Sammy paused before hanging up.

"See you when you get it...?" She asked the air before sighing and looking to Darrel.

"I'm heading to my Uncles." She told him.

"Would you mind making sure Mom and Dad know that?" She asked.

"Ah... ah..." Darrel stammered.

"Ah... y... yeah... y-yeah." he said.

"Yeah... yeah, sure." he repeated.

That was when Samantha noticed something else.

Darrel's nose was going wild. It was sniffing all over the place, like it had detected something... delectable.

Sammy wasn't stupid. she knew what Darrel was. Both she had Even were informed of the details like that before he'd come over.

"Here." She said, holding a bloodied hand out.

"Seriously. Might as well taste, no?" She asked with a light laugh.

Darrel retreated a bit when she held her hand out.

"Ah!" he exclaimed.

"N-n-no..." he said.

'No." he repeated.

"It's fine." he told her.

"It's... it's just... it's fine." he insisted, sweat started to trickle down his face.

"Just... just go to your uncle." he told her.

Sammy was silent for a moment before shrugging.

"Sure." She said as she grabbed her phone and checked the time.

"Yeah. I'm out." She said before setting the phone down, blood all over the case and everything.

"See ya." was the last thing she said before vanishing in a burst of flames.

Darrel watched her disappear, and then looked at her phone... covered in blood.

"......." he was silent as he looked at it.

He then looked left. Then right.

He then took a step towards the phone.

This was followed by yet another look to the left and right... and this continued, as he slowly made his way closer to the phone, step by step.

Meanwhile, after SAmmy was gone, Darrel was watched from behind.

There was silence from the one watching. She wanted to know what it was that was going to happen. Something like this is certainly good to know, something like this is something that she had to find out the results from,a fter all. He was staying in her home, and if he was a risk.... well, she nbeeded to know, after all.

So she stayed there, behind him, and watched from where she was outside.

Darrel was obviously unaware that he was being watched... observed.

He continued to inch his way towards the phone, stopping at the table it was resting on. He fell to his knees and put his hands on the table, his nose at the same level at the phone.

His eyes were wide, and his nose was going wild, as he continued to stare at the device.

He then reached a hand out... slowly towards the phone... before he snapped it back and then collapsed to the floor, holding himself back and shaking slightly.

The one watching sighed. This wasn't an easy thing to go through, she was sure.

"Hey Lindsay?" She called to the side, where she'd been sitting with her husband for a bit.

"I'm heading inside for a few. Want me to grab anything on my way back out?"

Lindsay looked over towards Casey, and thought for a moment.

"A bottle of that lemonade that Ash made." he told her.

"It's so sweet, but so refreshing." he said further.

"Just... overall, love it. It's the best lemonade." he commented.

"Thanks." he finished with a smile.

"Will do." Casey said.

"Not sure how long I'll be gone, but I'll grab tht on my way out." she added before heading off. She used her mana to appear up in the loft like room that she used as her studio, grabbed a couple of bags from the mini fridge she had in there, and made her way downstairs.

"Hey Darrel." She started as she approached him.

"Here." She said, holding the bags out.

Darrel was silent as he looked at Casey, and then at the bags.

When he saw what they were, his eyes developed a certain look to them.

There was a carnal... feral... unbridled bloodlust in them.

And Darrel looked crazy with them right now.

His pupils had shrank... and they were quivering some... before he seemed to snap back to his senses.

He quickly withdrew from her, and looked scared now.

Casey just sighed before just meeting his gaze.

"Darrel, here." She said as she set them into his hand, which she'd grabbed.

"Seriously." She then said.

"You need them."

Darrel was shaking as he looked at the blood bags... one of them darker than the other. It was clear that they'd come from two different sources. One was labelled at 'Ash', and the other... wasn't labelled.

He was silent, as he looked ready to literally tear into them... until Casey handed him a straw.

He quickly grabbed the straw and jabbed it into the bag, before starting to thirstily down the contents of the bag labelled 'Ash'.

And Casey could see it in his expression and body language. He looked like an addict, getting his fix, and being ashamed of himself for it.

Casey watched Darrel down the contents with a soft smile.

"You're a good kid, Darrel." She said.

"You deserve to not have to worry about your next meal." She added.

"An dodn't worry. We keep bags of the blood from people who allow it in this house in a mini fridge upstairs at all times, just in case we have one of the vampires drop by needing some sustenance." She assured him.

"And we were aware of how you would need some while here. So don't worry, it's all good."

Darrel just finished the bag of Ash's blood, and then put the straw in the other one.

But he paused as he was about to drink out of it.

"....um..." he mumbled.

"Who's is this?" he asked her.

"It's not... labelled or anything." he said.

Casey shrugged.

"Oh, it's Lindsay's." She said without missing a beat. She wasn't entirely sure why she was lying, but she was sure that he wouldn't take hearing the truth too well. So it seemed like the better option, she thought.

"It's extremely fresh. Like two or three days fresh. Just haven't labelled it yet."

"Oh." Darrel replied.

He then drank down half of it, before pausing.

"....hm." he mumbled.

But before Casey could ask anything, he just shrugged and finished it quickly.

"...you said this was Lindsay's?" he then asked her suspiciously.

"I did." Casey replied.

"Well. That explains a lot." Darrel replied, looking at the bag.

Casey acquired a puzzled expression when he said what he did.

"I... ok, I don't get to experience the subtle nuances between the blood differences. Why do you say that it 'explains a lot'?" She asked, her voice curious.

"Because I ... would assume they'd be the same?"

"Not at all." Darrel replied.

"Ash's has a... heavier... taste." he told her. "Like, the darkness in it makes it a heady taste, and it tends to have a bit of weight in the stomach." he said further.

"Plus, the Salamander in him gives it a unique tang." he went on.

"Lindsay's is completely different." he went on.

"The absence of the darkness makes it lighter, and the phoenix element adds SO much." he continued. "It gives it a nice airy feel, and the nature of phoenix mana, being about rebirth and all that... well... it gives the blood a bit of a rejuvenating effect." he told her further.

"I feel full of energy because of it." he finished... and she could see that he wasn't lying. He did seem to have a LOT more energy and spirit suddenly.
