The figure stopped at the door, his hand on the handle of it.

"It is not a threat." he told her. "It is a statement of fact." he said.

"I will not make any moves towards you, helping nor hindering." he told her further. "In fact, quite frankly, I intend to make it a point to never see you again." he continued.

"You are trying to ride on and be carried by the prestige and goodwill of the Icesska bloodline, and scam artists such as yourself often find themselves at the feet of the consequences that catch up to them." he went on.

"However, you are putting yourself in far greater danger than you think. And not from me." he said to her, opening the door.

"Heed my warning, and give up your charade, if you value your life at all. If you don't, remember that whatever happens to you is of your own doing." he finished, leaving the room and shutting the door behind him, leaving her alone in the room once more.

She was silent as she was there alone now. He was gone, and good riddance was all she was thinking fo rthe moment.

"Good riddance to him." she muttered but paused. She may not have been able to see much of his features due to that cloak he was wearing, btu she did see his face decently. His fair skin, and pink eyes were enough to cause her pause.

Xeri made her way to the door and just sighed as she listened. Everything was quiet, but that wasn't too surprising.

The concerning bit, was that she was not feeling well at all, and she had her suspicions as to why. She refused to leave Sara alone though, and found herself hoping that someone - Karivyn or her brother, or anyone else - would return shortly.

After a bit, there was a knock on the door.

"It is I!" Karivyn declared, before opening it.

"My apologies." he said.

"But my skills were needed in the battle up above." he told them.

"Is everything all right?" he asked.

"You both doing all right?"

"Karivyn!" Sara exclaimed, obviously happy to see him. Xeri, meanwhile, made her way back to one of the beds and sat down on it.

"Sara's fine." She assured him.

"Ran into no problems on the way, and no one came down here. I think they'd already checked here, and with my brother and I gone they assumed we were with the rest." She told the centaur honestly.

"I, on the other hand... are your arrows poison tipped?" She asked, concern in her voice.

Karivyn had made his way to Sara, and they had embraced each other, before he paused and looked at her.

"Ah..." he stammered, before pausing.

"Oh my goodness, that hadn't occurred to me..." he said.

"Hold on!" he quickly said further.

"I should have something to help.' he told her.

"I believe I have a salve that may help neutralise the poison."

Xeri was silent for a moment before sighing.

"Will it work even with her having cauterised the wound?" She asked.

"I don't feel too horrible yet, but definitely rough around the edges. I should be fine until we reach shore if I must wait."

"Also, please do not feel bad about it. I don't hold it against you."

"Darn it." he cursed lightly.

"That poison..." he mumbled.

"I'm so sorry about this." he apologised.

"Is there anyone on board that might be able to help?' he asked her.

"That you know of, anyway?"

"That I'm not sure of." Xeri admitted.

"I know there are medics aboard for in case someone comes down ill, or hurts themselves, but I'm not sure they'll be able to deal with a poison." She added before pausing a moment.

"Actually... I may know someone who can at least help until we reach shore." She assured him.

"Please, don't worry about me. I'm too determined and tenacious to die to a poison." She finished with a laugh.

Karivyn was silent again, and just sighed.

"So no real help until we dock." he said.

"....as long as you'll be all right... relatively speaking, anyway." he commented.

He then looked towards the door, and shook his head.

"We were lucky." he told her.

"Those seekers had very strange devices with them."

Xeri nodded.

"I should be." she assured him.

"But... I will need to know one thing." She then said.

"What is the poison that you use?" She asked, her tone curious.

Karivyn thought for a moment.

"It's derived from the Salanylus Plant." he told her.

Salanylus was a plant that grew only in select forests, and poisons made from it were considered to be very unique. They could range in effects from a slow death, to paralysis, to a burning sensation (mild to severe), and many others. It was very versatile.

"I should have had the paralysis mixture on them." he commented.

"But from what you've described, it may be the burning one..." he went on.

"Admittedly, I've never really spoken to anyone that has fallen victim to it before." he then admitted.

"Mostly because they either die, or really don't have the attitude or intelligence to talk to me." he added.

Xeri just sighed.

"Well, that explains the numbness that is starting to spread from the site." She commented.

"At least it's plant based. Meaning I should most definitely be able ot get some help while on this ship, until we dock and I can get proper treatment." She added with a soft smile.

"Anyway, you two are welcome to stay here for now, until everything calms down throughout the ship. For now, I need to go and check in with my friend."

"Allow me." Karivyn said.

"You really should not be up and about." he reasoned.

"...however, I DO recognise that there's nothing I can do to stop you, really." he then admitted.

"If you feel you must go, then go." he told her.

"If you can find help for yourself, all the better." he added.

"I can't just sit idly." Xeri admitted.

"Not while I know I need to have this that or the other checked." She added.

"As I said, you're welcome to stay here." She repeated as she made her way to the door.

"I will be back shortly." With that, she left the pair in the room, and headed off to find her brother, or Adym. She hoped that her friend was doing well enough to help, as she knew that this wouldn't take too long to render her largely incapable of moving - she had a couple days at most, she was sure.

Karivyn and Sara watched as she left, and the former sighed heavily.

"I hope she finds the help she needs." he said.

Meanwhile, Adym was sitting with Callie and Ceth, who were looking him over.

"You gonna be all right?" Ceth asked.

"Yeah, I think so." Adym replied.

"The vine's already working its miracles." he assured therm.

". . . what happened?" Xeri asked as she approached.

"... It's not hard to guess that something did, either." She added after a moment or two, with a light sigh.

"So yeah... what all happened while I was with the kid?"

"I got hit by a stray projectile." Adym responded.

Then, the three of them explained the situation that had happened, each giving their own accounts, but they all gelled together into a cohesive story.

"So... yeah." Adym muttered.

"Seems Kai needs to recharge, Callie and I got injured... and..." he went on, before pausing and trailing off, narrowing his eyes.

"Seems we're not the only ones who got hurt." he commented, looking at Xeri.

"No. I got hit by a stray arrow." She commented before pausing a moment, again.

"Actually, that's a lie." She they corrected herself before sighing lightly.

"It was a centaur guardian of another Crux." She then said.

There was silence for a moment... before they all noticed a very dark aura around Ceth.

".....is that so..." he said heavily.

"Well, then." he said further.

"Looks like I may need to... pay a visit... to that horse." he commented.

"Have a... talk... with him..." he went on.

"Explain that there are consequences for attacking my sister."

"Or you can be an intelligent elf and realise that he was defending his charge from an unknown intruder to the room that they were in." Xeri commented.

"Since I was the stupid one and was trying to be quiet, and didn't announce my arrival to them." she continued.

"He reacted defensively." She added with a light sigh.

"Although, he was aiming for my chest. I managed to dodge a fatal blow to have it hit my arm."
