@Valefor: wishing you luck~ Have you been working on the detective event at all?

@DevilkinBoi: can't all be sunshine. :vanora_sweat:
@Totalanimefan: they are. but it took some wrestling to get to it and it's gonna take a while to finally get it? see above post when I forgot to ping you. lol.

also for flights, there were four of us that booked the same flight, but I was the only person who was able to get their ticket refunded... Strange. So yeah I wouldn't book your July flight right now. at least until they come up with coherent policies for refunds and flight changes. It's gonna be cheaper anyway given all that's going on right now.

@vengeance: thank you for your sympathy
imho, It's mostly the fault of the owner of the property who posted a listing, set up automatic booking confirmations and then evaporated from the face of the earth. But on the part of the site, it's also absolutely stupid that they won't do anything about it for over a week.

Anyway, I was finally able to get a hold of *someone reasonable* today and get the refund started. So that's a step towards the right direction. But they still need to "process" the thing so idk when I'm gonna hear back.

I appreciate that they got people working over the holidays at least. Coulda been worse.

@DevilkinBoi: but then they also introduced the idea that everyone only has a limited pool of happiness and if you use all of it up too early, you'll live the rest of your life miserable.
very uplifting world view.

This reminds of one of Dwayne Perkin's jokes about people eating cake to celebrate in the place of drinking.

I like a good moist mousse cake or tiramisu.

@Count Trashula: EW that sucks!!
Maybe the stress of everything is making it worse.
Do you have any idea of what it might be? dust? hay fever? *gluten*?

@Valefor: they typically happen between events, so about once a week or once two weeks? Can't remember how long events are supposed to last for. But the gold fish events are usually last three days.

Yeah, that's how it is if i don't want to spend all my life earnings on this game like a proper otaku.

@DevilkinBoi: I read a manga a lonnnnnng time ago with a premise about how everyone gets popular three times in their life. And this hopeless otaku guy is finally getting his first chance in his mid 30s. so maybe it's in your future still. That manga goes exactly like how you might think it goes, but don't let it detract from the idea that everyone gets their chance.

Honestly that's what I'm finding with work from home too, no work life separation. but I don't also have a 3-yr-old. It must be a lot of work to keep the wee one sane too.

I think you have the right to be accomodated by other people too, I'm pretty sure everyone is expected to be flexible so advocate for yourself and your kid. Do it for him! You're not in it alone.

This also just shows me that the workplace just doesn't value the work of mothers, and then she's the one everyone blames when they mess up in life. Smh.

@DevilkinBoi: i forgot that maybe you are a mythical popular person. 😂

@Valefor: 🤭hohoho aren't we all?

They level up quite quickly with the goldfish events. :3 but I'm not so diligent and always miss them. Hahaha. So I'm constantly in a dilemma, earn event points for preety cards or level up my cards? So tough...

@DevilkinBoi: I mainly feel bad for actually popular people for having their tribe being portrayed this way. But then again most of the world isn't popular, and since popular people are so good at making friends, most of their friends are gonna be unpopular so their tribe's actually unpopular people like the rest of us.

@vengeance: i heard somebody say that often when people "disagree" so fundamentally about something really dumb, it's because they actually disagree about how the world works... And how someone thinks the world works is a whole entire system of beliefs, a house of cards they're adamant about keeping erect so it's impossible to change just one card in the middle.

I mean, a lot's already going wrong. not gonna belabour that point.

It's really funny in a really sad way.

@Valefor: i mean flirting with everyone is something i always wanted to do in irl but can't because that's creepy so.

Ending? :o Well, I guess there is the one when the central mystery is solved right now. But they've just written the chapter after it so, there's lots to look forward to~ But you still have lots of time to catch up!

@DevilkinBoi: I feel like that happens in anime a lot, where like, the "popular dude" in the show is actually not that popular with the fans. lol. If we look at actual popular people irl, they're often nice and warm and charming (i mean sometimes that's the product of wealth and being good looking but I digress). The point is that they're likeable that's how you get popular. But in like anime and games and stuff they tend to come off as somehow Not likeable, which is so weird.
The only time that I can remember actually liking the "popular dude" character was in samurai champloo. Like I legitimately thought he was awesome and he was definitely not like the less important character beside mugen... even though I can't recall his name right now. lol.
not only is it a bummer that the trip was cancelled, but also bummer that i have now spent maybe an entire work day trying to get refunded despite the fact that the site policy said they will refund all service fees...
idk why cs rep suggested I talk to the property owner because they have no authority to give me refund. lol. also not the owner of the account so...

>.> im irritated
@Amber Lynne: Bless.
