"Well...alright but im keeping the vials with me...i dont want...him...to get any ideas" he nodded holding the bag strap.

"Listen...i know that...i gave attitude." he rubbed the back of his thin neck.

"Im still figuring out this whole...being an adult thing. I...im not sure i know who i wanna be yet"

"Back off okay? Im not like you. Cant face death and just be fine with the thing that almost killed me an hour later okay?" he rubbed his face and sighed.

"Im tyring okay" he took a step foward and one of the puddles had a large bubble pop, making his jump.

"Holy crap this is bad" he put on the gloves and grabbed a container.

He had to tell himself he could do it. He had to do this. He had to be a grown up about this.

He walked to the river and shakily, and slowly began to fill the container with the sludge. He was doing well, so he picke dup his pace.

He looked more mature, like he was just...working.He filled all 9 containers and sealed them. He put them in a padded bag he swiped earlier and stood, chunking the sludge covered gloves, careful not to touch the black stuff.

"Why not go to the best?" he slowly stood. "You dont have to worry about the money. I can take care of it. you got me free food. I want to return the favor" He smiled. Something about his smile was...alluring. It drew people in.

"Sorry i just got this image of you in a cheerleader outfit. Scary stuff" he wiped his eye and kept walking.

He came to the river. it was worse than before. Puddles of sludge. more dead bodies.

The sight of it gave him flashes of just a hour before, when he couldnt see, he was bleeding black sludge.

He backed up his hands shaking. He clutched his jacket to his body, fighting the urge to run.

"So now that you cant be a mother hen your a cheerleader" he smirked.

He looked back and began to laugh.

He had to stop walking cause he was laughing so hard.

"Well duh, im the one turning on the charm"he smirked and walked towards the forest.

He stopped, now scared.

It was true he had to stop depending on others as much but...he DID almost die a bit ago.

He exhaled shakily and continued forwards determined.

"No! you are NOT letting him out! he already has too much power!" he growled his tail flicking.

He walked on to the store and got the items. He seemed to be in a foul mood now.

He got a nice discount on the items that made them well within their budget.

"Lets get some vials. see if that works. and gloves. at least then just the gloves will be ehexed" he nodded.

"Maybe get some industrial grade vials and stoppers. Ill have to use my charm..hope im not rusty" he stretched.

"Then we need to find someone whos versed in demon magic. ill leave that one to you. if we can unload it on someone else, all the better. we need to get a move on to the Capital"

He rolled his eyes and walked out of the hotel.

"I KNOW we need to be careful. im the one who almost died remember?" he tilted his head towards ryker.

"I cant depend on people forever. I need to grow up some yknow" he crossed his arms.

"I dont need you to mother hen me okay?"

"Erm..." he hadnt thought about it. "Someplace not hot?" he shrugged. He really didnt want to leave the resteraunt. It was horribly hot out there and he was so fragile. "What is there to do in town anyways.? i just got here yesterday"

"I wont TOUCH it this time. just..collect it in a vial." he stood suddenly.

"Yeah the whole ordeal was terrifying but i cant let fear run my entire life anymore!" he walked to the door.

"So im going back. Im getting answers, and im not going to be afraid this time."

He turned back to ryker. "So you can come with me, or you can stay here shaking in your boots" the look on his face was determined.

"Im not a little kid anymore Ryker. It's time i stopped acting like one"

"I...i dunno but i think we...need a sample of that sludge." he looked away.

"Maybe we can find someone who can figure out what it is" he added trying not to make himself sound like he had a death wish
