He shook his head.

"No, no." he said.

"All he told me was that you would be by and he would be out for a while." he told her.

"We still have much to discuss, I assure you." he added, leaning forward.

"Firstly, see to it he has 2 straight days off." he stressed.

"Secondly, have a seat." he offered.

"Please. I... really wish to have a heart-to-heart with you." he added with a small smile, relief in his eyes.

She got there in a couple of minutes, and when she did get there, his door was open, and his receptionist gestured for her to go in. She did, and Hal just waved at her.

"Welcome back." he said.

"Ilias was just here." he told her.

"Said he's on forced vacation, and to expect you any moment." he went on.

"Good." he then said further.

"I was on the verge of ordering him to take some R&R, given how hard and constantly he'd been working." he told her bluntly.

The shook their head.

"He should calm down now that you're back." they said.

"I think it was born of concern and a need to distract himself." they reasoned.

"And for the most part, things have gone smoothly." the other told her.

"Only thing we need is... well, your signature so we can go forward with something." they went on, handing her the clipboard in their hands. When she looked at it, she saw it was just a standard thing, but it was protocol for one of her level to sign off on it.

"Thankfully, and luckily, the impact was minimal at worst."

The one that had spoke looked towards her, and sighed.

"Just the late nights he'd been pulling." they said.

"And stressing about you." they went on.

"Eating was at a minimum, too." the other one told her further.

"So it's high time he went home for some actual rest." the first one continued.

"And... welcome back, Dr. Remmington." they added.

Ilias just sighed again.

"All right." he said.

"See you later." he told her.

He then left her office, and she watched him go, seeing that he had gone deeper into the lab... but before she could decide to call him on it, she saw him appear again, but changed out of his lab coat, and with his personal tote bag.

She watched him leave the office, saying goodbye to some people as he did, and after he was gone, she saw one of them sigh.

"About time. He needed a break." they commented to a colleague.

"Yeah, yeah, yeah..." Ilias mumbled.

"Lemme know when you have an idea." he told her.

"I'll put an order in for delivery." he said further.

"What do you want?" he asked.

"Feeling like anything in particular?" he asked further.

Helena darted her tongue out a few times, before lifting her head off of Kiah's hand and nodding slowly. She then looked back towards Ilias, and disappeared under his hair, as Ilias looked a smidgen on the pouty side.

She could tell he had intended to work from home until she got back, at least a little... but her inclusion of Helena as a spy had put an end to THOSE plans.

"Guess I'll go now." he said.

"No point in hanging around HERE." he mumbled further.

"Any idea when you'll be home?" he then asked her.

"All right." Ilias responded.

"Can I at least finish the last sheet of that paperw-" he started to ask, before Kiah interrupted.

"You. Home. NOW." she repeated, staring directly into his eyes.

"........." Ilias was silent as he saw this, before nodding slightly.

"R-right. Home. Now." he said, as Helena popped out from under his hair and stretched closer to Kiah, in a combination of checking it was really her, saying 'welcome back', and also saying 'thank you'.

"....oh, that..." Ilias mumbled.

"Ah... remember when I said that K was kinda... rampaging about in the Unit?" he asked.

"Well... she stopped when she saw me, and security... they... uh, well..." he went on, scratching the back of his head slightly.

"They tackled her to the floor. Like... rough." he told her.

"Damaged your glasses and your nose." he went on.

"So if your nose is a little tender, or if your head feels sore in one area... yeah, that'd be why..."

Ilias just sighed.

"Just so you know, I HAVE slept." he told her.

"...just not at home." he said.

"Spent some time with Rylie and Emerald." he went on.

"...and I got 6 hours of sleep every night." he then stated, before pausing.

"Well... I got 6 that ONE night... 5 the other... 4 mostly..." he then muttered, getting progressively more sheepish with each correction.

Ilias was silent again for a moment, before heaving a sigh.

"...had a feeling that was coming." he said.

"And I know I'm not getting out of this." he went on.

"So... all right." he then muttered.

"I will go home now." he told her.

"And I will not be working on anything when you get home." he said further.

"Agent Sharp should know about this, though." he then added.

"...." Ilias was silent for a moment.

"Ah... heh..." he chuckled.

"A... a week." he said.

"Actually, a bit less than a week." he said further, pausing again.

"....5 days..." he then admitted.

That made the fact that he had done all that paperwork himself a LITTLE better... but that was paperwork that they had planned to space out and get done every so often, as the deadline had been a month from when she passed out for all of them.

Ilias just shrugged.

"Yeah, that paperwork is... done." he said.

"I needed to distract myself when you were unconscious, while at work, so I decided to do the paperwork. And... I ended up... finishing it..." he admitted, knowing she would have something to say about that.

It had been a LOT of paperwork, and the fact that he solo'd it meant he had worked an unhealthy amount while she was out.

"Oh, if you want to check on Nathan, you can." he then suggested.

"I'm sure he'd like to see that you're back." he reasoned.

Ilias thought for a moment.

"Well, I wasn't there." he said.

"However, I think what happened is that Lindsay became... VERY scared of K." he told her. "I guess she instilled some kind of fear in him." he went on, pausing again to think some more.

"Also, might be that she had his research destroyed is weighing on him. Or that it was apparently something bad that he was doing." he went on.

"Could be a combination of things." he continued.

"But if I were to wager a guess, she just attacked the primal feelings of fear within him. She's... disturbingly good at that."
