Socks loves getting petted as long as you don't pick him up and hold him. Red does get into bitey scratchy mode to 'play' with you.

This is very true, Socks is the one who's been snoozing all day. He's such a pretty kitty. Red likes getting petted a lot and won't leave you alone. As long as you don't scratch his butt.
