@Apollo Im Burning: It is an amazing hat. Its the hat I was wearing when I got engaged. I DO have those pics, I'll try to make a collage and get back to you :)

I've had the most luck going places in person on top of applying. I go in first and let them meet me before the application or interview process. I let them know I'm about to apply and to keep an eye out. Then, after I apply, I call them every other day until they set up an interview. I also don't drive so it makes it a lot harder, but I let them know that and I let them know I make it happen and am always early or on time. Being annoying has gotten me the most interviews and eventually hires... but thats just my personal experience. People who say its easy to get a job are some lucky folks... if anyone actually is hiring, chances are goo lots of people are applying, and being qualified means a whole lot less.

I recently had a lot of job problems myself. I was a retail manager for a long time, then I was unemployed for months and could not figure out what I was doing wrong. My disability also limits my search criteria so I completely understand where you're coming from. I even got a job that I never got to work at because they put me in an impossible situation when they learned of my disability. BUT! I did get a job recently, so I know you can too! What methods are you using to search? Do you have a resume?

Oh wow, Im going to have to look these folks up when its not too early to be blasting melodic death metal. The Hedonistic Manifesto sounds right up my alley.

@Apollo Im Burning: My personal best, time wise, was a fifteen minute hamburgler costume I pulled out one year when I had no chance to go shopping... Easy enough for a woman who always has a hamburger shaped hat within reach. Took me about an hour to make last years costume, and usually no more than that if I've got mostly makeup to worry about. Spent a short week on my Barbariana costume, and it was by far the best I've done,

@Concentricity: I finally did the thing! 3 MONTHS LATER *dies* Sorry it took so long, I hope you like it!
@Robyn: Theres not too many, you just have to get creative with your approach. Get a popular fast food chain to start an annual sale. Petition folks to help you write letters. Buy late night add space and suggest it subliminally. Endless possibilities!!
@Robyn: No way. I'm just going to write the calendar companies.
@Robyn: Lets make these dreams a reality!

I make my own costume every year, usually last-minute. Last year I was Princess Carolyn just because I found a passable pink wig. Starting projects way late fuels you to greatness... you'll find more creativity when forced to come up with quick solutions. Crunch time is a magical time.
Not that I'm not ok with this being a day, but... who comes up with national "whatever" days? I want that job. Imagine the fun I could spread to the masses.
Arrgh, also.
