"How... how do I stop it...?" She asked, her voice almost begging him for an answer.

"How... I... I don't want to hurt anyone..."

Vincent was silent again, before crossing his arms over his chest.

"I..." he stammered.

"I don't know." he admitted.

"I don't... know if it's EVER been stopped before." he told her.

"I promise I'll devote every waking moment to try and find an answer, though." he then vowed to her.

Jordan was silent, not sure what to make of that, before just sliding down the wall.

"I...." She started, pulling her knees up, not even processing the pain in her hands for the moment.

"Thanks..." She said quietly. It wasn't hard to tell that she didn't like what he said, specifically the point about not knowing if it could be stopped. She was relieved to know what was going on, though, even if it meant her death was imminent.

".... How long..?" She then asked, not wanting to know, but also knowing that she should.

"...I can't give a specific number." Vincent admitted.

"But... a while." he told her.

"Months, at the very least." he said.

"And I mean that. Months. Plural. Probably at the very VERY least, 3-4." he continued.

"I know that seems alarmingly short... and it actually IS, come to think of it, but it's still time to find a way to stop this."

Vincent was silent for a moment more, and then nodded.

"Of course." he responded.

He thought for a moment, before going and getting a large bowl, and filling it with water, before pulsing some mana into it. He then brought it to the table that was close to her.

"Here." he said.

"Submerge your hands in that every so often. It should help the healing process."

"Thank you.." She said quietly.

Alicja sighed as she took a seat next to the bed that Nate was on, her phone in her hands as she was dicking around with a game on there to pass the time. It was her break, she wasn't needed for work for the moment, so she was just chilling in there, hoping he'd wake... and be sane.

She had no idea what had happened, just knew that the four of them weren't in the best of shapes. At least Nate had been able to speak, but ... nothing really coherent was said. If she said it scared her, that'd be one hell of an understatement.

Suddenly, out of nowhere, Nate sat up, and looked like he was screaming.

But he wasn't screaming.

His eyes were wide and his mouth was agape, as though he were screaming, but all that was coming out was a high-pitched, low-volume noise, that sounded strained and... horrible.

Until his pupils dilated to normal size, and he looked around.

"...o-oh." he stammered.

"I'm... I'm here." he said further, then noticing Alija.

"Hey." he greeted her quietly.

Alicja looked over to nate, concern in her face.

"Hey... you ok?' She asked after a moment or two as she got to her fet and started to check him over, making sure to set her phone down on a nearby table.

"Your vitals look normal. Elevated heart rate, but that's it." She added, checking everything.

Nate was silent for a moment, before sighing heavily.

"...I'm surprised." he said.

"I saw... I saw... things." he told her.

"I saw things... things I wasn't meant to see." he went on, tears forming in his eyes... before he suddenly paused.

"Yet... I somehow feel like I'm able to articulate and visualise them." he commented.

"That's... odd."

"I think it might be a case of you possibly being meant to see it, but maybe later on in life. Not right now." Alicja commented.

"I have no idea, but... so long as you're all right. That's... that's the main thing." she added after a moment or two as she took a seat again. As she did so, she grabbed her phone.

Nate's awake. she sent to Hal, knowing that he wanted updates.

Nate looked over towards her and bit his lip.

"...sorry." he apologised. "Sorry if I... worried you." he clarified, as she received a response.

On my way now. it read.

How is he doing? the next text asked.

Nate then sighed and looked forward some, before it came to him.

"Wait!" he exclaimed.

"What about Zeke!?" he asked. "And Dr. Leblanc? And Hazel? And... and... uh..." he then stammered, trying to recall Jordan's name.

"Jordan!" he recalled.

"How are they?" he asked her.

"Zeke is all right. He's just unconscious from head trauma." She started.

"Dr. LeBlanc is ... well, he'll recover, but it won't be quick." She told him with a sigh. "But he will be all right in the end. As for Ms. McCormick is... missing."

Nate listened to everything she said, taking it all in.

Zeke was good news, Bast was... not as good, but still good, and Jordan's state was... very concerning.

"No..." he said quietly.

"No, no, that can't be-" he started to say, before pausing.

"Wait..." he muttered.

"You didn't mention Hazel." he commented.

"...is... oh lord, what happened to Hazel!?" he exclaimed, sounding VERY concerned now.

"Hazel is unresponsive, catatonic." She told him honestly.

"The theory is that it's lingering from whatever happened." she added. "But we'll need either nephilim to wake and give us that information before we can properly do anything about it."

"Well... I saw all their life forces." he told her. "Obviously." he said.

"But... but this was... different than usual." he continued.

"I... it was like I was actually seeing a glimpse of Heaven and Hell, in the case of Zeke and Dr. LeBlanc." he informed her. "And Hazel... Hazel, I just... I saw chaos. That's the best way to say it." he went on.

"...and Ms. McCormick..." he then said, shuddering a little.

"The only way I can describe it is... it's like I saw... pure, raw power... made manifest."

"Yes." Nate replied.
