Ash thought for a moment about her question.

"...3? 4 months?" he answered.

"Between 3 and 4 months. I... don't know specifics." he admitted.

"We were starting to get really worried about you." he told her.

"And medical supplies. Heh. You're a miracle bringer for the med bay." he commented.

"Just when we were starting to run low."

"..." Ash was silent for a moment, before letting out a small breath. And she could hear the sadness in it.

"...I know." he then said.

"It's... sad that this is the world we live in..." he went on, before his expression brightened some.

"Oh! But there's hope-" he started to say, but she interrupted.

"I heard." she told him. "Vicki's here to try and stop this world from becoming real." she said.

"Yeah." Ash confirmed.

"If there's anyone that can help save the future... it's her."

"....." Ryker was silent as Eke had his explosion of anger and yelling, before watching him go to the window and muttering what he did. Before he could really say anything, Savra shot a glare at him, before making their way to Eke and turning back to their lupine form, sitting down and laying their head in Eke's lap.

"...all right..." Ryker said quietly.

"I'll just take us home." he muttered, getting up and making his way to the driver's seat.

"Damn it." he cursed through gritted teeth, turning the vehicle on and pulling out of the parking lot.

Ash just growled slightly when he heard that.

"Damn it." he cursed.

"With all those abominations shuffling about, the rest of us could actually band together." he said.

"But nooooooo... of course not." he snarled.

"I'm sorry to hear that." he told her. "At least they didn't live to regret their choices." he said further.

"Welcome back." he then added with a small smile.

Instinctively, Ash shifted a bit to look at her injuries... but when he saw her wince as he did so, he paused and went back to his previous position.

"Sorry." he apologised.

"Anyway... that sucks that your arm's hurt..." he told her.

"You gonna be okay?" he asked.

"And what happened?" he asked further.

"...those monsters get you worse than usual?"

Thankfully for her, Ash wasn't the sort to suddenly jostle around and shift. Once he was asleep, he stayed in that position. She was able to move him slightly, and didn't seem to disturb him, and she noticed he relaxed considerably when they were close together like this, physically speaking.

After about a minute, though, one of his eyes opened, and he saw her.

Again, thankfully, this was something the both of them were used to, so he didn't move at first.

"...hey." he greeted her quietly.

"Assuming you just got back?" he asked.

As she made her way to her usual area, she was greeted by several people, fondly, and after some brief interactions, she made her way to her quarters, where she found the door closed.

She knocked lightly on it, before opening it and seeing Ash in her bed.

Sound asleep.

But she knew that he mostly slept just to rest. He didn't actually 'NEED' to sleep.

Then again, neither did she.

It was just something the two of them did. Mostly as an escape from this horrid reality.

He nodded.

"Of course." he responded.

"It always is." he told her with a smile.

"And even if it's not, you know to kick Jo out." he added with a small laugh.

"Though to be fair, he uses it as his own because you're so rarely here, and he DOES keep it clean and such." he then reasoned.

"So... short answer, yes. Long answer, yes, of course."

His eyes widened as he felt the weight of the envelope, and he looked at her, gratitude in his eyes.

"Thank you..." he said.

"Thank you so much..." he told her.

"We've been getting low on... a lot of things." he admitted.

"This will keep us going for a lot longer." he said further, smiling sincerely at her.

"Thank you... thank you..." he repeated, almost crying from happiness.

"I'll bet." the medic replied, as he set to work.

It took a little over a couple of hours, but her arm was now in a cast, and sling, and the rest of her injuries had been tended to.

"The cast is laced with some healing mana, so it should heal in several days." he told her. "Your shoulder has been relocated, and all of your other injuries will heal just fine." he said further.

"As usual, feel free to stay here as long as you need." he continued.

"It's the least we can do for someone that keeps those things away from us, and others."

The medic shook his head.

"Of course." he said.

"I get what he's doing, and it's admirable, but a little shout-out here and there would be appreciated." he reasoned.

"We hate not knowing if he's alive or dead." he growled as they reached the medical bay, and she was escorted to a cot to sit on.

"All right, let's get to work." he told her.

"Time to fix up that arm, and whatever else those creatures did to you." he said, resignation and sadness in his tone.

"...what...?" Ryker asked in a whisper.

"Wait... what was WHAT?" he asked him.

"You had strange black colourations on you that disappeared into your eye when Eke woke you." Savra explained.

"....." Ryker was silent for a moment upon hearing that, before sighing heavily.

"It's... it's nothing that needs to be worried about." he said. "Nothing that can be changed or whatever." he said further.

"Can we have more information?" Savra asked.

"...it's part of my body changing and getting ready to live in the Underworld." Ryker muttered.

"Mmm. Yes." they replied.

"Or Hal." he said.

"But, considering YOU'RE the one that's here, and you seem to be the only only between the two of you that show up here even irregularly, then it should probably be you." he reasoned.

"...might as well ask, have you even seen or talked to him lately?" he then asked her.

"Because we hear practically NOTHING from him, or about him."

"...well, from what I've been told by Jo, it was desperate." they said.

"Seems like Vic had been moments away from having her soul eroded to the point of being... a monster." he lamented. "So they did the... well... 'swap'... last minute." he told her further.

"So... Vic's gone." he sighed.

"But Vicki's been working tirelessly to try and find a solution for this." he continued.

"...and trying to find her sister, which I should think is fruitless. I'm fairly certain she's gone, and she's giving Taylor false hope." he finished, shaking his head.
