I made a daily posting goal to try to pace myself towards 500 for the rest of the month, but it's so hard haha

Wow, same. I am a master at wondering why things won't turn on and then realizing that they aren't plugged in.

I used to live in an apartment complex where the floor plans were all the same on each story. I was extremely tired after coming back from classes, and I didn't realize that the elevator stopped on the 2nd floor instead of the 3rd floor. I make my way to what I thought was my front door, open it (yes, the door was unlocked), and then walk into literally someone else's apartment. No one was home, but I stood in there for a good 5 minutes wondering when my roommates decided to redecorate the place before I realized that oh my god this isn't my apartment

The production values are definitely up there! The OST is really catchy too...

Ahh this is a great thread idea! My roommates and I used to have a "cookbook" of our crappily-thrown-together food creations at the apartment.
I'll be keeping an eye on this thread for meal ideas... even though I'm like really bad at cooking haha.

Whoaa maplestory brings me way back. I have a lot of really nostalgic memories of playing the original one with my cousin. Lots of sleepless nights and heated party quests, that's for sure. It's kind of weird to see it in 3D!

I can't go back to MMOs though. They're way too time-consuming for my easily-addicted gaming brain.

That's a really eloquent way to put it, and I'd definitely agree. I don't know if I can connect every song I listen to with a particular memory, but there are definitely a lot of them. A lot of songs remind me of certain people; either because they introduced me to the song, or it played when I was with them, or something else. It makes me think of them. Makes me wonder how they're doing, even if I haven't spoken to them in ages.

Do people who don't like music just maybe haven't found the right type of music? haha I can't imagine...

I sleep on a wooden board with a 1 inch comforter on top of it (yes, you can definitely still feel the wooden board). It's just about the opposite of comfy.

I don't know, but I'm used to it? I'm so exhausted from the day that I don't even care. It's trained me well though. I can literally sleep anywhere now. Couch, floor, desk, the library, you name it. My standards are nonexistent.

I've sequenced a portion of my mitochondrial DNA for a class before. And it was safe, because the region that we sequenced doesn't contain any personal medical information.

I'm not going to go into the details of how we did it (because it's idk, boring?), but the information that we obtained from that experiment isn't as interesting as information you could obtain by sequencing your entire genome. Like, it can tell me that I share similar sequences with someone living in Finland, but that doesn't mean I'm Finnish. It just means that at some point, me and that Finnish person shared a common ancestor sometime way back in the primordial past. I'm Asian, but that person living in Finland could also be Asian, so really it doesn't tell me anything. It was kind of fun making a phylogenic tree with my classmates though.

But if you were to give a company your entire genomic DNA and let them sequence everything, then... that's a bit more sketchy. It's very possible that they could find something in your DNA that suggests that you are more susceptible to a particular disease, and then leak that information which could impact the cost of your health insurance, etc.

oof I also hate paperwork. Good thing you don't have to deal with that anymore.

I work in a research lab, and I don't like doing anything that has to do with upkeep or maintenance of the lab (so like... anything that's not directly related to a research project). Washing beakers/bottles, refilling pipet tips, opening new packages of things, making buffers and solutions, wow I could go on
But I only work with like 3 other people so it becomes extremely obvious who neglected to do these things, so I have to do them. It's like not putting in a new roll of toilet paper in a bathroom used by 2 people.

I also hate cell culture, I swear you shake these things the wrong way and then they all DIE geez

Wow congratulations on finishing your goal, vengeance! 750 posts is so much and it's only been 10 days?? That's really impressive

Ummm walking down stairs
but I can explain

When I was 3, I fell and scraped my forehead on the edge of some stone stairs (but to be accurate, that time I actually fell up the stairs), and subsequently had to get 5 stitches. Still have the scar! And the traumatic memory of bleeding everywhere and being strapped down to a hospital bed!!

So yeah I walk down stairs significantly slower than most people.

The one that immediately comes to mind is Maximum Ride. I mean it's not... terrible but was the writing really like this?? Did I really read this??? They recently (okay not recently, but I realized recently) made a Netflix adaptation of the book (or the trilogy? idk). Which I knew was going to be bad but I watched it anyway because I thought it'd be laughably bad, and yeah it was. Entertaining stuff.

Ya know, I think I was just... a very different person in middle school, haha. Must be.

I don't necessarily hate film adaptations - I generally think that (most of) the Harry Potter movies are good. The Hunger Games was fine too? (uh but I never read the third book so can't speak on that there) It's just that the book is almost always better whoops

I don't think I've heard of those books you mentioned. I think you'll be fine rereading if you go in with lower expectations than you might have had back then, haha

I hear you though, this shop is more a motivator for me to draw than it is anything else haha
