Forgive, O Lord,
my little jokes on thee...

Azazel poured himself some more drink, and looked at her.
"....hm." he mumbled.
"Maybe a little over a century or so?" he said, thinking about it. "No, wait, a couple of centuries." he recalled.
"Pretty much started working for the Unit when I was up here, and was an 'away field agent' for most of that, until Aedan had to bail me out of a mission gone wrong." he explained.
"Since then, been spending more time AT the actual Unit."

Azazel could only laugh quietly at that.
"Eh-heh... yeah, it's... it's been a while." he told her.
"Now, admittedly, my time as... uh, NOT a pet and slave to Lilith and then Lil... has been a lot shorter." he admitted. "And my time of being allowed on the surface of this realm is even shorter, still." he continued.
"All things considered, my being here on earth has comprised an insignificant length of time, relatively speaking." he went on. "...that being said, I like to think it's where I truly started to do more than just exist." he shrugged.
"Sorry for the sudden dump of info, by the way." he then apologised.
"It's not that I was hiding it from you on purpose, I just... rarely talk about it. To ANYONE." he stressed.

Azazel made his way to the pitcher and paused again, thinking about it.
"Thousands of years ago." he said.
"...as in, before the mantle was passed to the current upstairs manager." he clarified.
"Things were... well, a bit different back then." he mumbled. "I'm sure if she could, she would have reversed this whole situation I'm in, but... well, there are certain things even out of HER grasp." he lamented.
"The position comes with inheriting the previous' actions, and making do."

Azazel paused again, before clearing his throat.
"Ah, maybe 'monster' was a bit harsh." he said.
"I don't know how to explain it, but the fragment just really helps me not be such a stereotypical demon." he told her. "Granted, it's not necessary, but those that still have fragments of their former selves have a much better time trying to move forward with this existences." he went on.
"Also, yes." he then said.
"More would be lovely."

"Yes and no." Azazel replied.
"I was aware of something, and it was something familiar. But I'd been without it for so long, I had to be told it was there... before it really clicked." he explained to her.
"And it's... well, it's mostly a comfort thing." he then said.
"This piece of halo essentially gives me compassion, and allows me to grow as a person while on the surface." he went on.
"Oh, and the ambrosia is just allowing the halo fragment to feel the warmth and love of God, even if briefly." he mumbled quietly.

Again, Azazel paused as she said that, coming to a realisation.
"Oh. Right, my glamour went down when I drank this, didn't it?" he asked.
"Momentarily." Erica responded.
"Forgot it did that." Azazel chuckled sheepishly, but he could tell she wanted an answer. And she had more info on him now, anyway, he may as well go the while nine yards.
"It's... a remnant of my former life." he said.
"When I was an angel, I had a halo. When I was a Fallen, it was a cracked halo. And... well, long story short, Lil had a fragment of my halo with her ever since I was made her 'pet', and when she restored my broken horn to its former full glory, she grafted that fragment into it." he explained.
"The ambrosia must cause it to react slightly."

Azazel just sighed again.
"Lovely." he mumbled.
"That's... just wonderful." he said.
"I'm just glad you're okay now." he told her, finishing what he had in the glass, with the same thing happening once more, the glamour dropping and the small gold band on one of his horns.
"Oh, thank you." he murmured.
"It's nice to feel Heaven's embrace again... even if momentarily."

Azazel seemed to be in sheer nirvana for close to 5 seconds, before he 'came back down to earth' and cleared his throat and mind. He then looked over towards her, and nodded slowly.
"Yeah." he said. "I am." he confirmed.
"Also, not surprising. Ambrosia is pretty much the ultimate aphrodisiac, but... well, that's a side-effect." he told her. "Most things from Heaven are like that, admittedly." he added.
"...and I'm sorry you went through that." he then sighed.
"Outright stabbed." he muttered.
"Were you just attacked out of nowhere or something?"
"Yeah." he said. "I am." he confirmed.

Azazel paused for a moment, considering that.
"...oh yeah." he said. "That's true." he remembered. "So I suppose 'upstairs management' just turns a blind eye to the occasional ambrosia brought down here by him." he reasoned, before pausing. And freezing.
And realising what he had just said.
"F-F-Figuratively speaking, of course!" he said to the sky in a bit of a panicked tone.
He then quickly brought the glass to his mouth and took a drink... before quickly downing a little over half of the glass. And as he did so, Erica saw that his glamour faded away for a brief moment... and during that moment, a small golden band glowed around one of his horns, from within... quickly fading, and then his glamour returning.

Azazel smiled at her and nodded, before quickly heading inside. He was only indoors for about 20 seconds, returning with a glass, as she had told him to. He walked over towards her, and looked at the drink, and then to her.
"Man." he said.
"You are some kinda lucky to be able to actually HAVE ambrosia." he told her.
"The perks of being involved with an archangel, I suppose." he chuckled. "Even regular angels have a lot of trouble getting that stuff down here to the surface." he said further.
"Supposed to be really good for your health, too." he went on.
"Like, promotes a healthy body and stuff." he clarified.

Azazel just shrugged.
"Maybe. Maybe not." he said.
"Individual circumstances vary, but... well, as it stands, there is none for me." he revealed. "However, that is primarily due to my 'caretaker of Cerberus' status." he quickly said.
"Seems since I've taken the job, things run a lot more smoothly down there, which means tensions are just that smidgen looser between Heaven and Hell." he explained to her further.
"So, depends what happens when the torch of the Queen of Hell is passed, so to speak." he finished.

"...very well, then." Gabe responded, taking a few cautious steps back, and disappearing in a flash of a pillar of light, leaving the two of them there alone once more... as Azazel sighed.
"Archangels always intimidate me." he lamented. "...or, rather, I am always intimidated by the presence of them." he clarified. "Surprisingly few actively TRY to do so." he said further.
"And speaking of archangels, Anya was one." he then revealed to Erica.
"It's why she's as strong as she is." he said further.
"But... yeah, I was an angel. I rebelled against Heaven, and I'm a demon now, paying for my past transgressions."

"...not all demons." Azazel replied. "Some are created down in Hell." he told her.
"A lot are spawned in Hell." Gabriel chimed in. "Generally speaking, when a demon has an actual NAME, it means they're from a more... involved... origin, than merely being spawned by Hell energy." he said further.
"And yes, the one called Anya was an angel as well." he continued.
"Oh, and I was coming out to tell you that I am going to check upstairs for information on if anything is going on down here." he then told Erica.
"...will you be all right down here?" he asked her, looking at Azazel with slightly narrowed eyes.

Azazel froze for a moment, before looking over towards her.
"Oh... right. You don't know." he said.
"..." he was then silent for a moment, seemingly hesitant to tell her, before Gabriel stepped out from the building.
"I have told you of Fallen Angels, yes?" he asked Erica.
"Yes..." Erica responded quietly.
"When a Fallen Angel is finally destroyed, whether it be on this realm, or directly from Heaven, they make their full transformation, and become a demon." the archangel explained.
