Emerald nodded.

"We are." he said.

"Space has always fascinated the people of our planet." he told her.

"And when we finally managed to plumb the depths of the oceans, and find out what all was down there, down to the lowest point below water level, we moved on to the next logical step." he went on.

"We went out. And out. And out." he said.

"And... well... it led to this."

"If it helps, we got here through a black hole." Emerald replied.

"Seriously. We got pulled into it, weird stuff happened, and we were spat out in THIS dimension, where we somehow managed to navigate our way to this planet, and... well... crashed." he muttered.

"So I don't know how far out we were." he admitted.

"But if I recall correctly, the threat of reality tearing stops being a thing around.... 50 ripples out? Or so?" he then mumbled further, thinking about it.

"I'd have to seriously concentrate and recall my education for such small details." he chuckled, scratching the back of his head lightly.

"Oh, uh, no. No, we haven't." Emerald replied.

"I'm new here. My sister and I are, that is." he went on.

"My name's Emerald, and I'm here from... well... another dimension." he told her bluntly.

"One that's... well... noticeably different from this one, but still similar." he added.

"I'm not sure if you've met my sister yet, but her name's Violet." he finished.

".....no..." Aly whispered, getting close to Eke, kneeling down, and wrapping her arms around him.

'...shit.' Ryker thought, before racing to a window and looking out it, scanning the skies.

"Where?" he growled.

"Are you here?" he asked quietly.

"Show yourself, I DARE you." he then snarled.

Emerald looked over to Kiah as she said what she did.

"Oh, YOU'RE Kiah." he said.

"I've heard a lot about you." he told her. "And it's all been good." he went on.

"Things like you're a genius, and how the place would fall apart without you, and all that." he went on.

"And... wait, a chemist that uses mana in her work?" he then asked, thinking about it.

"I mean, where I come from, alchemists are a thing of the distant past, but... isn't that synonymous with them?" he asked her, clearly just looking for information, and not trying to start anything.

".....what...?" Aly muttered.

"What is...?" she started to ask, before she grew silent.

'Is... is this...?' she wondered, as she slowly started to inch closer to Eke.

"Huh?" Ryker mumbled.

"What's...? What's up...?" he asked quietly, noticing Eke's pupils narrow down.

'....something's off, kid.' the demon in his mind told him.

'Feel like somethin' ominous is floatin' about.' it added.

Emerald was silent as the exchange took place, before he followed Rylie to the chairs.

"Hey." he said.

"Who was that?" he asked.

"I've seen her around a few times, but... well, okay, maybe twice." he then admitted.

"Does she spend all her time in here or something?" he asked.

"Because the people here seem to really know her and like her... but I never see her anywhere."

"....oh. I see." Emerald replied.

"Well... that makes sense." he admitted.

"Fair enough." he shrugged.

"So... how do you eat like that?" he then asked.

"If there's a disconnect between your head and body, how does food go into your stomach?" he asked further.

"Or... do you even eat?"

He followed her down the hall, and paused for a moment.

"All right." he said.

"And...a ribbon?" he asked.

"From R&D?" he asked further.

"Why? Is it... special or something?"

"Well, as soon as it's convenient for you." Emerald replied.

"I mean, I know you must be busy and stuff, and I don't want to intrude on that." he went on.

"But... but, well... I need to... learn all I can about this world, seeing as I now live here." he reasoned.

"And you seem like someone that really knows the world." he continued.

"I'd really like to spend more time with you." he said further.

"....to learn." he quickly said after a pause.

He accepted the phone, and looked at the pics.

"Oh!" he said.

"Equists!" he said further.

"Yeah, yeah, yeah, I've seen these before." he told her.

"I like them. Never ridden on one, but I like them." he said further, returning the phone to her.

"So they're called 'horses' here." he then mumbled.

"Need to remember that..." he told himself.

Emerald paused when she asked her question.

"Ah..." he stammered, before sighing.

"I... I don't know." he said.

"I can't really answer that question, unless you answer one of mine." he told her.

He then paused for another moment, looking right at her.

"...what's a 'horse'?"

Aly and Ryker paused as the thunder crashed overhead.

"...wow." Aly said.

"Guess it's getting worse." she commented.

"Looks like I got home just in time." Ryker chimed in, before looking at Eke.

"Yo." he said.

"Y'alright?" he asked him.

"...." Emerald was silent for a moment.

"A... motorcycle?" he asked.

He then thought once more, before he snapped his fingers.

"Oh!" he exclaimed.

"Yeah!" he said.

"I've never been on a motorcycle before, so I'd love to ride on one!" he told her.

"I've heard that they were amazing to drive and ride on." he added, his enthusiasm plain as day.
