He smiled brightly. he beamed. this was better.

He hugged ryker tighter. "Dont scare me like that. i thought i lost you" he wiped his face.

Now that he could calm down he shivered, then sneezed.

He had been soaking for a bit and now he was cold

"No. im not okay. im worried about you. we both agreed to let him out the first time. we BOTH agreed to let him help. its on me too" his face contorted in concern.

"I love you. your my brother..i should have known to expect him to be...well him" he hugged ryker.

"Cmon cheer up...i cant rest easy till you do"

"Hey...hey dont do that. dont deflect." he looked at ryker.

"Listen i was just hungry and stressed out. i shouldnt have taken it out of you. and im not that tough, just scared for my life" he offered a sheepish smile.

"Seriously...cheer up though.normally it doesnt bother me. He was just really...rude to me and it just piled on top of everything that happened." he didnt like seeing ryker like this.

He ran over and hugged him, still sopping wet.

"God dang river monster! in the forest river!" he was almost hysterical.

"Stupid thing almost had me for lunch. i ran back as fast as i could. you shoulda seen the tail on this thing!" he looked at ryker then stopped.

"Hey...you okay?" he tilted his head and took rykers hand.

"Did i..did i upset you?"

He looked for ryker.

He slowly got up feeling a little dizzy from running like that.

"Ryker? brother?" he was in such a panic his sight hadnt focused

After some time, eke came bounding through the bushes.

He tumbleed and looking around widly as if he just escaped something.

He was also soaked. Once stopped he was coughing out water and panting.His heart was still pounding.

There was a noise from the distance from where he came and he scrambled backwards.

"Whatever" he just turned away.

"Ive had enough crap for one day." he started pushing through a bush.

"Im going hunting by myself. dont like the feeling of him judging me" and with that he stormed away.

He walked for a while before untensing. He knew hunger was part of his bad mood, but to be fair, the day had been quite stressful.

Dealing with rykers other half wasnt helping things.

Eke sat on a rock and exhaled trying to calm himself down. Way to go, he thought to himself. "Way to act like a petulant teenager" he said aloud.

He was still hungry so he got up and went to the river to hunt, scoring some smaller fish and one medium. He didnt bother with cooking it. too hungry to care and he didnt exactly have a knack for cooking.

Ekes tail was swishing irritated.

He looked back, but he just couldnt take the glare our of his eyes just yet.

The sting of the words said to him lingered.

"Well you let him out" there was an uncharacteristic bite to his tone.

"No. not till you go back to normal. your rude like this" he stood there.

"If you insist to stay like this, im going the other way to hunt" he crossed him arms.

He turned away from ryker, really upset by his attitude but also quite hungry.

"Erm..." honestly he had enough of acting brave but he nodding.

The chill down his spine hadnt left.

"Is there a town near here? something...something just doesnt feel right and im not talking about your friend" he looked around.

"I suppose its nothing lets go in" he reasoned. maybe he was just paranoid.

It was that moment the young dragons stomach groowled, quite loudly in fact. He hadnt eaten in a while.

Eke looked at the figure. Ekes own body wasnt much bigger, weight-wise.

He took a breath and walked over holding up the bag.

He opened it and pulled out a vial.

"Theres a section of river and forest covered in this stuff. we want to know what it is, and how to stop it."

Eke frowned but it couldnt be helped.

Eke was getting the weirdest feeling, like..death from illness.

He had never known himself to be psychic but something about the air around the sludge seemed to scream "plague"

He shuddered and shrugged the thought off.

He followed ryker, staying silent

"Its been three years. i should hope so" he smiled.

True he hadnt had nightmares, but deep lakes and oceans still freaked him out.

"Well lead the way. its your other halfs friend so it wont do us much good if im in front

"Im fine. its wasnt so scary when i finally started collecting it. As long as i was careful and protected, no reason to be afraid" he started walking looking up at the sky.

"Kinda like...how the incident in the river...doesnt scare me anymore" he shrugged.

"I stopped having nightmares a while ago"
