Illias was silent, before nodding.

"Ah, yes." he said.

"Agent Sharp, I have something to briefly show you." he told Hal, stepping inside.

"...close the door behind you." Hal replied.

Illias did so, and Chris just gulped audibly.

"Look, I know this looks bad." he said to Kalin.

"I'll just scram and get out of your hair, okay?"

"Well, sometimes what he needs to talk about it very sensitive." Illias replied.

"Who knows what-" he started to say, before the door was opened...

...and Kalin saw Christopher starting to exit the room.

Their eyes met, and Chris froze when he saw her, and she could see the panic in his eyes.

"...is everything all right?" Hal asked from within the room.

"Oh, Miss Calder." he then said, looking and seeing Kalin.

Illias thought for a moment, and then nodded.

"She has." he told her.

"It sometimes comes out in her chemistry experiments, but she's made up some interesting alcoholic drinks." he said further.

"So it's not surprising that she was a tender." he added with a small smile.

"Ah, here we are." he then said when they reached the receptionist's office. They spoke with her, before going to sit down.

"I just need to give Agent Sharp some papers, and I'll be gone in seconds." he told her.

"Then you can go about your business with him."

"That would be it." Illias replied.

"She smells the fish." he laughed.

"And it's nice to meet you, Kalin." he then said.

"Kiah talks about you from time to time. All good things, too." he went on.

"Mostly it's about your nightlife, though." he continued.

"Your club sounds like a really great place from what she's told me."

Illias nodded in response.

"I am." he replied as they walked.

"I'm her partner in the lab, as well as outside the lab." he chuckled.

"Name's Illias." he replied... before a serpentine reptile emerged from underneath his hair and started to investigate Kalin.

"...and this is Helena." he went on.

"Seems she smells something interesting on you."

Jake nodded.

"Got it." he replied, as he started to press the button to call someone... just as Illias showed up, knocking at the door.

"Need help?" he asked.

"Eh?" Jake asked.

"I was walking past, heard someone needed an escort. I'm on my way to Sharp's office, so I can take her." Illias offered.

"...sure thing." Jake said, before pressing the button to unlock the door.

"Go on in." he told the woman.

"...." Aly was silent, before sighing.

"I hope so." she said.

"I really do." she added, snuggling up close to him.

"He really needs a woman in his life." she went on.

"Everyone needs someone like that."

Aly just giggled softly.

"Aww." she said.

"Shameless compliments." she told him.

"But I just like making them. I don't need to make a business out of it." she added.

"I'm glad you like it." she added, giving him a kiss in return.

Jake looked at her and darted his tongue out slightly, before nodding.

"Ah, right." he said.

"Miss Calder." he said further, looking at a sheet.

"We've been expecting you." he told her.

"You're needed in Sharp's office. Can you navigate it there yourself?" he asked.

"Or do you require an escort?"

"Good." Ash replied.

"Last thing any of us need is to see any reminders of Vanessa ever again." he said.

"...well... I mean, aside from ourselves..." he went on, before shaking his head.

"Oh, you know what I mean!" he exclaimed.

"Thanks again. See you." he finished, before quickly leaving with Ashley.

"....huh." Ash muttered.

"I... well, that explains the mana from earlier that took Vanessa's form." he said.

"That was... unnerving and unsettling." he told her.

"But... with Vanessa's mana gone, everyone will go back to normal?" he asked.

"I... I can live with that." he said.

"I'll HAVE to live with that." he muttered.

"So I assume everyone that had anything to do with helping Vanessa is getting what they deserve, or has already gotten it?" he then asked her.

"I want to take her home." Ash responded.

"I want to make sure I'm the one that sees her home to her bed." he continued.

"......but those at home should be aware of what's going on." he then said.

"If... they can understand it and truly accept it." he added.

"I mean... that mana crap was going on inside me, so odds are it's going on inside a lot of other people." he reasoned.

"...and I have no idea what's going to happen with everyone, going forward."

Ash just sighed again, as well.

"Yeah." he said.

"I don't know how she thinks. Don't want to know." he mumbled.

"Whatever." he then said, going over and picking Ashley up in his arms.

"Thank you." he told her.

"You've stopped Ashley from truly becoming what she hated most."
