Be genuine while also remembering that sometimes we just aren't certain people's cup of tea. Showing an interest in other people's interests is a great way to start a conversation. Just make sure you're actually interested or it's gonna be a lot of work for you. Also, quality over quantity. Make sure you can maintain your current friendships. I find it easier to maintain a few good friends and have a lot more agreeable acquaintances. I tend to get overwhelmed when I have too many close friends and it's hard for me to be a good friend. =(

@Selaphi: Sometimes the type of icing matters too. I prefer a buttercream myself.

But yeah... can't practice too much unless you have other people to eat your expiriments. XD

@Selaphi: It definitely takes practice and a steady hand. Also? Don't try to ice a warm cake. >.< That's a travesty in the making.

@Selaphi: My mom always made our birthday cakes and friend, let me tell you, those were some delicious cakes. She was really good at decorating too.

@Selaphi: I like to keep frozen personal pies in the freezer for just such an occasion.

@Ghostie: I'll have to take your word for it since I haven't really joined one before (unless TinierMe counts?). So far it seems super relaxed and I can appreciate that a lot.
