Again, Aly kissed his cheek, before before Ryker came downstairs from his shower.

"Mmmm, smells good down here." he said.

"Smells like a good start to a morning." he added.

He then smiled at the two dragons, before stretching his arms up a little.

"Hello you two."

Chris was stunned.

Absolutely stunned.

"I... I..." he stuttered.

"R-Really?" he finally stammered out.

"You... you mean that?" he inquired.

"I... I would love to properly study law." he told her.

"But... but are you sure you trust me enough for this?"

"Oh." Chris replied.

"Well, you're welcome." he told her.

He was then silent as her question was posed.

"I... huh?" he muttered.

"Do I...?" he started to repeat the question, before pausing and pondering it.

"Well... I suppose so, yes." he answered.

"It's... fascinating. Such depth to it, and it sees to be a good way to keep one's mind in shape." he explained.

"Why?"

Chris had been sitting and doing nothing, watching some blooms grow, before glancing over towards the woman when she called to him.

He was silent, before getting up and starting to slowly get closer to her, meeting her somewhere in the middle.

"Yes?" he addressed her.

"What is it?' he inquired.

"Did what I did at the firm return to haunt you...?" he then wondered aloud, nervously.

He did NOT want that to happen.

Rene just shrugged.

"Not long." he said.

"You're recovering nicely." he told her.

"If all goes well, tomorrow evening." he finished.

Ash still looked confused, but shrugged.

"At least there's that." he said.

"That's good."

"What?" Ash muttered.

"Huh?" he mumbled.

"Chris?" he said.

"How?" he wondered.

"What's going on here?" he inquired further.

"How could Chris have done this?"

"Can't say." Rene responded.

"We're investigating." he told her.

"And your eleven genes didn't help here." he added.

"So how did she survive?" Ash inquired.

"Chris." Rene told them.

"Seems he somehow managed to get Ashley's organs back to functioning states, allowing her time for us to save her."

"Well, then you're recovering perfectly." Rene told her.

"Seems you had a rare strain of Pruina Influenza." he said.

"...and that is...?" Ash muttered.

"Frost Flu." Rene clarified.

"A rare virus that lays dormant in the body for however long, before it suddenly activates at full, and goes for it." he explained.

"And by then... it's too late." he lamented. "Unless they are tended to immediately... and I mean IMMEDIATELY... their organs will shut down and they'll essentially frost over from the inside out." he went on.

"Well, guess you got to her just in time." Ash commented.

"...." Rene was silent, before sighing.

"Actually, by the time I got to her, the virus should have already gone too far, and she would have died." he admitted to them.

Ash buzzed for Rene, and within a few minutes, the doctor had arrived.

"Ah, you're up." he commented.

"I was wondering when that would happen." he said further.

"How are you feeling?" he inquired.

"Gave us quite a scare, there." he then told her.

"Not gonna lie, we almost lost you."

"...about 5 days." Ash responded.

"I guess you had some weird mana disease?" he went on.

"According to Rene, you'd had the bug for a while, but it didn't do anything major until just recently, when it hit you like a truck." he then explained to her.

"I don't know the details, admittedly." he then said.

"I'll tell Rene, though."' he told her.

"Or, actually, I'll buzz for him to come here." he corrected himself.

"He's said he wants to be notified immediately when you wake up."

"...." Aly was silent, before placing a hand on his shoulder.

"Eke..." she said.

"Whether or not you knew your father... he still matters." she told him.

"We'll save him." she said.

"He deserves to rest in peace, and you deserve to know he's resting in peace."

Aly just giggled.

"That's sweet." she said.

"I'm sure everything'll work out." she told him.

"We'll make sure of it." she went on.

"After all, we have each other." she said further.

"And together, we'll be able to survive ANYTHING."

Chris just sighed in relief, as Lindsay hung up the phone... just as Rene appeared in the room.

"Ashley!?" he exclaimed.

"She's here." Chris told him.

"She needs to get help. Fast." he said.

Rene rushed over, and scanned Ashley, before nodding.

"I need to get her to OLA." he went on.

The next thing Ashley knew, she was in a hospital bed, staring at the ceiling.

And Ash was sitting beside her bed, on the chair that was there.

"Ashley...?" he said when she stirred.
