Water and coffee, generally. The coffee can vary a bit in flavor, but it's generally some derived creation of a latte.

I'm usually pretty good at remembering my obligations and allocating time to them accordingly. That, and I tend to keep an accurate planner.
For something like art or online trades, honestly, it's the lowest on my priority list when compared to anything else I deal with on a day-to-day outside of a forum or game.

I think I tend to prefer enjoying characters who are complex in their motivations but steadfast in their own moral code. They don't have to be antagonists or protagonists, but when you can see someone growing in the decisions they make it's kind of enjoyable.

Dune, by Frank Herbert.
I have a few on the waiting list after I finish that were recommendations from a friend.

Posted in Can a HOA make it a requirement to decorate for Christmas?
Posted 3 years ago
I mean, they can really do whatever they want.
An argument about the infringement of free speech wouldn’t apply here [mostly] because a HOA is not a government entity, so you don’t have those protections. An HOA acts like a contract between two private parties—the Homeowners Association and the homeowner. The origin of contracts like this (often called “restrictive covenants”) were primarily to prevent certain populations from entering that neighborhood. Think White homeowners trying to prevent non-white families from entering the area as homeowners. The Fair Housing Act (FHA) comes into play here to prevent these past-accepted practices.
That being said, the HOA cannot however enforce those kinds of rules unevenly or in a discriminatory manner and federal laws will always supersede a HOA’s policy (the FHA is a federal act, so it is superior to a HOA regulation). And without getting too deep in the reeds of legalese, the general idea is that a HOA may restrict visual decorations if it’s purpose is not discrimination or a motivating factor in why it’s a restriction. This is a very easy threshold to overcome because the HOA just states it’s to keep the property neat or something similar. But if the HOA only enforces the rules against non-Christmas decorations but not Christmas-themed ones, there’s an argument that it’s discrimination.
So long answer short:
The HOA could not force someone to put up a religious or holiday display, or force them to participate or restrict access to a religious practice but they do have authority—particularly when written into the covenants a person signed when entering the HOA home—to restrict those decorations in a non-discriminatory way.

@Jolly: You can change the clock face, yes. Obviously a more advanced watch warrants a more advanced and colorful face, but the model I have suits me fine.

Remember those bizarre setups in malls where the person was encircled in a sort of ring and they had a VR set on?
I think there's still some small push to blame a juvenile's bad parenting and shitty personality on video games or music, but mostly we seem to have shifted to other avenues of scapegoats.

So I have the fitbit Inspire 2. I purchased it for $60 because I had a coupon and it was a holiday sale, but they're usually about $100. Without Premium, it still tracks my (a) steps, (b) sleep,* (c) exercise, and (d) is able to maintain reminders. I have just one "reminder" as an alarm that buzzes for me to wake up without disturbing anyone around me. The only downside is that it doesn't have an exercise function for rowing, which is how I usually work out. It just picks up something else like swimming or aerobics instead. Not that I can say I really give a shit.
Just about any watch is going to have inaccurate readings for steps because of arm movements, so it helps if you can track distance and roughly estimate your steps but even then, that kind of buffer isn't going to make a massive difference.
I hope the watch you have received suits your needs!

Ahh, I remember hearing about those; I think they're moving on to a localized patch that people can stick on themselves. The commercial for it is ludicrous.
I have the Mirena, which is theoretically good for another two years. Hopefully the governor doesn't pass a law against birth control procedures and access in the meantime. //rolls her eyes
