Jaden's eyes widened when he heard all that.

"I..." he stammered.

"Ah..." he stuttered further.

"I mean... that's... well... that's not... entirely... UNTRUE..." he said.

"Okay, it's all true." he admitted.

"Spot on, true."

Jaden took the deck and shuffled them as she instructed. He did so for about 30 seconds, before setting the deck down in front of her. Once he did, he took a stack of cards from the top and placed it to the left. He then did the same with the remainder of the cards, placing the other pile on the right.

"There." he said.

"Shuffled and divided thrice." he told her.

"And some might say that without knowing who I really am, this could be more accurate." he reasoned.

'If one believes in that sort of thing.' he added mentally.

Jaden just smiled.

"You're welcome." he said.

"Think nothing of it." he told her.

When she then made her offer, he smirked a little, himself.

'How quaint.' he thought.

"Heh. Sure." he chuckled.

"Engage in a little bit of divination unto my future." he told her, using some olde English.

Jaden lightly clapped his hands together when she said that.

"Ah, excellent." he said.

"I DID choose wisely." he commented,

"I remember you saying you liked tarot cards when we first met." he told her.

"And to thank you for exposing me to new information about your Eye, I decided to get you something I thought you'd enjoy, and there was a good chance you didn't have." he went on.

"So there you go."
Posted in Darkness before Dawn [Lunakiri x Colin] Posted 7 years ago
"I appreciate that." Jaden replied.

"But you really helped me get out of an old way of thinking that I was stuck in." he told her.

"And for that, I wish to repay you." he said.

"Here." he told her, pushing the bag over towards her.

Inside the bag was a deck of tarot cards. But it was a very rare, hard to find deck. Mostly because the artist that did them had died decades ago, had made limited quantities of them, and the artwork on them was considered to be superior.

"I do hope I chose wisely." Jaden said.

Jaden just sighed.

"Slow." he responded.

"Well, at first, anyway." he said.

"The first part was reading about things I already knew, and were unpleasant." he told her.

"However, when I started to get into things I DIDN'T know, it became a lot easier to get through." he admitted.

"So, overall, I'd call it a pleasant way to spend a few weeks." he went on.

"Rather enlightening, as well." he added.

".....all right." Jaden replied.

"I'll go get my drink, then." he said.

He then made his way to the front counter, got his coffee, and then made his way back to her.

He sat down across from her, put his drink down, put the black and purple bag down as well, and smiled.

"So." he said.

"Hi again." he greeted her.

Jaden just nodded.

"All right." he replied.

He then thought for a moment, before smiling.

"You say you're not very hungry." he commented.

"Want to split a waffle?" he asked.

"Oftentimes a sweet tooth is completely separate from hunger." he reasoned with a chuckle.
Posted in Darkness before Dawn [Lunakiri x Colin] Posted 7 years ago
Jaden just sighed in response.

"That's a relief." he said.

"I mean, that you weren't waiting long!" he quickly clarified.

"Er, anyway..." he then muttered.

"What do you want?" he asked.

"I'll go and order it for you." he offered.

"I haven't been here in a while, but I remember their waffles are addictively decadent." he added with a chuckle.

However, just as she was wondering that, she saw the man in question running through the park, towards the William's. It seemed he was in a real hurry, as well.

He sped towards the rear entrance of the establishment, stepped inside, looked around, and upon locating Desiree, made his way over towards where she was.

"SO sorry." he apologized.

"I was unexpectedly held up." he told her.

He then took out his phone, looked at the clock, and sighed.

"15 minutes late." he lamented.

"I'm REALLY sorry about this, I'm usually only 5 minutes late when I AM late." he told her.

"I swear."

Sounds like a plan. Jaden replied.

He then ran his fingers through his bangs, and nodded.

Yep, works just fine for me. he sent.

I'll see you there at 1. he finished.

"...I should have enough time to get ready." he told himself, as he headed towards his bathroom to get cleaned up.

Jaden looked at her suggestion, and nodded to himself.

Sure, works for me. he sent.

Give me a time. he told her.

I'll be there on it, I promise. he finished.

"William's, huh?" he muttered to himself.

"Been a while since I've been THERE..." he admitted.

Jaden read the text back, and smirked.

Sure. he sent.

Where? he asked.

I'm fine with just about anywhere. he then sent.

After he sent the last one, he sighed and looked over at a small black and purple bag that was beside him.

"...." he was silent for a moment, before nodding.

Jaden watched his mother go, before making his way to the basement. He went through the door in question, and rummaged through the books that were there, before finding two rather thick tomes on the subject.

"....oh dear." he said.

"Never thought they'd be THIS thick..." he mumbled.

He then sighed and left the pocket dimension, before using his portals to leave, appearing back at his suite apartment.

"...guess it's time to hit the books." he said to himself.

And so he did. He read those books with every spare moment he had... save for one afternoon where he went shopping for something. And sure enough, about 2 and a half weeks later, Desiree received a text from him, containing 5 simple words.

I did my homework.
