Oh yes
I love to try and post a subject that can be discussed or might bring amusement of some sort.
I don't mind the simple "Hi hows it goin" threads, but I tend to have less time to just sit around and chat in length. So I just throw out my subjects and run back to my duties lmao Its easier to come back to a thread that has a solid topic going on.

Helps that I'm taking a communications class, which gets my social gears turning for homework and such
Riddle me that yall

It starts with an H

I'm definitely not cheating on a word game

*edit
feel free to discuss wordy riddles or something in here

I totally agree! My college dean lady has this van that is SO. BIG. Everyone calls it a boat. Like, I'm amazed how huge it is.
this is her personal vehicle

I dont think I have enough education about housing. I haven't thought about it as much as I think about things like residential zone restrictions. The way its set up so houses are in these ginormous clusters and businesses are separated so you HAVE to drive to get to most basic needs.
Where I live, its getting pretty bad and ends up really clustered in one spot cause thats where all the shops are. Too many people try to squeeze in. There are probably better ways to use our space more efficiently, while still increasing homes as necessary.

gods, I agree! There's a stereotype on the big trucks here for a reason. They tend to drive like assholes. Cutting people off, racing down the roads and getting aggressive. I think it takes a certain personality to even want to drive one of those things. Unless its required for a job, of course.

Yeah I'm 27 and only just started college. Much of the reason being I couldn't drive to access pretty much anything except for a basic retail job for so long. Until I moved.
I live in a tiny ass city in Colorado. Its also not very safe to use public transportation here, which adds to dilemma of depending on cars. But I still rely on the bus a lot to get to and from school.

That's scary, I'm so glad you guys are alright. Vehicles are too friggin big in the US. There are sooooo many of those giant black trucks where I live and they take up 2 parking spaces! Plus they always park in front of other peoples' home (which always ends up being mine, no matter where I live, so I have to park a block away just so I'm not also blocking someone else's home). That's also exactly what hit my friend in the accident. She probably would have lived if it were smaller cars. She was driving in a neighborhood as well!

@Hachi:
OH MAN dont get me started on single-use plastics. It is definitely a dilemma I definitely become guilty of many times. Like eating out and using the plastic cups or utensils. Or living with people who continue to buy and serve food on styrofoam plates ect. but I use them anyways.
I wish US would ban single use plastics. We could stand to be less lazy and just clean our reusable things.

@totalanimefan:
I argue it a lot when people give me a hard time for not driving. I've been extremely terrified for a LONG time, only recently got to the point where I can drive a car straight down one road for 15 minutes to get to my job. But I still get massive panic attacks if the slightest thing happens, like the other night when my windshield fogged up a bit. Scares me so much not being on my feet, man. I literally just lost a friend 3 weeks ago to a car accident. Hasn't made it any easier to cope in a country so dependent on them.

We'd have to construct better public transportation. They aren't 100% free of environmental footprints, but could minimize it a lot to less vehicles..

@totalanimefan:
I just read a crap ton about it lmao
It starts with how cars were cheaper and easier to obtain in the US, so it became regular for most households to have personal vehicles. But also that the residential zones are so limited here, it causes our building to be more spread out, making travel to get anywhere much longer. There is also less convenience around walking/biking/ect. to get to places because many areas haven't built around such a concept. Plus, again, there's more distance to travel so it's a problem anyways.

On another note, this paper still confuses me like hell
Its like I"m supposed to be doing this with groups but I was told to do it alone as homework. wat
Also it wants me to come up with solutions so I think I chose a hard topic to solve..

@totalanimefan:
ooh, there's one close to mine own heart. Being that driving/cars terrify and frustrate me to no end! Had a rant just this morning about how I wish we lived in a world where there were no automobiles (as a truck clouded our windshield with black smog). But at the same time, I'd cry forever if I saw a horse get hurt from lugging me around..

Also the overuse of energy, but I cannot bring myself to stop using my pc. The world almost requires one anymore

@priestess of pie:
Those are some really good ones, actually! Things we don't normally think about but they really are daily dilemmas.
Holy poop you helped me so much, now I have all sorts of subjects coming to mind

I'm asking for school work
my brain is fried

I have a paper to write about an ethical dilemma I have or to make up one to write about
I've been reading random examples online but I dunno, I guess it helps more to hear examples that actually happen, rather than a shallow made-up scenario. Gives me more information to pull from.
I don't think I have any dilemmas going on recently enough for me to recall. But I could just be major brain farting

edit:
for those who might not know: ethical dilemma is "a situation in which a difficult choice has to be made between two courses of action, either of which entails transgressing a moral principle."

Sadly all my socks are black now :'D
I've worked in retail too long, most of them had a black sock color requirement in the past. I dont hear too much of it anymore but too lazy to buy socks
