Kalin noticed him before sighing lightly and getting to her feet.

"Dr Remington!" She called as she approached.

"Good morning. I have been asked by Everett to handle your case in his stead, as he expressed concerns over his personal involvement with you." She paused a moment.

"I trust that will not be an issue."

Kalin just chuckled lightly.

"I do believe that's why he asked me to take his place." She commented after a moment or two.

"I am thrilled we were able to get you the verdict that we were after. The prosecution was more prepared than I had actually expected, I admit."

Kalin just chuckled.

"I do what I can." She said simply.

"Regardless, I do believe you have some last minute things to tend to with Everett, as he is the one in charge of the payment and such." She added.

"So I will leave you to contact him at your leisure."

Kalin just laughed lightly.

"Trust me when I say I have no intetion of giving that up easily.' She commented.

"The world hasn't beaten me down thus far, I don't see why it would in the future."

KAlin didn't miss a beat.

"I would hope so." was all she said.

"Anyhow, a pleasure, Dr. remmington." She said with a soft smile.

"But I must bid you adieu. Farewell." She said cordially, before leaving.

Kalin turned and smirked to Everett with a wave before heading off, quickly. She was still young, and sometimes it was obvious.

She made her way back to where she called home, the suite with Rene, and kciekd off her shoes.

"Hey! You home?!" She called into the suite, not sure if he was there or not. She knew he did have a couple of surgeries scheduled for the day, but did not knwow hen or what. For all she knew, he was home three hours ago, or won't be home for another six.

"Go ahead!" he heard from Kalin in the next room, who had managed to hear what he said. He'd obviously said it abit louder than he'd intended to.

"Also, obviously I'm home." he heard, which was closer. When he looked, he saw her approaching.

"Hey. How'd your day and appointments go?"

"Entitlement is absolutely lovely, no?" Kalin asked rhetorically.

"Regardless, order in." She then said.

"Put it on my dime this time. Might as well."

'Pretty sure they'll be grasping for air for the next three weeks." Kalin commented simply.

"So pretty well." She added with a smirk.

"Now I just need to wait and see if anything more comes of this, although I really do doubt it."

"Honestly, I could go for something spicy." Kalin admitted.

"So run with that!" She called as she turned and made her way back to where she'd been, lounging on the couch and leaving him to tend to food.

It was about a month later, and Kalin was in a lull for cases at the moment. Gavin and Everett had agreed to let her spend more time house hunting, which she was currently doing, and had her mostly coming in to earn her pay with organization and paperwork.

Right now, she was looking about ready to put her fist through her laptop screen though.

Nowhere she could afford was accepting her. She kept getting rejected, and even the bank wasn't going to give her a loan, due to how she was still so new to the work force.

To say it was frustrating her... well, that'd be one hell of an understatement.
