Ryker finished up the fish in front of him, and sighed contently.

"Mm." he mumbled. "Fair." he said.

"Ahhh, regardless, there anything you want to do before we move on?" he asked him.

"Because I don't." he told him.

"I'm good to go whenever you are."

Ryker looked at the carcass, and raised an eyebrow.

"Wow." he said.

"Nice." he said further.

"Not surprising, though." he went on.

"After all, you're capable and not a child any longer." he continued.

"You've told me so, yourself." he smirked.

"Well, if anyone would know, it sure isn't me." Ryker said.

"But yeah, we can head towards your destination now." he agreed.

"We can leave whenever you're ready." he then told him.

"Just... yeah, when you feel you're up to it, we'll go." he reiterated.

"Good fish, too." he then complimented him.

"Nope." Ryker responded.

"The concoction was finished." he said.

"We then dumped it into some of the infected water, and it should be systematically seeking out and neutralizing the magic. he went on.

"It'll just take a while, is all." he then said further.

"Around a week or so."

".........." Ryker was silent as Eke said that.

"I..." he stammered.

"I swore I DID sit down..." he said.

"Maybe I was more worn out than I thought..." he muttered further, before sighing.

"Mm. Anyway." he continued, pausing for a moment.

"Good to see you're on the uptick from earlier."

Darrel raised an eyebrow when he read that, before shrugging.

Sure thing! he sent back.

Where and when? he asked her, sending it, and then pausing.

By that, I mean where do you want to meet up, if it's different from where you want to eat. he then sent in a clarification.

With that, he paused for a moment, waiting for her to respond, seeing as he noticed her status was 'online'.

"Suppose I ought to grab a shower before I meet up." he mumbled, making a small timeline in his mind.

Jaden and Darrel nodded.

"You got it." they responded, before leaving.

"You think she'll keep in contact?" Darrel asked Jaden.

"No idea, to be honest." Jaden admitted.

Sure enough, she did. And it turned out that Abby and Darrel were big online friends. They kept in regular contact for some time after that, and he often looked forward to seeing her messages.

He then woke up in the morning from a good night's sleep, and checked his computer, seeing he had a new message.

"Oh, from Abby." he smiled, opening up the conversation window.

Ryker was silent for a moment, before accepting the fish.

"......heh." he chuckled.

"All right. Fair enough." he said.

"But hey, we gotta do what we gotta do." he went on.

"So how are you doing?" he asked.

"You were a bit weak and woozy after that crazy doctor took out all that blood of yours."

"Let's go." Jaden told Darrel.

"Right." Darrel replied.

"Desiree, we'll meet you in Kalin's back office." Jaden then said to her.

"You can sneak your way there, and we can scram without anyone seeing us." he reasoned.

"Otherwise it'll be a bit of a riot."

"A good point." Jaden responded.

"I have nothing more to say about it." he said, wanting to end it, lest HIS own past be brought up.

"Does this change our plans?" Darrel then asked.

"We were supposed to have a late dinner after your show." he reminded Desiree.

"Is that still on, or no?" he asked her.

"Indeed." Jaden said.

"Guess you could say she's a remnant of a life you'd rather leave forgotten about." he told her.

"Seems harsh, Dad..." Darrel commented.

"Perhaps." Jaden said to him.

"But is it wrong?" he then asked Desiree.

Darrel nodded.

"Okay." he said.

"Well, then." Jaden commented.

"Abby, I guess you can leave whenever." he told Abigail.

"I guess... let us know if you need anything, or whatever." he said with a small shrug.

"Can't think of much else to say right now." he then admitted.

Darrel was silent again, before looking nervous, and then speaking up.

"Wait!" he said.

"If you want to stay in regular contact, then it's best done through me." he told her.

"What chat programs do you use?" he asked.

"I can add you and we can keep in contact, far more regularly than through just texting." he reasoned.

"A valid point." Jaden admitted.

Soon after that, Ryker stirred, and opened his eyes.

"Ughn." he grunted.

Oooogh." he groaned further, sitting up.

"My head." he moaned, rubbing the back of his head, and looking around.

"Eh?" he muttered.

"Eke?" he asked, looking in the direction of the young dragon.
