Rene had been busy taking care of Desiree, but stopped when he saw Kalin pause.

"I think Silver might still be alive." she added.

With that, he went back to tending to Desiree, and Kalin heard another mewl.

"You do that. I'll... well, I'll take care of everything else." Kalin then said.
"All right?" She asked. After a moment, she made her way over to where she heard the mewl come from and got on her knees, looking underneath.
"Mmhmm." Rene replied.
Just as Kalin got on her knees, she felt Rene vanish, and guessed that he had taken Desiree with him.
And she saw Silver under the chair.
He looked scared, and there were flecks of blood around him.

Kalin sighed lightly before just sitting back and scratching the floor, not sure if it was something that she would need to do more. All she knew, was that she would need to do something, regardless.
"Hey Silver, come here." She said, her voice soft.
The kitten was silent for a moment, before it slowly came out from its hiding place.
Which allowed Kalin to see that the blood was on its claws.
But it was clear that it was shaken.
It slowly made its way closer to Kalin, sniffing at her hand.

Kalin sighed lightly as she noticed how shaken the kitten was. Once it seemed to approve of her, she just softly stroked its fur.
"Hey, it's ok." She said with a soft smile before carefully scooping it up into her arms, ignoring the bit of blood that was getting onto her shirt, and continued to stroke it's fur as she got to her feet. She wanted to clean it off, but knew that she needed to talk to Averie.
That blood needed to be checked. There was a very good chance that they would find out exactly who had been here.
About 2 days later, Desiree was in the hospital, still unconscious.
And Rene and Jaden had both set it upon themselves to be Desiree's bodyguards... but Jaden more so, as Rene still had his medical practice to attend to.
However, both he and Kalin had been called up by Averie, and they were currently at the station... where they had been shown the results of the blood that had been tested off of Silver's claws.

"It was as you suspected." Averie said with a nod.
"Her brother." She added as Kalin looked over the sheet with a more keen eye. She knew a good amount of it all, since she was a lawyer. It was kinda in her job description to know things.
"But I found some interesting information. There was a death certificate I found on file for a Diana McCormick. Any relation?"
Rene's eyes seethed with rage as he saw and heard that the blood belonged to Desiree's brother.
But they then popped open in shock when he heard the next bit of information.
"...D...Diana?" he asked.
"I.... yeah." he said.
"That's... that's Desiree's mother." he told her.
"Well, Desiree and Deryck's mother." he clarified.

"Her file says something about having two children, but doesn't list either of them by name. Apparently those at the hospital she had been admitted to before her death hadn't been able to get in the information out of her before her time was up." She then said.
"Do either of you have any idea as to where her brother could be? I can try and find him. Hell, that's kinda part of my job."
Rene just sighed.
"No." he replied.
"I have some friends that may be able to spot him in the future, but he's slippery." he said.
"It's one of the things he's very good at." he went on.
"....hiding."
"No." he replied.

Averie just shrugged.
"I'll be looking for him, mind." She then said.
"It is part of my jhob, after all." She continued. "So just be careful if you and I cross paths while hunting."
"Mmhmm." Rene responded.
"I hope you find him." he said.
"And HE better hope you find him before me." he went on.
"Because he's gone too far, now." he growled, before looking at Kalin.
"Find anything?" he asked her.
"I hope you find him." he said.

"Here's hping." She then said.
"If only just because that it would mean that he will survive. I do suspect you would... go quite a bit farther than I would." She added before Kalin sighed.
"I ... never knew that he wasn't a druggie." Kalin then commented after a moment.
"I had always believed that he was one tha twould be hopped up on anything and everything. If only just because of the believe that there's no way that he could want to attack Desiree otherwise. The girl is far too sweet."
Rene sighed deeply.
"Clean, huh?" he asked.
"Damn." he said.
"I wish I had an answer." he sighed.
"But there's only one person that does." he went on.
"And odds are we won't be seeing him for a LONG time."

"Damn." he said.
"I wish I had an answer." he sighed.

Kalin nodded.
"That's... about the gist of it. Nothing we can say or do otherwise." She said with a soft sigh.
"Anyway, is that everything?" Averie asked, her voice curious as Kalin handed the information to the woman.
"No, I think that's everything." Kalin said.

"At least we know for sure who attacked her." he sighed.
"Speaking of Desiree, I should probably head back to the hospital." he went on.
"...she's still unconscious." he said quietly.
"Not sure when she'll awaken."

"You do that. I'm going to go speak to Vincent. Maybe he can offer some insight on where the bastard could be hiding." Kalin commented before sighing.
"Not that I really think he'll be able to, but maybe."
"Good luck... and don't tell me if you find him. I'd rather not know." Averie then said quietly, to make sure she wasn't overheard.
