I am 1/5 of the way there!! There is light at the end of the tunnel!!
Actually though, I don't think I've ever posted this much in my life but it's been really fun. I feel like I've talked to a lot of people and it's nice. Like... actually being part of the community haha

Posted in Silly Laws
Posted 6 years ago
Oh this reminds me of a poster that my 8th grade history teacher had that listed a whole bunch of these kinds of laws on it. I can't remember most of them anymore, but I think one of them was "it's illegal to engage in sexual activities with a porcupine" (or something similar). Sometimes I think about how these laws were made and you know... someone must have started it.
Here are some fun California laws:
It is illegal to wash your neighbor's car without their permission. (Idk man you can wash my car anytime you want)
Sunshine is guaranteed to the masses. (welcome to the Golden State. what happens when it rains?)
It is illegal for a Californian to ride their bicycle through a public swimming pool. (I only wish I was capable of doing that)

@WhatAJoy: True, that's a very good way to look at it (and most things) haha
Well, by answering all those questions at least you got a really hilarious story out of it that you can tell everyone! I can't say that I would have been any sharper in that moment tbh I'm pretty gullible. Were your coworkers aware this conversation was happening? haha

@WhatAJoy: Okay I'm glad that you thought it was funny because I definitely laughed really hard at your post
But I can't help but think that if I were in your place, I would have been very uncomfortable haha

Posted in What does your happy place look like?

Hmm I think my happy place is anywhere that's very open, vast, and devoid of people. Sometimes it's an enormous green field, and sometimes it's an empty road in the middle of nowhere. No matter the place, I always imagine myself standing in it and facing towards the sky - this image comes to my mind a lot when I'm trying to escape reality...

Since when was the Halloween spirit of being nice and giving free candy to people only reserved for kids under the age of 12??
The statement in this article doesn't even make sense. "A 13-year-old trick-or-treating is fine" and then "we're gonna fine anyone over the age of 12 that's trick-or-treating"
??

@WhatAJoy: This story was quite a ride. I'm pretty sure I can imagine the exact voice you heard on the phone, it was that descriptive wow
I want to think that he was just an innocent teenager trying to buy panties for his girlfriend but uhhh that conversation is really trying to tell me otherwise
@Mousy: Man I don't even know what to say about this... just... really... awful
I just can't comprehend the amount of hate that people can have geez
@Luffer Nutter: AX is definitely bigger than any of the ones on the east coast, yeeeep
APPARENTLY this lady thought she should make the baby food herself??

@Luffer Nutter: Honestly I signed too many nondisclosure forms as a volunteer and I don't know if I'm legally allowed to say, but it's the largest anime convention in North America /cough
?? Who was she trying to fool with that excuse?? I'm?? Also that would be very gross??
@Mousy: Oh mannn these are gold (sorry that they had to happen to you though...)
I feel like in general adults are harder to deal with? I don't understand how they can be less mature than their 7-year-olds.

Does anyone have any frustrating (but terribly entertaining) customer service stories? Whether you were the one working customer service, or someone else gave you really bad customer service?
So... every year I volunteer to staff at an anime convention. My department sells tickets to special events, and our policy is that you must bring your ID. Well, one of the attendees didn't bring her ID so I couldn't give her the ticket, and then she starts crying and everything becomes really awkward. But I can't do anything about it because... that's our policy and I'm just a volunteer... so I apologize profusely but she continues to cry in front of my booth for the next 20 minutes. I end up harassing management 5 times until I finally convince them to let me give her the ticket so she'll leave my booth.
yikes

Ugh same
Whenever I get home from work I just feel too tired to do anything. Even though I have a pretty decent amount of free time each night, I feel like I don't do anything during the week other than work. The only time I get anything done is on the weekends...

maybe sleeping all the time? (;
a big mood
I have no business being awake at 4am. My biological clock just doesn't let me sleep through it sigh
@Totalanimefan: Hmmm my sleep schedule is pretty consistent but I can't bring myself to call it... proper...
My optimal amount of sleep is 5-6 hours. If I sleep more than 6 hours I actually end up feeling more tired when I wake up

Today I have to atone for my sins by somehow posting 16 more times god help me
I often end up having to teach my parents how to do things like use apps and set up online accounts for things like paying bills, insurance, etc. And I don't mind; in general they learn pretty fast, but MAN some of these apps/websites are so poorly designed and unintuitive that I get frustrated with it. I can't blame them for not knowing how to work it.
