A slice of cheesecake or chocolate cake is around 2-3 dollars and that's kinda expensive for us so we don't eat it often. But those sweetbreads like donuts, croissants and bread baked with nutella inside are cheaper.

1 loaf of bread is 1 dollar from the bakery. The smaller pastries are around that too but vary abit. Never more than 2 dollars per piece though. I wonder why its so expensive where you guys live.

Damn they charge too much. Over here they are the cheapest snacks you can buy. We usually buy them when we go on long trips to snack on.

Were they not very good or do your people just not have a taste for them?
Posted in The sanctuary Posted 7 years ago
Well you should open one :vanora_xd: You have a monopoly!

Do you have any bakeries nearby?

Exactly! Why did they come here!? I suppose they just wanted an excuse to go on "working holiday" in a new country.

In the back is all the different kinds of breads, on the left is all the sweet pastries and on the right is all the savoury pastries. When my parents came over they tried to buy some sliced bread from the supermarket. I made them eat some of these breads instead. Honestly they are cheaper and taste much better.

I know some culinary students who traveled all the way to Croatia to learn French cooking...feels like they went to the wrong European country. Just sayin'. They didn't even taste a single Croatian dessert. *facepalm*

I want to work in one of those, they always smell so good

This is where we get our snacks.

That's sad, more countries should have them!

That's a pretty awesome fast food vending machine! First time I have seen something like that.

And characters playing with forbidden magic beyond their control is nothing new especially for teenagers. They are in the testing boundaries phase. I mean even harry potter nearly killed someone with a spell he tested.

But yeah I agree with Unicorn. The series isn't for everybody. It's very different from the heroes and villains in other shows. The heroes aren't glamorous, have glaring character flaws and sometimes they are their own worst enemies. I wouldn't even say they had a traditional villain. They try to fix things with magic and it comes at a price. It's basically watching teenagers try to have their cake and eat it too. But learning it can't ever be like that.
