Ryker narrowed his eyes as he saw the dragons staring at Eke and whispering.

"Come on." he told Eke.

"Let's find a place to sit." he told him.

"They'll have just what you like, in portions made just for you." he reasoned.

As he did, he continued to shoot glances at the dragons, wondering if things would get ugly.

The male nodded.

"Standard rules." he said.

"And your goal cannot be to kill." he told her.

"I mean, seriously. If you must treat it as such, then fine, but do NOT kill." he said further.

"Beyond that, standard sparring rules, essentially." he went on.

He then pressed a button, and spoke into a comm system, beckoning someone to come to his office.

"You'll be taken to our gym where the test will be administered." he told her.

He raised an eyebrow when he heard that, before writing some things down.

"Allll righty." he said.

"...hm." he then muttered, pausing for a moment and thinking about something.

"Moving on." he said, as they continued some back and forth. This went on for about 10 minutes, before he placed the papers and folder down on the desk.

"Now. There will be some more questions and paperwork after, but we're moving to the practical portion of this interview." he informed Abby.

"You will be pitted against one of our hunters in a fight, and you will be evaluated on how you perform in said fight. Ie: what tactics you use to achieve victory, or whatever goal you intend to pursue." he finished.

Ryker laughed when Eke said that.

"I suppose getting something to eat would be good." he admitted.

"Like what?" he asked, looking around.

"There's... a lotta places here..." he muttered.

"Looks like they even have places that cater to dragons, specifically." he then added.

The male paused for a moment when he heard that.

"One of the rarer hunter gifts." he said.

"Interesting." he said further.

"All right then..." he muttered further, writing some things down.

"Now, tell me." he said.

"Why do you want to work here?" he asked.

"And this isn't the standing bullshit interview question where I expect you to make it sound like you're a willing drone." he told her.

"I want the blunt truth. You got any special reason for wanting to work HERE?"

"We do our best." the male replied.

"We pride ourselves on being accessible, despite the maze of corridors." he said further.

"Have a seat." he told her.

"I'll need your name, and what your specialization is." he went on.

"As well as what abilities you bring to the table."

"You're in the right place." the male behind the desk answered.

"Shut the door behind you." he said.

He was then silent, looking at her.

"....hm." he muttered under his breath.

'Impressive already.' he thought.

Darrel chuckled in response.

"I'm just glad I could help." he said.

"Seriously. I'm glad that this opportunity has come your way." he continued.

"And you stand a good chance to get in, in my personal opinion." he then told her.

"Regardless, yeah, I'll portal you there when you need to be there." he reiterated.

"I've been wanting to tell you this for a while, but... well... I couldn't." he said.

"Not when things weren't solidified."

Ryker just smirked.

"Yeah, that's true." he said.

"THAT'S a definite plus." he agreed.

"Do you want to head to the Capital right away?" he then asked.

"Or would you rather rest for another day or so?"

Darrel just nodded.

"Right, you're supposed to be there for 3:30 pm their time." he told her. "So... 10:30 am THIS time." he went on. "I THINK I got that right..." he muttered.

"Anyway, when you're ready to head there, give me a call and I'll use my portals to get you there." he told her.

"The name you're supposed to give is 'Probie'..." he then informed her. "With the password being 'Measure twice, cut once'." he finished.

"Beyond that... that's all." he said.

"I'm not allowed to say WHAT the guild is, due to rules and regulations and such, but you'll know what it is when you get there." he finished.

"Well, that last statement is now a lie." Darrel proclaimed.

"You DO have something going on." he told her.

"The connections I have managed to get you an interview with a guild." he said further.

"Granted... it's in Ireland, so I'll need to use my portals to get you there, but I have a time for you to get to the guild, as well as a special codename to get in, and a unique password for you." he continued.

"I'll give you the info if you're interested."

"......." Darrel was silent, and sighed.

"Ah... yes." he said.

"You're straight up human." he remembered.

"Sometimes I forget that." he admitted.

"But you have a good life, too... had one... will have... I don't know." he then said, getting flustered, before snapping his fingers suddenly.

"Ah! Yes!" he exclaimed.

"The reason I'm here!" he remembered.

"Do you have plans for tomorrow?" he asked her.

"I'm looking into various places." he told her.

"It's getting to be that time where I head off to them, after all." he reasoned.

"But I think I might be able to get into a place in Japan, or somewhere in Europe." he went on.

"I'm looking deeper into the programs, though." he continued.

"For all I know, I could get a good education somewhere here in Canada." he shrugged.

"Scholarships are a factor, too." he went on.

"I know my parents have a... sizeable... nest egg, but I don't want to rely solely on them." he reasoned.

"That's a good question." Darrel replied.

"I suppose, firstly, I don't want to go into the 'family business'..." he said. "You know, Mom and Dad are both performers, but I don't want that kinda stage fame or whatever." he went on.

"Not sure I can handle it..." he muttered. "It's bad enough being the kid of a pair of celebrity entertainers." he admitted to her.

"But, I AM going out with Samantha Fyrane, and I do end up hanging around her and her mother a lot." he then said. "So the artistic part of that must come from exposure to her and her own art." he reasoned.

"And Vito's Dad, Mister Fenretti, designs and maintains Mom's hearing aid headphones. As such, he tends to come around some, and I overhear him talk about his own tech stuff... it's kinda fascinating, really." he then went on.

"So I guess the two of those things just... merged together into website design."
