"You will need to kill people." Sharp said bluntly.

"If innocents are in danger, you will be required to kill. Whether it be through human means, or using your own unique talents." he told her further.

"We here at the Unit are committed to protecting the public, by any means." he went on.

"Nobody here is truly 'clean', but that's why we're so effective." he then reasoned.

"Ah!" he then said, seeming to remember something.

"Right, I almost forgot." he said further, digging through a drawer.

"Your signing bonus." he finished, taking out a chequebook.

"Indeed." Sharp responded.

"As did Illias." he said.

"Character witnesses go a long way here." he told her. "And having those two vouch for yours was a huge help for you." he told her.

"I can see you're what we're looking for.' he continued.

"And you don't need to relocate, obviously. We want you up there." he went on.

"Welcome to the team, Agent Winchester." he said, extending his hand.

Sharp nodded in response.

"Very well." he said.

"In addition to regular days off, we will schedule you days off to coincide with the lunar cycle." he told her.

He then started to check something on his computer, and nodded again.

"Well, then." he said.

"Here you are." he told her, taking some papers out of his desk and sliding them towards her.

"Sign these, and you're hired."

"You're not expected to so do alone, no." Sharp responded.

"Now... some personal info." he said.

"This is a place of non-judgement and safety." he went on.

"Tell me what you are, and what special needs or resources you require." he continued.

"Is there anything we can do to help you?"

Sharp nodded in response.

"Well, as a liaison, your duties will be mostly administrative. Paperwork and such, but with a lot of travelling." he told her.

"That being said, there WILL be times when you'll need to step in and get things done yourself... such as when time is precious, or it's an emergency." he went on.

"I realize this is pointless to ask, given your previous/current line of work, but I must ask." he went on.

"Can you handle something like that?"

"Well, we're looking for someone that can deal with a random schedule." Sharp responded.

"And by that, I mean that the hours you'll work on a daily basis can change, depending on where you're needed, and when." he told her.

"We're looking for someone that knows the law, and someone that isn't afraid to get their hands dirty." he went on.

"Also, having greater strength than average, or quicker reflexes than normal, or any heightened senses is a plus, but not necessarily required." he then told her.

"Tell me, do you fulfill these requirements?" he asked.

"You are correct on the position, and what it entails." Sharp responded.

"As for what we do... well... hmmm..." he mumbled.

"Actually, I know the best way to put this." he told her, nodding slightly.

"You might be done believing in the boogeyman, but the problem is... HE still believes in YOU." he said. "We, as the Unit, are sworn to protect people from what they know nothing of, and to keep it a secret." he told her.

"We are a shadow branch of the government." he went on.

"But in the best way possible." he clarified.

"Now... are you genuinely interested in taking the position of liaison?" he then asked her.

Sharp just smiled at her.

"Thank you for taking the time to come out here." he responded.

"Now, tell me." he said.

"What do you know of this place? What we, as the Unit, do?" he asked her.

"And how much do you know of the position you're being interviewed for?"

Sure enough, about 15 minutes later, she saw someone come out of Sharp's office, and a few more minutes after that, she heard a voice a male voice come on a small speaker system on the secretary's desk.

"Is Miss Winchester waiting?" he asked.

"She is." the secretary replied.

"Send her in." the male voice responded.

The secretary gestured to the door, and Averie made her way inside, closing the door behind her. She immediately noticed the man with dark skin and a shaved head sitting behind the large desk.

"Hello." he greeted Averie.

"So we finally meet." he said.

"A risk?" Illias asked.

"No... not from what I can tell." he replied.

"Not at all, from what I've seen." he continued, as they reached a closed door.

"All right, you can tell the secretary you're here." he told her.

"And then you'll need to wait to be called into Sharp's office." he said further.

"Shouldn't be too long, though."

"Not really." Illias responded.

"He's a good man and a reasonable person." he told her.

"Just... don't ask what he is." he said.

"He'll tell you when he's ready. There are still people here in the Unit that don't know." he admitted. "Myself included." he continued.

"It's a bit of a sore spot." he then mumbled.

"Beyond that, things should be cool."

"Sometimes." Illias responded.

"Depends on how one acts, if they give him trouble, or the Unit's been under attack recently." he told her.

"He's really good at his job." he continued.

"And I'm sure you could smell that he's different... but quite similar to myself." he then added.

"It's what makes him so effective, really."

Jake went back to his newspaper, and Illias nodded.

"Let's go." he said.

With that, the two of them were walking through the hallways, and Illias smiled at Averie.

"Welcome to the Unit." he told her.

"Glad you could make it." he chuckled.

"Jake didn't give you too much of a hard time, did he?" he asked her.

"I'll have someone escort you there." the man replied.

He then looked inside, and saw Illias walking by.

"Ah, perfect." he said.

"Yo!" he called to the man.

Illias stopped and looked over, before smiling.

"Oh, hello again Officer Winchester." he greeted Averie.

"Can you get her to Sharp's office?" the guard asked.

"Sure thing, Jake." Illias replied.
