When Aria had woken up again, it was just reaching the evening time. She did happen to feel better now. "Thank goodness." She said softly. She got up out of bed, brushed her hair and made sure she still looked alright before leaving her room to rejoin the others.
"As the future king, you do know that you'll have to talk to many people almost all the time right?" Test aunt pointed out. Troy cleared his throat and gently pat Lyle's shoulder. "I think that Prince Lyle knows that very well and I'm sure that he'll talk to people eventually, once he feels comfortable." Troy started. "As my parents say, everyone opens up at a different pace and there is nothing wrong with that." He added. Hearing what Troy said surprised everyone. "Your parents raised you well I see." The queen said with a smile.
Aria had come back downstairs and entered the room everyone was talking in,"Good evening, Your Highnesses." She said, curtseying to them,"Whatever has bothered me earlier seems to have passed and I feel much better now."
"See? Told you she'd be fine." Lyle said simply, looking down at his empty plate and empty glass. "I'm glad you feel better dear." The queen said with a smile. "I agree with what Prince Troy said. I am aware that I need to talk to people a lot since I am the future king and with all due respect, I'm doing so right now." Lyle continued and looked at Troy's aunt. "One day at a time, nothing wrong with that." Troy commented.
Aria wondered if she had come in at a bad time. She wanted to hug Lyle and thank him for earlier, but decided not to. She didn't want to embarrass him in front of anyone. Maybe, later on, she could thank him. She smiled at Troy,"I hope you have been enjoying your visit here." She said
Troy stood up and looked at Aria. "I have. This kingdom is lovely. Perhaps I'll have to visit it more often. I'm happy to see that you are feeling better, miss Aria." He said and looked at the others, "Excuse us." He said and motioned for Lyle to follow him out of there. Lyle looked at Aria and frowned before quietly following Troy out of the dining room.
Aria blinked, wondering what that was about. She sat down to join the adult in conversation while waiting for Troy and Lyle to return. She hoped everything was alright and that there hadn't been any problems.
"I figured I would remove you from that situation. I could tell you were growing upset." Troy said softly as they stood at the foot of the stairs. Lyle smirked, "It was that obvious?" He asked and Troy nodded. "This is still out of my comfort zone. Having people point it out doesn't make it any easier." Lyle explained. "I can understand. I didn't like social gatherings either but after a while you get used to it. My aunt means well, but she does have a problem with keeping her opinions to herself. I apologise for her actions, she doesn't do so to upset you." Troy assured. "Just take a deep breath and let's go back in there." Troy suggested. "Thanks for understanding..." Lyle said quietly. Troy chuckled and wrapped an arm around Lyle's shoulders. "Of course I understand, I've been in your shoes once. You're doing a fine job though. The people here look happy. You should be proud." He said. Lyle looked at Troy and smirked, "Oh but I am." He replied and started to walk back to the dining room, Troy following behind and then both of them sitting down once they entered the room.
Aria smiled when they came back in and sat down. She was glad that they seemed alright and all was well. When Lyle sat down, Aria swiftly kissed his cheek, wanting to show him a little affection without embarrassing him too much. She hoped he wasn't still too upset with her for the things that happened that morning.
Lyle looked down at his hands which rested on his lap. "Everything okay dear?" his mother asked and he nodded. "No worries your highness, we just had a small chat. I thought that perhaps opening up to one person at a time would be easier instead of opening up to all of us at once." Troy explained politely. He noticed Aria kissed Lyle's cheek but Lyle didn't return it. He wondered if that was normal behavior. He didn't know Lyle very well but one word came to mind after speaking with him...pride. Nothing wrong with that. he thought to himself. "Lyle has always been a reserved person growing up. Being an only child and living the life he lived, it wasn't easy for him to go out and make friends." The king explained, finishing his drink. "Poor thing. You should have given the boy a sibling." Troy's aunt commented. "One child is more than enough for us." The king countered. "Besides, he has made a friend, Aria." The queen added, motioning to Aria.
Aria nodded, blushing lightly when the Queen motioned to her,"I've been here since I was a young girl." She said politely,"So for the most part, Lyle and I have grown up together." She smiled, thinking of the funny stories she could tell. She wouldn't though. Some were embarrassing even for her.
"So the two of you are very close?" Troy asked, finishing his glass of wine. Lyle nodded, "We're very close friends." he replied and looked at Troy. Let the battle begin. he thought to himself. "Oh really? Must be nice having a friend you can talk to every day under your same roof." Troy answered calmly. "W-well...yes I suppose so. Although we don't do much talking." he answered then realized that could be taken out of context. "I'm always too busy helping my father with paperwork and she's busy with her studies." he added quickly. "Studies?" Troy repeated and looked at Aria. "What studies?" he asked her.
Aria looked over,"Well... I use to be a maid here." She said,"That was how I've grown up. I've always grown up serving the royal family and helping Lyle when needed. But recently I've been allowed to begin studies on learning how to be a proper lady." She guessed Lyle was upset with her and that was why he had called her his friend. But she hoped she was wrong.
Troy listened to Aria, clearly interested in what she had to say. She had a sweet voice that he would love to listen to all day if he could. "Ahh... I see. How interesting. Are you enjoying the transition? I'm sure it must have been hard to adjust to the changes." he said to her politely. Lyle watched how Troy looked at Aria and balled up his hands into fists. "She'd doing just fine." he muttered. Lyle's parents looked at each other for a moment then looked at their guests. "Aria is doing spectacularly. She's doing such a great job, the teacher reports don't lie after all and they never have anything bad to say about her. I believe that Aria takes her studies seriously." The queen explained.
Aria smiled and nodded,"I am actually." She said,"The classes keep me quite busy. They are being postponed a bit at the moment due to unfortunate circumstances. One teacher is unwell and the other unexpectantly lost their father. I feel just terrible for them." Her smile fell as she mentioned the tragedies that befell her teachers but it came back as she continued,"I should be back to lessons next week if things go the way I hope."She didn't want to go on too much about herself. She didn't want to give the impression she thought she was full of herself. She looked over at Troy,"Tell us about your home. What is it like?" She asked, wanting to learn a little bit more about the other young man and his family that had come to visit them.
"Oh, well I'm sorry to hear about your teachers' misfortunes." Troy said, "Well I'm sure you're enjoying your time free of classes. I remember when I had to endure the classes. They're not exactly fun, but they're a must in our way of life." he mused. Lyle snickered when he heard what Troy said and nodded. It was true, the classes weren't fun. Well, they weren't supposed to be. Hearing Aria's question, Troy looked at the king and queen who looked interested in learning more about him as well. He looked to his aunt and uncle who gave him the ok. "Well..." he started. "It's absolutely beautiful. Of course, that probably doesn't mean much coming from me and well I don't want to sound self centered either." he admitted. "Oh please do tell us about your kingdom Prince Troy! You don't need to be shy." The queen insisted. Troy didn't want to be rude, so he nodded. "My kingdom is know for it's defenses as well as it's decor. After you cross the main gate, you'll be greeted by nothing short of perfection. It's beautiful there in the spring but I personally love it when Winter comes and the entire kingdom is covered in a soft blanket of snow. The lakes are frozen and some of the people enjoy ice skating. It's quite fun actually. You should all visit sometime, it would be very nice to have some guests from another kingdom visit my home." he suggested. "Troy, do you ice skate?" The king asked curiously. Troy looked surprised at the sudden question. "Perhaps..." he answered. His aunt gasped, "Do your parents know?" she asked. "Perhaps not..." Troy answered with a smile. Lyle smirked, 'Way to go Troy, keeping a secret from your own parents.' he thought to himself.
Aria smiled, listening to Troy talk about his kingdom. When he finished, Aria smiled,"Ice skating sounds like so much fun." She said,"I might not be very good, but I would love to try it sometime." She had watched people ice skate before and always imagined herself whizzing around on the ice with a friend, having the time of her life. But she had just stuck to watching. Maybe one day she actually would give it a try if they had any ice in their kingdom to skate on.
"Isn't ice skating dangerous though?" Lyle commented innocently. "You could fall, get cut on the ice or on the blade of the skate. You can run into someone and break your nose or something." he informed with a shrug of his shoulders. "Well yes, like anything, it's dangerous but that's why you need to be very careful at all times no matter how good you are." Troy explained honestly. He then looked at Aria and smiled. "Well you're always welcome to come visit and try at the ice rink. I'll even pay for you." he said to her. Lyle did his best not to roll his eyes, he knew what Troy was doing and it was working.
Aria smiled,"I think I would rather skate in the snow." She said,"It would be more fun to actually be out on the ice, gliding around with a group of friends or that one special person." She smiled,"I'm in no rush to, of course, I love how beautiful the weather has been lately. Other than Spring, Winter is one of my favorite seasons." She glanced over at Lyle as she spoke, wondering why she could sense a slight feeling of annoyance coming from him. She hoped everything was okay.

Lyle looked at Aria, "You'll end up getting sick though." he said and sighed. He knew Aria really wanted to do this though and he didn't want to be know as the person who prevented her from having fun. "If you really want to do that though, I guess we can go visit during winter and you can have your fun." he said quietly. His parents nodded, liking the idea. "I think it would be fun to visit another kingdom. After all, Prince Troy visited ours. The least we could do is visit his." The king said honestly. The queen smiled and clasped her hands together, "Oh I am so excited! Aria dear, we'll have to get you some skates and some warm clothes!" the queen insisted.
