'I'll be there for another year." Kalin told him honestly.

"It's only a three year program." She then added. "And I'm in year two."

"As for your options, it's something to consider." She added.

"Beyond that, I'm not entirely sure what to do... because I know you're right."

Kalin nodded.

"Completely understandable." She commented.

"I don't know what it is that is to come next, but I really don't want it to be the end of my life. I'm not my sister." She then said with a light laugh.

"Oh, as far as I know she's still alive." Kalin commented.

"Just liked to change that. Repeatedly tries." She continued before sighing.

"Can never seem to actually go through with it properly." She added with a shrug.

"But hey, whatever. She can keep trying, does not matter to me."

"Fair." Kalin said.

"Then, I suppose I'll see you tomorrow. You are working at the moment, after all." She added after a moment or two.

"So go on. I'll be fine."

"And thank you."

Kalin, who had gotten dressed and ready in the meantime, nodded.

"Yeah, I'm good to go." She said with a nod.

"I hurt like hell, but that's more than a little expected." She continued as she got to her feet, carefully.

"Lead the way, my good sir."

"Sure. I could eat." Kalin answered.

"Probably nothing too heavy though, admittedly." She added after a second or two.

"So just something like a chicken ceasar salad would be lovely, if you know anywhere to get a decent one."

"Sounds good. And a drink would be lovely." Kalin answered.

"Thank you." She added.

A few days later, Kalin was mobile, even if a bit slower and with more careful steps than before, but she was definitely on the mend. Would likely remain pained and the like for the next bit though, easily.

Currently, she was sitting in the den, working on an essay on her laptop for an assignment (as Rene had managed to make it that she was taking her classes online) while he was off working. He had shorter shifts, but couldn't outright stop. He had several planned and scheduled surgeries he couldn't abandon. Kalin assured him she was all right and wouldn't do much though, so he (albeit slightly reluctantly) agreed to leave.

As it stood, he would be home soon.

"Certainly trying to." Kalin answered.

'Keep running into system errors though." She added.

"I think when my dormmate attacked, she fucked with the laptop." She told him with a side before closing the device.

"Anyhow, you say you brought pizza? Why?" She asked, her voice curious. She didn't sound like she had an issue with it, merely that she was curious as to his reasonings for why,

Kalin just paused before sighing.

"Barely a point. She'll just fuck with it again." She then said.

"Or if she can't, she'll get someone else to. She's from a family with very far reaching fingers, as far as I know."

Kalin paused, looking to Rene with a quizzical expression.

"More point to it than I think?" She asked.

"All right, I'll bite." She then followed up with a second later.

"What are you getting at?" She asked.

"Oh, and I'm about the same, maybe a bit better. Can definitely breathe easier, I think."
