I..." he stammered.
"Wow." he said.
"He... really did that?" he asked her.
When she nodded, he just sat down and shook his head some.

"That's... that seems really weird and out of character for him, considering all I've heard of him." he told her.
"Mother is dead." Desiree stated honestly.
"I'm quite certain that he now does not have anyone kolding his throat in a way that is quite unpleasant." She commented.
"I think that now he is allowed to be free.... well... he can be."
"....hm." Jaden muttered.
"I see." he said.
"Well... fair enough.... I suppose..." he mumbled.
"At least you have some of the money back." he reasoned.
"And today's the day you should be released." he continued.
"So I guess... today's been a day of good news?" he added with a small shrug.
"I see." he said.
"Well... fair enough.... I suppose..." he mumbled.

"And today's the day you should be released." he continued.
"So I guess... today's been a day of good news?" he added with a small shrug.
Desiree nodded after a few seconds.
"That it is." She said with a nod.
"Not all that interested in going home, admittedly." She added.
"I'm willing to bet that the place still needs to be cleaned."
Jaden just smiled.
"Less than you'd think." he told her.
"Rene and I made sure that the place was kept in good condition while you were in here." he said.
"Which is to say, we didn't really move things around or unpack what needed to be unpacked. We didn't know where you'd want that stuff." he then admitted.
"But we made sure the place was clean and tidy, at the very least."
"Less than you'd think." he told her.

Desiree was silent for a moment before smiling softly.
"thank you." She said before pausing a moment.
"Just... thank you." She repeated.
"I don't know what I would do without you, Rene, or Kalin" She added with a sigh.
"Probably be dead in a ditch somewhere, if I were to guess."
"That's... a morbidly frightening thought." Jaden told her.
"Oh, and Silver'll be happy to see you home again." he said.
"He's taken to Kalin, but you can tell he's worried about his Momma." he told her with a light chuckle.
"Unfortunately, we can't bring him to see you.... hospital and allergies and all." he went on.
"But when you're heading back to the apartment, as it seems you intend to do, we'll make sure the kitten is there to greet you." he assured her.

"There is no shame in deterrence. Having a weapon is very different from actually using it." - Ghandi
Desiree just chuckled.
'I'm not surprised. He really took to me." She commented.
"Anyhow, how long am I gonna be stuck here?" She asked, her voice curioous after a few seconds
