After a few seconds, the door opened... seemingly by itself.

But this wasn't anything new. It just meant that Vincent had used his wind mana to open it.

When she stepped through the door, she saw her brother at his study desk, frantically pouring over several texts.

"Where IS it...?" he muttered to himself.

"Oh, hello Hollie." he greeted his sister, briefly looking at her, before going back to the books.

"It should be in THIS chapter, if it's in THIS book..." he mumbled further.

"I'm trying to find a section about half-breed creatures I remember reading." Vincent responded.

"Specifically, how their genetics are passed on, and further on down the line, and such." he said.

"Jaden and Desiree are considering a child in their future, but are obviously concerned about such things, and understandably so." he went on.

"Sydney had some info, but there were some gaps in important information, and I know the chapter I read bridged them." he explained further.

"But it's being a bugger to find." he muttered, before sighing deeply.

"Suppose I ought to take a break before I go mad." he admitted.

"What's this news?" he asked her.

Vincent paused when he heard the name.

"....yes..." he responded.

"I do remember him." he said.

"The LeBlancs were absolutely devastated when he went missing, and the fact that he could be located, no matter what method was used, didn't help matters, either." he went on.

"What about him?" he asked.

"I'm not so foolish as to assume he's suddenly just turned up." he told her further, before pausing again.

"...though I AM hoping it's the case..." he admitted quietly.

".........." Vincent had a moment of prolonged silence as he heard this.

"Excuse me?" he asked.

"His blood... in a statue." he repeated.

He then leaned forward, leaning on his elbows and pinching the bridge of his nose.

"That... admittedly, sounds a bit far-fetched, but... strange things happen all the time in this world." he went on.

"Has anyone found out what this MEANS yet?" he then asked her.

Vincent just sighed.

"Well... if anyone can do it, it's Sharp and his team." he said.

"Kiah works for them, after all. It should be obvious." he added with a small smirk... before it faded slightly.

"...this probably means that Kyle's dead, though..." he said quietly.

"Have you told either of the LeBlanc's yet?" he asked her.

"Or... have they been told, I should say?" he then clarified.

Again, Vincent was silent, before sighing.

"...well, closure is very important." he said.

"Not knowing what's happened to a loved one is... unbearable." he lamented quietly.

"But I suppose this opens up a new investigation." he went on.

"We need to find out what's going on." he told her.

"...and how many more of these statues there are, assuming there ARE more."

Vincent looked at the books on his desk, and pushed them to the side.

"Yes." he said.

"You're right." he agreed.

"They need a close friend to talk to... now, more than anytime else." he reasoned.

"I'll go to them immediately." he told her.

"Please do let me know if you learn anything more on this."

"............" Vincent was silent as he witnessed the statue, before his cell phone rang.

He made his way back into the study, grabbing the phone.

He looked at the caller ID, before raising an eyebrow and shrugging. He hit the button to accept the call, and brought the device to his ear.

"This is Remmington." he said.

"Speak your piece."

"......" Vincent was silent as he heard the warning.

"A... statue I do not recognize." he said.

"I see." he said further.

"I may need some clarification, and I might need it NOW." he told her.

"What kind of statues are we talking about?" he asked her.

"Anything specific, such as... perhaps... an angelic figure?" he asked further.

"..........." Vincent was silent for a moment again.

"I see." he said.

"Thank you for the info." he told her.

"Excuse me a moment." he then quickly said.

Then, no sooner had he finished the statement, did he whirl around to completely face the other way.

He was trying not to be paranoid, but he had NO idea what to expect as he turned.
