Vanessa was unconscious, but alive. Azari could easily see a few bruises, and plenty of lacerations, but nothing major. She was breathing perfectly fine, thankfully.

Sammy, meanwhile, just held her brother closer, hoping to use her tears as a phoenix did, to heal.

"Please... please be ok, Evan." She said quietly.

Sammy jumped when she heard his exclamation, along with his reaction.

"whoa!" She xclaimed, obviously happy to know that he was all right.

"Wait,... what?" She asked, looking around, to see their cousin having collapsed into a heap on the floor, the sword and scabbard by her, her skin rather ashen instead of the milk chocolate that she naturally had.

"Oh shit." She said quietly before looking o Evan.

'... you think you're ok?" She asked, knowing that someone had to go check Kelly.

Sammy didn't hesitate, just laid her brother down carefully before dashing over to her cousin, hoping to find her alive.

At first, it was impossible to tell. Completely impossible. She was cold to the touch, didn't seem to be breathing, and Sammy had a hell of a time finding a pulse.

But she did. Somehow, and she wasn't entirely sure how, she did manage to find a pulse. Kelly was alive.

"Thank Emelie for her elven DNA." She muttered before looking back to Evan and giving him a simple thumbs up, she hoped that would relay what she was trying to - that Kelly was still alive.

She woke with a start, and a cry of pain. She sat up, carefully, pain in her features, in every part of her. Whatever had happened was not something that she was entirely happy with. She hurt like hell, like she was dying almost, and had no idea what it was that had happened, why she was there, and why it was that she hurt as much as she did.

"The hell!?" She exclaimed as she got to her feet, wincing.

"The council... I'll hopefully get some sort of answers there." she said quietly before using the mana she naturally had, however it wasn't the mana that she expected, to get there. She vanished in a burst of fire, appearing outside of the mana border around the grounds of the council.

The woman, Kyra, was silent for a moment before looking in their direction.

"... Hello, Max." She greeted with a sigh, and a wave.

"At least I know this is the right time, I suppose." She added before approaching him properly.

"Any chance I can get in? I want to know if anyone has any idea what is going on.... why I suddenly find myself alive."

"Thank you." Kyra said with a soft smile.

"I know my way." She added before heading off, making her way across the grounds to the main building, and through the halls within. She got a few odd looks, but that was about it.

A few hours later, a tall blonde stepped up to the door of her brothers, and knocked. This was something pretty serious, and she had to see if her brother knew anything. She hadn't heard anything more than just the one that had arrived at the council, but that didn't mean that there weren't more out there.

So, since she knew he was in contact with one, she figured she'd stop by here to ask.

The woman, Hollie, stepped inside as his invite and sighed when he asked his question.

"That would be because I am." She told him honestly.

"I was just visited by a Kyra Blackstone." She told him, "As in, she was alive, in my office. She even had me slice her hand with something to verify it. That's one reaper that is alive now." She continued.

"And now I am wondering if you can contact Madison at all."

Hollie didn't say anything, just nodded, and Vincent headed off to collect the pendant in question. As she was alone, just sighed, not entirely sure what it was that she was to make of this, and certainly hoping that this wouldn't be as wide spread as she feared it was.

One reaper being resurrected was not ideal, certainly, but it wasn't all that large of an issue.

"... I wonder..." She muttered before just pulling her mobile out of her pocket and sending a text to Rene, hoping he'd get it quicker.

When did the last person at the hospital die?

..... That... well, reasonably sure they're supposed to be dead, and that means taht are problems. Hollie sent before sighing.

"Ohhh... that's not good." She said with a heavy sigh, and a shake of her head.

"Vincent!" She called into the house. She was reasonably certain that he would have had a failure, considering the reply she'd received.

".... I can't say I'm surprised." Hollie commented after a moment or two.

"What do you mean?" Vincent asked her.

"I think Death might be on holiday." Hollie responded before telling him what she'd heard from the text.

"I'm going to go check a few other hospitals, find out if those that were supposed to die recently... did."
