It was supposed to resemble me but looks more like a tired slightly heavy Tony Stark (which isn't how I look irl).

@Tuijp: Yeah it does. ^_^ I didn't know about that until my son started dating his boyfriend who is Jewish. He stays at our house all weekend, after going to services on Friday evenings. He brings over left over Challah if there is any and likes to make french toast for my son in the morning. Lol.
What herbs do you use?

For some reason, I got Naan bread mixed up with Challah bread. Idk why. I was about to tell you that it makes good french toast. Lmao.
Naan bread is good though. : ) I look forward to it when I go for Indian food. Lol

Posted in I made a terrible mistake

My whole life consists of nothing but mistakes, so idk where to even begin...
Well, here's one: When I was 18, I lived on my own with my late wife and newborn and I supported us by operating printing presses.
I had this one time where I came in and we had to set up a new job that just got passed through preflight, preflight being the step where you get the plates (like a template made of metal with the image laser burned onto it that is then attached to the press to transfer said image to the printed product) made, checked by quality control and approved. So, I was hanging the plate on the rollers and looking over the checklist. I have tritanopia, a type of color vision deficiency, which is a more correct term for color blindness. Most color blind people can see colors, just not certain ones. Only monochromatic color blindness makes a person unable to see colors. Anyway, I can't see yellow or any colors made by mixing yellow. So to me green appears as blue, orange appears like a red/pinkish color and yellow appears like a very pale pink. It almost looks white to me. Anyway, I think you can guess the mistake I made. I got confused on the ink color and put blue in the ink reservoir instead of green and luckily, my work partner realized the mistake quickly. We didn't even begin printing but it still was a pain in the ass because we had to clean the reservoir, which took a bit. We ended up being pretty behind schedule. Lol. I don't remember why I was in charge of inking the press even though they definitely knew I have a color vision deficiency.
Edit: Also, just going to point out before anyone accuses me of lying about tritanopia bc my avatar has green rn, when I make avatars using colors I don't see correctly, I usually have my fiancée, friends and/or kids help me match colors. I also found a nifty tool on a site for color blind awareness where I can enter hex values and match colors. It's pretty helpful.

I tend to whisper dialogue I make up for hypothetical situations I day dream about. You can generally tell what I am fantasizing about at that moment because you can hear me whisper the entire dialogue. Lmao. Its got me into some awkward and uncomfortable situations.
I also rip dry skin off of my lips when I am very bored or nervous. When I am bored, I do it because I have adhd and need to be doing something with my hands at all times.
I am not aware of when I do these things. I only know I do this stuff because I have been told.

Posted in Question for language learners.
Posted 7 years ago
So, I posted this on another avatar site. I know that there are a lot of people on here who are language learners who do not go on said site. So, I figured I would duplicate the thread on here. Why? Because I'm nosey curious.
If you learn a foreign language, what is the reason you chose that specific language? Was it school, a friend, a significant other, tv, video games, religion or music? Or was it just random? I'm a Linguaphile, so it doesn't take a whole lot to spark my interest in a foreign language.
For me, I usually get interested in languages and cultures if I know someone who speaks said language. I want to learn Icelandic because of my late wife, I am learning Spanish because my fiancée, I am learning Vietnamese because of a friend, Czech because of some kids I have, Irish because I was born in Ireland, Manx because I have family from Isle of Man, Thai because of a close friend, Tibetan because I believe in Buddhist teaching and Romanian from an friend I used to have but continue because of a new friend. However, I have a few languages I am interested in just because it sounded like fun to learn, such as Chinese (which I ended up minoring in and becoming a Chinese teacher for 10 years), Korean and Swahili.
I find language learning fun and relaxing because I'm obviously weird like that , so I find all of this really enjoyable. : )

@Another Movie Addict: Well, I feel like your mental health is a necessity and warrants going out on her day off. If you can't, I'm sort of out of suggestions to help you. : / I wish you luck though!

My mom said vinegar soaking works as well. I seem to always forget vinegar at the store. I have a bad habit of going to the store for one specific item and come out with the entire store, except the item I went for. xD

@Another Movie Addict: Hmm. I know your social anxiety is acting up but do you happen to live with someone else who has rights to know your medical history (if you've signed a release or listed them as an emergency contact) and can call on your behalf? If you don't, do you have a parent or grandparent who has said rights and can call? I don't know how your social anxiety goes but I'm sure talking to one of them and expressing your needs and what you want them to do for you would be easier than strangers at a doctors' office.
