Later on in the day, Darrel was dry from his shower, and had changed into a pair of clean clothes.

He looked at the time, and then picked up his cell phone.

Yo. he sent to Abby.

It's about the time you said you wanted to meet up. he sent further.

Where do you want to meet? he asked.

He then set his phone down, and started to gather what he'd need... wallet, keys, etc.

Darrel was silent, but still in a bit of a huff.

He knew his mother was right.

But... the term 'date' just seemed wrong, considering the subjects were brother and sister. It was just his teenage attitude, though.

He then sighed, and shook his head.

"No comment." he said.

"I gotta make sure I'm ready." he then said, before disappearing from her sight.

Darrel froze for a moment, and he almost looked sick.

"Mom!" he exclaimed.

"She's my sister!" he said, before pausing.

"...that... felt odd to say..." he admitted quietly, before shaking his head.

"Regardless, ew!" he insisted.

"Besides, you KNOW Sammy and me are a thing." he then added.

"So... yeah!" he finished, in a bit of a huff now.

Darrel bit his lip a little, and sighed.

"I suppose I'm not very subtle about it." he said with a light chuckle.

"But... thanks." he said further.

"I guess... well... I don't know, actually." he muttered.

"I just hope I can do something with my life, too." he told her.

"Abby had a rough start, and she's doing so well for herself." he went on. "So I want to do just as well as her, if not better." he added.

Ryker snapped his fingers when the potion was mentioned.

"Ah, right. Forgot that." he admitted.

"Well, then nevermind." he said with a light chuckle... but he stopped when Eke said his name, but then dismissed it.

"Eh?" he muttered.

"There something up?" he asked.

"You know you can talk to me about anything." he added.

"I'm not gonna force you, but don't feel like you gotta hold anything back."

Darrel nodded.

"Yeah..." he said.

"She's done a lot with her life." he went on.

"She's really made something of herself." he continued.

"You must be really proud of her, too." he went on, pausing for a moment, and sighing.

"Anyway, I need to shower and stuff, so I should go and do so." he then told Desiree.

"Hm... ok, fair point." Darrel replied.

"And oh yeah, forgot about that window thing." he added.

"Regardless, I'll let you know when I'm headed out to meet Abby." he told her.

"....hey, Mom?" he then addressed her.

"Are... you glad that Abby's back in your life?"

Darrel just sighed.

"I know." he replied.

"But I suppose what you taught me of letting you know where I am and what I'm doing has stuck." he told her with a small smirk.

"Also, yeah, good point about the sun thing." he then admitted.

"....wait, so do you have sunscreen on or something?" he asked.

"Because you're RIGHT in that sunbeam. Like you're Kitt or something." he chuckled.

Ryker just rolled his eyes.

"Mmhmm." he said.

"So, how far are we from the capital?" he asked.

"And how are we getting there?" he asked further, before pausing.

"...and how am I getting in?" he then inquired.

"Remember, you said I wouldn't be received too well."

"Abby contacted me." he said.

"Said she wants to meet up later, grab food." he told her.

"Don't got anything going on today, so I said I would." he went on.

"Just figured you should know." he reasoned.

"...also, still weird to see you sitting in the sunlight like that." he then said further, on another topic.

"You know... considering... what we're a family of and all..."

"....that explains it." Darrel muttered.

Sure thing. he replied, before getting offline.

He then stepped away from his computer, and poked his head out of his bedroom.

"...Mom!?" he called out.

"You home!?" he asked.

He figured he needed to at least tell ONE of his parents where he'd be going. They'd raised him to do so, after all.

'It's pretty early, odds are she is.' he thought, stepping out fully into the hallway.

"...................." Darrel was silent for a moment, unsure as to how to respond to that.

Yeah... sure, that works. he sent.

"I'll... call her later." he then told himself.

"Time's fine, but... still don't know where..." he muttered.

"Maybe she's coming here or something." he added with a shrug.

Anything else before I get offline to get stuff done? he then sent.

Ryker paused for a moment, smiled, and pulled Eke in close.

"Back atcha." he said, giving him a hug.

"You make my life worth something." he told him.

"Which is to say... it's a life worth living with you in it." he then clarified.

"That might sound sappy and dramatic, but it's truth."

"I get it." Ryker responded.

"Fear of the unknown." he said.

"You don't know what you'll find. You don't know what will happen." he continued.

"And this is important stuff, after all." he reasoned.

"Only natural to nervous and/or scared."
