Forgive, O Lord,
my little jokes on thee...

"I will forever be busy." Gregory said.

"It is my punishment for what I did with my life." he lamented.

"...and you didn't hear about your father from me." he then whispered.

With that, he disappeared from where he was, leaving her alone in the room once again.

...and I'll forgive thy
great big one on me.

Forgive, O Lord,
my little jokes on thee...

Gregory nodded in response.

"You do that." he said, stepping right up towards her.

"For now, sleep." he told her.

"For the love of my boss, sleep. You can do that soundly now."

...and I'll forgive thy
great big one on me.

Forgive, O Lord,
my little jokes on thee...

Gregory just sighed.

"...just don't be afraid to live your life now." he told her.

"Those that have kept you down are gone." he said.

"You have a good man in your life." he went on, referring to Jaden.

"You can stop surviving, and start thriving now."

...and I'll forgive thy
great big one on me.

Forgive, O Lord,
my little jokes on thee...

Gregory just crossed his arms over his chest.

"I'll say this much." he told her.

"Don't overthink it." he said further.

"There's a bar with a pool table. Seems natural enough."

...and I'll forgive thy
great big one on me.

Forgive, O Lord,
my little jokes on thee...

Gregory raised an eyebrow.

"...right, you know I'm not technically supposed to give that information, right?" he asked.

"Since when do you care about that?" Desiree countered.

"Touché." Gregory said.

"He actually lives here in San Diego." he told her, giving her the address.

...and I'll forgive thy
great big one on me.

Forgive, O Lord,
my little jokes on thee...

"Hence why he's ghosted you." he said.

"He's too chicken to try and re-enter your life." he told her.

"Or something along the lines of a guilt-complex or something, I dunno." he went on.

"He's out there being a scared idiot."

...and I'll forgive thy
great big one on me.

Forgive, O Lord,
my little jokes on thee...

Gregory was silent again, before sighing.

"Me and my big mouth." he growled.

"Yes. He's alive." he told her.

"And no, he's not a threat, before you assume that."

...and I'll forgive thy
great big one on me.

my little jokes on thee...

"Oh, you didn't know that?" Gregory asked.

"Huh. Well, surprise, I guess." he then said.

"Yeah, she's dead. Has been for a bit. And they're both trapped in Hell." he told her.

"Only one left of your family left alive now is your father."

...and I'll forgive thy
great big one on me.

Forgive, O Lord,
my little jokes on thee...

Gregory stopped chuckling and looked at her.

"..take it easy. Liz is the one that's supposed to think like THAT." he said.

"Though Liz did make sure he saw his Mommy dearest when he was cast out into the realm of Hell." he added.

"I'd imagine the reunion was... a mess."

...and I'll forgive thy
great big one on me.

my little jokes on thee...

"He is." Gregory confirmed.

"His smugness and twisted happiness melted when he saw me." he told her.

"Even tried to run." he said further.

"...worked for all of 3 seconds." he chuckled darkly.

...and I'll forgive thy
great big one on me.

my little jokes on thee...

"It's because I can use telepathy." Gregory replied.

"And hello." he said in kind.

"Just came to tell you I collected your brother." he told her.

"And he did not appreciate his judgement."

...and I'll forgive thy
great big one on me.

Forgive, O Lord,
my little jokes on thee...

"Hm. I see." Nate responded.

Once everything was set back up and cleaned up, Nate made sure she was all right one last time, and left.

That's when Desiree felt a vaguely familiar presence, and she saw a cloaked figure in the corner of the room.

"I'm not here for you." he stated.

...and I'll forgive thy
great big one on me.

Forgive, O Lord,
my little jokes on thee...

"...very." Nate agreed.

"Under normal circumstances, I could still guarantee he wouldn't get you here." he told her.

"But these aren't normal circumstances." he said.

"The current ones make me say that he will never bother you again, beyond a shadow of a doubt."

...and I'll forgive thy
great big one on me.

my little jokes on thee...

Nate just sighed again.

"Just get some sleep." he told her.

"Rest and recuperate." he went on.

"As I said, you're safe here. You know you are." he reiterated.

...and I'll forgive thy
great big one on me.
