"I don't know." he said.

"Odds are she won't like it at first, but after I explain it, she might." he told her.

"Might still be uncomfortable with it, though." he admitted.

"All we can do is wait and see." he then muttered.

"And oh?" he asked.

"I admit, that seems interesting, getting more in touch with the side of me that I normally have to hide." he admitted to her.

"If you can't, then I can put him to work with Az's kid, Cain." She added. "Which I'm sure might be even more of a stab to him. Or hell, put him to work with Zeke. There's an idea."

"Regardless, I should get going. Lex is probably wondering what the fuck I'e been doing since I left."

Meanwhile, Zeke had made his way back to the Unit, and to Angela.

"Got it." he told her as he approached.

"Hopefully this is enough." he said further.

"Where do you want me to put it?" he then inquired.

"Good." Was all Angela said as she approached him.

"thank you. I'll just ake it so I can do what I need to." She added. After he'd handed it to her, she just chuckled.

"Don't worry, I protected my hands." She added.

"Aedan's over with Anya, and will be the one actually doing it - as she's dead." She added.

"But yeah, thank you so much."

"No problem." he said.

"..." he was then silent, before shaking his head.

"Anyway, I gotta go." he told her.

"I have some things I wanna ask Mom and Dad about." he said further.

"Like... I suppose ethical things." he went on.

"Regardless, I won't hold you up any longer."

Angela noded.

"Yeah, get going." She said.

"I'll see you back home later."

She was frozen in place as the shadows surrounded her, blocking light and definitely making it difficult to actually see anything.

"No..." She said quietly as she looked around, hoping to find some sort of sliver of something. She was backing up, hoping to get away from the figure as well, but finding it to be more than a little diffiicult.

It was trapping her.

She was stuck in the room, no way to the door, and she knew that this shadow would mean toruble. The problem was, she had no idea what the shadow was.

All she did know, was that it was prblematic, and most definitely something that she had to avoid. She also realised she needed to research it.

However, as it closed in on her, surrounded her, suffocated her, and her world became black, she was bombarded with mention images, visions, everything.

Her closest friend was dead, or at least dying. And she couldn't do anything about it.

She woke with a scream, her heard pounding, along with her head. As she shot up, she knocked the one who was there - tending to her - back.

"whoa! Anya, chill. You're all right." Angela said after a moment or two.

"I...." Anya started, breathing heavily as she just looked around, bringing a hadn up.

"Are you all right?" Angela asked, concern in her voice.

"I ... I don't..." anya started, sounding absolutely horrified, if nothing else.

The problem was... she had no idea why she felt that way.

Mere moments later, one of the interns working there came rushing in.

"Miss Edwards, are you all right!?" they asked.

They then looked and saw that Anya was awake.

"Oh!" the said.

"Should I notify Jake and Azazel?" they asked her.

"Or... well, Jake, at least?" he asked further.

"He's... not been doing well ever since she was brought here." he admitted, gesturing to Anya.

"I'm all right. No worries." She assured the intern.

"Please tell Jake that I wish to speak with him ASAP." She added before pausing.

".... and if he's still drinking with Izea that I will give him something to sober him up."

"....." the intern nodded in response.

"Yes, Ma'am." he said, leaving the two women to converse, if need be.

After a few minutes, Jake stepped into the medical wing, and cleared his throat a little.

"...." he was silent, before sighing, and sitting down.

He knew Angela would be told he was here.

So he decided it best to just... wait.

He was sure that would be best, as he didn't want to potentially get in someone's way... as much as he wanted to just rush to Anya and see her again.

Sure enough Angela approached Jake once she was aware fo his presence... of course, she found out via Anya telling her.

"Hey." She said simply.

"You drunk?" She asked, her voice curious, and a bit concerned.

"I know Izea has ... some strong spirits."

"Still kinda feeling it..." he admitted further.

"Because, yeah... Izzy has some strong shit." he agreed.

"... She's drunk many a person under the table." Angela commented with a sigh.

"Come on. We'll grab oyu something to kick that out of your system." She then said. "And i highly doubt that you want to have any sort of impairment when you go to speak with Anya." She added as they walked.

"Are you all right, though?" she asked as they reached a cupboard and she grabbed something from within.

"I ... really don't doubt that you didn't take her needing to be here well at all."

"And even among those very few, she's something special." he went on.

"If something were to happen to her..." he continued, trailing off a little.

"...not sure I'd be able to come back from it..."

"Because I'm not letting you talk to her until you do." She added.

"Suffice to say, she's awake, and doing all right, but she IS still in rough shape."

Jake was silent and accepted the 'cookie'.

He ate it, making sure to chew properly and swallow.

And after about 10 seconds, he almost seemed to fall over, but steadied himself against a wall.

"....woah." he mumbled.

"That is a rush." he said.

"All right, feeling A LOT better now." he told her.

And she could tell. He seemed more... himself.

"Sorry about being in that state." he apologised.

"Also, you might keel over in an hour or so. those have my mana mixed it doesn't always play nice with people." She added.

"So don't be surprised if you suddenly crash for awhile."

She then led him to the rood where Anya was, and gestured for him to enter.

He nodded and slowly opened the door.

"Anya...?" he said quietly, peering his head in.

He was almost scared of what he might see... what Anya's condition would be...

When he made his way in, he saw Anya sitting up on the bed, her knees up and lookig absolutely terrified. However, it wasn't easy to identify why she looked so. She as a demon, a decently ranked one at that... what the hell could cause her to be so terrified, and waht the fuck could harm her as she had been before?

She didn't even notice him right away, at least at first. it wasn't until the door closed that she reacted.

She looked up and over to him, her complexion far paler than before, her black and white eyes seeming to echo what he could see her in posture.

"... Jake...." she said quietly, relief in her voice. She was happy to see him, thrilled that he looked unscathed. Whatever had attacked her, hadn't gone fo rhim.

He wanted to rush over to her and hug her. Hold her close.

But he was warned that Anya was still delicate right now. Her wounds would still be very sore.

So he resisted that urge, and slowly made his way over, sitting down on the edge of the bed that she was in.

"...yeah, it's me." he said.

"Are you okay?" he asked her.

"How are you doing?"
