That stuff is fine, just my hand.

Yep. My right hand can barely hold anything right now from using the pickaxe all day.

Well the articles I read said to bring your own tools, and the person I spoke to on the phone said the same thing. But they did provide some pickaxes and a few other things.

I've been bitten plenty of times and don't really care anymore. Lol

I had researched this trip thoroughly and knew what we were going to need and what to expect.

They thought my friend and I were professionals. Because we were dressed for the work and the weather, and had all the tools we were going to need. All they had was nothing and wearing tourist clothes. With some bug spray.

Funnily enough. My friend and I never once got bit by ants. Like we had them getting on us and disturbed a colony or two. No bites.

No, we just waited them out. They gave up helping because it was too hard, and got bored.

Yeah. She got excited when my friend said what she had found, and decided that her husband will help us so that she can give some of it to her kids.

A family did show up and tried to steal my friend's find. Then the kids got bored and bit by ants. So they left.

Yep. We were told that we were the best he's had in a while. Apparently most people show up for like half an hour then give up and leave. We were there from 10:30am to 6pm.

It's all calcite and if you're really lucky maybe a fossil.

I did. :3 Found the very first one of the day.

We really didn't do anything else. Ate at Cracker Barrel and Golden Corral. Then came home.

It was worth it in the end though. My hand that was holding the pickaxe is still sore, lol not able to clench my fist too firmly.

It's when you get hunting for your own crystals, fossils, ect. There's a place down there called Fort Drum Crystal Mine, and they let you dig up crystals. Friend and I found a good few. Lmao she was stubborn about a rock having a ton in there, and kept at it for 8 hours. Turns out, yeah it actually was full of crystals. One of the people that works there is going to finish digging it up and stuff, then send her the pieces later.
