Rene sighed.

"I..." he stammered.

"Her tests said she didn't." he said.

"I think she's just really REALLY timid." he went on.

"You know... doesn't want to bother anyone and all that sorta thing."

Rene just tread water for a moment, and then sighed.

"Well... you know she is." he said.

"It doesn't occur to her to seek medical attention for stuff." he went on.

Just then, her cell chimed.

Well, she has bruises all over, but that's not why I ask. Her breathing is unusually shallow, but it doesn't seem like it's forced. It's like if she tried to breathe deeply, it would hurt her, if that makes sense. Jaden sent her.

Jaden had been up and about for another 45 minutes or so, before making his way back to his room.

Where he found he still couldn't sleep.

".....fuck it." he growled to himself.

He'd heard Desiree make her way to the den, but he needed to put this to rest.

So he grabbed his phone, and sent Kalin a text.

Sorry if this wakes you up, but is Desiree the sort to hide serious injuries, or ignore them? he sent.

Jaden had heard the shower turn on, and then sighed.

"I can't sleep now." he said.

"Maybe some tea will help." he muttered.

"May as well." he told himself.

He then got up and made his way to the kitchen to boil some water.

"...aged earl grey, maybe? Nah. Maybe just green tea." he said to himself.

Jaden watched her go off, and shook his head some.

"....really not sure if I buy that." he muttered.

He then sighed, before making his way to his own room, and laying back on his bed.

"....." he stared at the ceiling in silence, before looking around some.

"I should... probably get Rene to look at her." he told himself.

"That breathing... it surely alludes to internal damage..." he reasoned.

Jaden shook his head.

"No, go ahead." he told her.

"Shower's free for you to use." he said.

"So go ahead and take a shower." he added with a small smile.

"Anything else?" he asked.

"Oh, and feel free to raid the kitchen if need be." he added.

".........hm." Jaden muttered.

"If you say so." he said.

He still wasn't sure about her.

That pink water from when she was in the tub worried him. And her breathing seemed... off.

He wondered JUST how hurt she was.

But he'd call Kalin and ask about it... maybe get Rene to take a look at her.

".....that's concerning." Jaden responded.

"Is there anything I can do to help?" he then asked.

As he asked this, he noticed her breathing.

It seemed to be erratic, which was not surprising, but the breaths were... short.

"......." he was silent, before sighing.

"You sure you're okay?" he asked.

"Not hurt or anything?" he asked further.

"No apologies needed." Jaden responded.

"I was just on my way TO bed, actually." he admitted.

"But that's not important." he continued.

"What about you?" he asked. "Are YOU all right?" he asked her.

"You looked like you were having a really serious nightmare, and were thrashing about pretty violently." he informed her.

"Are you doing okay?"

Jaden quickly used his portals to get in front of her when she tripped.

He then leaned forward and placed his hands on her shoulders.

He didn't grab them, though.

If she recoiled and struggled, she'd break out of his 'grasp' easily.

He just wanted her to know where she was, and that he was there.

And that he meant her no harm.

'Oh, shit....' Jaden thought.

'That's just going to compound upon itself until it reaches a very bad conclusion.' he realized.

He then sighed and rushed in, turning the light on as he did so.

He knew that calling to her would do no good... she was deaf. He had a feeling that shaking her wouldn't help... it would probably bolster her nightmare. So he did the one thing he could think of.

He grabbed the blanket, and pulled at it as hard as he could, trying to open it up so she had room to move around in, at least.

Jaden's eyes widened when he heard that.

'All right.' he thought.

'I need to be prepared.' he told himself.

'Though it's probably just a nightmare.' he went on.

'....should be.' he continued.

'The security here should be tighter than anything.' he reasoned, before he slowly cracked the door open, and peeked inside.

'.....eh?' Jaden thought.

'She can't be awake, can she?' he thought further.

'...I really shouldn't be listening...' he told himself, before sighing.

'But I can't help myself.' he lamented.

With that, he pressed his ear up against her door, and concentrated, keeping as quiet as he knew how.

"Heh. I should hope so." he replied.

"Anyway, I got a pizza loaded with the meats, and a chicken pizza." he told her.

"As well as an order of cheesy bread sticks, some chicken popper nuggety things, and a thick brownie for dessert." he went on.

"Also, what pop do you prefer?" he asked.

"The 7up or the Cherry Coke?" he asked further.

"Decide that while I grab plates and glasses." he finished, before getting up to do so.
