I hope whoever I work with at my next job is more considerate than the people here. Pro tips, y'all: lower your volume when you're on the phone instead of screaming into it loud enough for the whole room to hear, or else take your call outside of the break room. And when listening to music, use headphones. Nobody wants to jam with you. If you must come to work sick, at least have the courtesy to cover your mouth when you cough, and not sit/stand directly in front of people so that they can escape the line of fire. And finally, you can keep your own house as disgusting as you like, but when you're at work, you need to act like an adult and clean up after yourself. Just because we have a maintenance person does not make it ok to leave garbage and crumbs all over the floors and tables, or to not flush the toilet.

I'm glad the kid stood up for himself but oof that grandma raises some huge red flags for me and I just hope his parents are more reasonable. I find it more scary than funny, just knowing what living with people like that can do to someone.

I can't guarantee that I'll maintain interest if several weeks go by with no replies, but if you can try to let me know ahead of time when you might be held up for a while, there's no harm in seeing how it goes.
As far as familiarity with the setting, feel free to ask me anything you're unsure about, or if you'd rather pick a different setting, I can do that, too, depending on what it is.

I haven't read it, myself, but if you know what generic "fantasy adventure" stuff tends to look like, then you probably know what I'm talking about.
