Gerard just growled when he heard that.
"So what now?" he asked.
"You going to seal my soul away? Burn me? What are you going to do with me?" he asked further, a small smirk on his face.
"I wouldn't think of wasting my energy any longer on you." Ash responded. "And you're not worth my stealing your soul." he continued.
"So I'm not going to do anything." he said further, much to Gerard's confusion.
"THAT... on the other hand... might." then finished, pointing behind him. Gerard then looked behind him, and saw the same snake from earlier slithering up to him ominously.
"Seems your little friend that you brought in here has a bone to pick with you." Ash added.

Lily just smirked as she saw the snake approaching Gerard.
Serves you right She thought before sighing.
. . . Damn Ash. Lily thought as she just sat against the tree she was at the foot of.
That rune is really freaking strong. combined with the damage I already took... her thoughts trailed off as she sighed, lightly. Meanwhile, the snake had made its way to Gerard and coiled up his still frame. Once at the eye level with him, it stuck its tongue out, seeming to taste him before Gerard could swear he saw a grin on it's face. MOments later, it opened its wide jaws and started to swallow him whole.
The snake was a breed that didn't do that often. It tended to prefer smaller meals over large ones like a person, but it wasn't unknown that it would eat a person if it felt it needed to defend itself, or another creature it had formed a bond with.
Ash raised an eyebrow as he saw the spectacle... and heard Gerard's cries of pain, agony, and everything else. He called and begged for help, until he was completely muffled by the snake's innards, and Ash only released the rune once the snake had completely swallowed him.
".....hm." he muttered.
"Right, you obviously weren't threatened by him." he said to the snake.
"So WHO were you protecting...?" he wondered aloud, as he saw the reptile look in a specific direction.

It was almost instant. When Ash released the rune, Lily let out a breath of relief. That had been suffocating, and not pleasant at all. She could breathe again, that was the important thing.
She didn't say anything, wasn't entirely sure she could considering the pain she felt, before managing to somehow getting to her feet. She used the trees around her to keep standing before making her way out of the vegetation.
"Yo." She said quietly with a wave as she leaned against the tree there.
Ash was silent as he saw Lily come out from where she had been hiding.
"....oh..." he muttered.
"Oh.... ohhhhhh crap..." he mumbled further.
"Uh... right, then." he said.
"Two things." he told her.
"One... you need to see a medic?" he asked.
"And two... you... saw what just happened, did you?" he asked further.

"Yeah... that rune was strong. A LOT stronger than I'd expected. I could barely breathe." She told him honestly.
"But I'm all right." She paused a moment before lauging lightly.
"And yes. I saw all of that." She then told him.
"And damn boy. You'd make Mom proud."

"Because you are the ONLY one that now knows about this." he told her.
"Well... except for Emelie, but she seems to know EVERYTHING, so I don't really count her." he then muttered, shaking his head a little.
"Regardless!" he then said further, as the snake approached Lily, and coiled around her feet.

"Well, I hate to say it, but the only other option is to... destroy it." Ash responded.
"When it bonds with someone, and is then forcibly separated from them, it becomes... well... miserable would be an understatement." he told her.
"We've had to destroy many in the past because people they bonded with died, and they became so aggressive and violent, they were classified as hazards to whatever ecosystem they were in." he continued.
"Besides, your Mom's pretty cool with animals, I'm sure she'll let you keep it." he then assured her, as the snake coiled up around her legs and torso.
"....yup, REALLY taken a shine to ya..." he muttered in confirmation.
"When it bonds with someone, and is then forcibly separated from them, it becomes... well... miserable would be an understatement." he told her.

"It's imprinted onto YOU, so YOU'RE the only one that can safely handle it without it or someone else getting hurt." he said.
"So you'll just be coming with me." he went on.
"We'll head to Cass's office." he said further.
"So come on." he went on, as he made his way to the door.
"Let's let this biome get back to normalcy."

"As I said. I'll come with you." Lily said with a shrug before following him out the room. As she walked though, he noticed that she was a bit slower than he knew her to usually be. She'd taken some damage, and she was able to bite it back, mostly, pretty damned well, but it did show through a bit.
"How far is her office, anyway?" She asked after a moment, her voice curious.
"And... is she the 'ARgento' that he mentioned?"
Ash raised an eyebrow when he noticed that she was moving more slowly, and she seemed to be a bit on the hurt side.
"Hm." he muttered quietly.
"Not too far." he said.
"We'll be there in about... 5 minutes, max." he told her.
"And... oh, right, you've never heard her last name, have you?" he then asked.
"Yeah, her last name's Argento."
"Hm." he muttered quietly.
"Not too far." he said.

"Good to know. I'd been puzzling over that a bit." Lily commented with a light laugh.
"Beyond that, let's get there to try and explain this." She added, pausing for a moment.
"And here's hoping that there aren't any issues... I don't really think it will have any, but still. Here's hoping."
"Shouldn't be." Ash responded.
Sure enough, about 5 minutes later, they were at the door to Cass's office.
"Right." he said.
He then knocked on the door, and poked his head in.
"Cass?" he said.
"Situation in the animal biomes has been taken care of." he told her.
"And we've had an... interesting... development." he then added, before motioning for Lily to head in.
