I have a Facebook. I never post photos or update my status. I don't feel the need to constantly update everyone on my life; if you want an update, just talk to me directly. I mostly only use Facebook to message my friends; it's convenient for that.

I also used Facebook a lot while I was in school, because I was a part of a lot of student organizations. So I ran a number of groups and pages, which were useful for communication and publicity purposes. I was in charge of updating one of our pages weekly and god, I hated that responsibility. Too much energy spent constantly thinking of things to post.

Other than that, I only have a tumblr. Which I also never post on. I only have an account so I can follow blogs for my daily dose of entertaining trash. I occasionally check the Twitter of some artists that I follow, but I can't bring myself to actually make an account.

I absolutely love the Animal Crossing series. I feel like I pour more hours into these games than any other game I play... New Leaf has been my favorite installment so far, but there are so many things from the Gamecube version that I'm nostalgic for.

My favorite villager is Lucky - he only stayed a short while in my Wild World file but I just love his design. Hopefully I'll see him again someday.

I'm really excited for the Switch version! I have pretty high hopes for it, I feel like the Animal Crossing games have only gotten better over time (well, the main series games anyway, I won't speak for... the spin-offs).

Sounds like you're treating yourself and that's awesome.

For me, whenever I'm done dealing with something stressful (eg. exams, interviews, etc) I always end up buying a bag of hot cheetos. The spicier the better! Unfortunately usually when I'm stressed, it also means that I haven't been eating properly, and so the hot cheetos on an empty stomach is... not a good combination... but worth it, right?

Recently, my friend came over with his copy of Sonic Mania and hit me with a massive wave of nostalgia. I grew up on the Sonic games on the Sega Genesis and Dreamcast, I remember playing them all the time with my cousin. (Although the details are fuzzy because I was really young at the time.) The bonus stages where you collect spheres(?) really brought back some good memories:

What are some games that you remember from your childhood?
I agree on the beach. I think it's really nice in theory. But yeah, I hate getting sand everywhere and the wind blows everything all over the place, and there really isn't much to do besides drink saltwater and collect seaweed. But I live near some really nice beaches, so I inevitably have to deal with it when my friends suggest it for an outing.

I don't like alcohol. I hate how it tastes and how it smells and how it feels as it slides down your throat. I mean I know people don't drink alcohol for the taste, but I dislike it so much I don't think I could ever drink enough to get anywhere. And because of that, I dislike going to parties or "small kickbacks" or anywhere where alcohol is involved - I don't have anything against it, it's just not fun when everyone else is drunk and you're not.

I don't like sweets either. Things that are too sweet make me want to throw up. Frosting is the worst offender.

1. Finished my exam aka NO MORE STUDYING
2. Cleaned out some old stuff. Took a trip down memory lane as a result.
3. Decided to pre-order the Smash edition of the Nintendo Switch, using my first real paycheck ✓
4. Organized my CD shelf. Looks nice.
5. I ate a pear and it was good.
Posted in Nightmares. Posted 6 years ago
The only dreams that I remember from my childhood are the recurring nightmares. I don't have them anymore, but they used to occur so often that I would stay awake in bed for hours because I didn't want to have those dreams again. In one of them, I was lost in a dark maze-like berry patch, and the sky was filled with a black vortex. Whenever I had that dream, I felt like I was in a panic - like I was running from something or desperately trying to get out... The other dream had arguably more disturbing imagery, including my house full of bullet holes and family members with dismembered limbs.

After that, the nightmares I had were always strangely violent - involving either me being killed or me killing other people with faces that I actually recognize. (I'm not a violent person at all. I also have nothing against those people who appeared in my dream. I barely even associate with them.)

But lately, I find that most of my dreams are extremely realistic. They're realistic to the point where, when I'm having the dream and I'm nearing the end of it, I feel like I have control over myself in the dream - whether I'm still dreaming at that point or half-awake, I can't tell. But I feel very conscious of it. Some of the dreams are so real that when I wake up, I have to spend 5 minutes convincing myself that those things didn't actually happen.

@okios: Thank you! Your avatar is amazing by the way.

@Saeyra: I picked up the name from one of my favorite artists, but somewhere I vaguely remember him mentioning that it was the name of his family dog. So actually, you're probably right!

@Kozi: Thanks, it's nice to meet you!
I'm definitely on the side of the FMA fandom that spreads around Nina memes in poor taste oops

@Eldweena: Haha it's nice to know that I'm not the only one. It's a bad habit but sometimes it brings me to places like these, so not all bad, right?

Pizza dipped in garlic butter is so good. Someday I'd like to try pizza dipped in nacho cheese. I feel like that would be a good combination.

I remember in elementary school, the pizza was basically cardboard, so most students dipped it in ranch. There was one girl who dipped her pizza in orange juice. Everyone thought it was weird.
Posted in Best public places to read/write? Posted 6 years ago
I'll never be satisfied with public libraries ever again since attending university. There were select libraries on campus where if you made any kind of noise, someone was bound to tell you to be quiet. So the result is literal dead silence, which for me, is the best place to concentrate. But at the same time I don't like being holed up in a room full of sweaty college students and caffeine, so the atmosphere itself is a deterrent.

I like the bookstore, actually. It's not really a place that a lot of people frequent, and if they do, it's just to browse quietly and then buy something before leaving. A lot of the larger bookstores have cafes too - they have a nice vibe because generally people who go there are there to read and not there to have a meal (which is what I find off-putting about reading/studying at restaurants).

Oh wow, a lot of messages. Thank you all for the warm welcome.

@fozzy: Thank you! I'm curious about the cupcakes but it looks like I have to wait a bit for them.
Oof I thought I was done too before I decided to apply to grad school whether or not I'm actually going is a different story But I think even when I have real adult responsibilities I'll still find some way to procrastinate on them, haha

@Rallaa: I do like this item a lot actually. I think I'll be using it for a while. A good investment, glad I didn't miss it.

@Luc: Events usually tend to get me more active too. I'll see you around!

@Hazer: My favorite anime is definitely Fullmetal Alchemist. After that, it's hard to choose. I really like Baccano and Psycho-Pass. A recent favorite is Shouwa Genroku Rakugo Shinjuu (a mouthful).

@sunny: Thank you, nice to meet you!

@vengeance: Whoa that's really nice of you. Thank you so much! I'll check it out after this post.

@Robyn: A loaded question, because I'm notoriously bad at finishing games (but man am I good at buying them). I'm still working on Kirby: Planet Robobot and Pokemon Moon (don't know what happened here, I usually finish Pokemon games at least), and I started Bravely Second but I guess I'm still traumatized from finishing the first installment (that was... brutal). There are a lot of others. We'd be here all day.

@Totalanimefan: I read... everything... except roleplays and forum games I guess, haha
I'm like this in real life too. I just don't talk very much. But I like hearing other people's opinions.

Hi, just joined and finished shopping around for my avatar so I figured I'd make an introductory thread in here.

I'm kind of a lurker but I'll post occasionally or try to
Uhh I guess, about me, I like to play video games, watch anime, and sometimes draw. I definitely joined this site in an effort to procrastinate on my studies. Nice to meet you.
