Darrel was silent for a moment, and sighed.
"Yeah." he said.
"It comes in bursts." he told her.
"Frequent bursts, but still." he went on.
"Usually my bursts of running come after I hear something like 'OMG IT'S HIM!', or GUYS, IT'S DARREL MCCORMICK!'..." he then muttered, shaking his head.
"Why?" he asked.
"Yeah." he said.
"It comes in bursts." he told her.

"Yeah.... you've got muscle in your legs, but not elsewhere." Sammy said simply.
"You can't have it in burst like that, it really won't help with your endurance." She added.
"I can help you with that. Basically help direct you for how to train your body with running and whatnot, and how to make it that it's more ... well, healthy."
Darrel looked at Sammy, and nodded.
"Please." he said.

"I need to be able to go for longer distances." he went on.
"That would seriously help my escape attempts."

"I run. A lot." She then continued. "So while I'm not an expert, I know a fair bit. Learned it from ym Aunt and Uncle."

"Anyway, how often do you swim?" She asked, changing the topic
"I try to swim at least once a day." Darrel responded.
"My building has a really nice pool in the gym, so I try to use it daily." he told her.

"EVERYONE and their kids decide it's time to use it then." he sighed.
"There ends up being no room to... y'know... ACTUALLY swim."

"This pool is generally pretty empty. You're welcome to come here to swim if you wanted." She then said. "At least I assume that Mom and Dad won't care." She added before shrugging
"Besides, if youw ant to actually, honestly, swim, it'd be nice to have someone to properly swim with."
"Swimming is something that is amazing exercise." Darrel responded.
"And I actually make the effort to... swim." he told her.
"I try to have at least an hour of swimming, from one end of the pool to the other." he went on.
"It is quite exhilarating." he continued.
"And a swim-buddy would be wonderful to have." he added with a small smile.

They then swam to the edge of the pool, and readied themselves.
"How we doing this?" he asked her.
"Just to the other end, or there and back here, or what?" he asked further.
"Oh, and is this freestyle, or are there any limitations on style?"

With that, he pushed off the edge of the pool, and started to swim to the other end.

sammy was quick to follow, and she was fast. It didn't take long at all before she passed him. By the time he'd reached the end of the pool and was turning to return, he saw that Sammy was about half of the way to the other end again.
The girl was fast.
Surprisingly so, considering she doesn't look the most fit or fast normally when dressed in what she would normally wear day to day./
