Adym watched her go, before looking at Sara.

He made his way to the window and looked out it, looking up as best he could.

"...quiet..." he said.

"...no birds in the sky, either..." he went on.

"What is happening...?" he wondered further, before going back to Sara.

"I'll protect you, I promise."

Adym looked VERY concerned when she said that.

"I... okay...?" he said.

He then looked at Sara, before looking back to Callie.

"..." he was silent, shaking his head slightly.

"I don't like this." he said. "The fact that something that is 'weird' is going on, and that you're now ordering us to stay in here and not leave." he went on, narrowing his eyes slightly.

"But I'll do it." he told her.

"If nothing else, to protect her." he finished, referring to Sara.

Adym was silent for a moment.

"They're going fine." he told her.

"She can say a few basic things now, but a new language is a very difficult skill." he sighed.

"...and weird?" he asked.

"How?" he asked further.

"And you hope? How what?" he asked her. "What are you looking for?" he inquired.

"Callie, what's going on?" he asked, as she located a rather sturdy-looking bow, and an impressive quiver of arrows.

When she opened the door, she found Adym and Sara inside. They had been talking with each other, and Adym looked over towards Callie.

"Callie?" he said.

"Hey." he greeted her, before seeing she had one of the keys, Sara having the other.

"...why do you have one of the keys?" he asked.

"Is something wrong?" he asked her.

"...did something happen to Karivyn?" he then asked concernedly.

She grabbed the railing, and Kai looking at the approaching shadows in the air.

"What are those?" he asked.

"I am unsure." Karivyn responded. "But if it's what I suspect, we are in grave danger." he said.

"Oh?" Kai asked.

"..." Karivyn was silent, narrowing his eyes.

"I will die before I let any harm come to her." he growled to himself.

Karivyn looked at her briefly, before handing her his key.

"Good luck." he told her.

"Callie?" Kai asked nervously.

"Be careful." he said.

"Indeed." Karivyn agreed.

"We need to act like there's danger everywhere." he reasoned.

"We have no idea what will happen next."

"Of all times to not have my bow and arrows." Karivyn cursed.

"Callie, how?" Kai then asked Callie.

"This crowd is too thick, and they're oblivious to us." he told her.

"They don't seem like they'll budge for anything or anyone." he went on.

"So how do you intend to push past them?" he asked her.

"They're like some kinda WALL!" he yelled to the crowd, but again, no response.

Kai and Karivyn then looked down as well, and were silent.

"...she's right." Kai said.

"Indeed she is." the centaur responded.

"That makes no sense." Kai muttered. "There's no way EVERY single person would be on this desk. I don't care how famous that imposter is making herself look, or who she impersonates is, there's just no way..." he went on, trailing off at the end.

Karivyn looked back at the crowd, before suddenly looking skyward again.

"...something's coming this way." he said, pointing in the distance. "A number of things are."

Karivyn narrowed his eyes, before looking at the sky again, and then to the crowd.

"MOVE IT! MOVE! GET OUT OF THE WAY!" Kai hollered. But to no avail.

It seemed that, no matter what, they weren't listening.

"..." Karivyn was silent, scanning the crowd once more.

"Something seems off about these people..." he said.

"I can't place my finger on it, but something seems... unnatural."

Karivyn looked at Callie when she said that.

"I agree." he said.

"Something doesn't feel... right." he agreed further.

Kai just growled.

"HEY!" he yelled out.

"HEY! MOVE!" he shouted, but nobody moved.

They acted like they didn't even hear him.

Kai was silent as he saw all this.

"How did we not notice this..." he suddenly wondered.

"I don't know." Karivyn replied. "This happening under our noses is borderline impossible. Surely we were not THAT distracted." he reasoned, scanning the crowd that seemingly blocked their way.

"We couldn't have been." Kai said.

"Damn it, this is infuriating." he growled.

As she turned around to head off, she found that she couldn't. The amount of people that were now on deck had increased drastically, to the point where moving through them would be nigh-impossible.

And she saw why.

The person that was pretending to be her was on deck, and was making a big deal about playing some game that looked similar to shuffleboard, and everyone was watching her, fascinated by it.

Nobody was even listening or paying attention to anything, or anyone else.

Kai noticed this, and growled slightly.

"Looks like we may be trapped in this little bit of the deck for a bit." he grumbled.

Karivyn narrowed his eyes.

"...indeed." he said.

"Something has spooked them, and they are staying away." he commented.

"...but what?" Kai asked.

"That is impossible to know right now." Karivyn responded. "But it is probably an aerial predator of sorts." he reasoned.

"Something we need to worry about?" Kai inquired.

"Possibly."

Kai followed as well, but didn't say anything, opting to let the centaur speak.

"...look up." Karivyn told them. "What do you see?" he asked.

They both looked up, and... all they saw was the sky, the sun, and some clouds.

"Nothing." Kai responded. "...wait..." he mumbled.

"Precisely." Karivyn said.

"Where are all the birds?" he asked. "The sky should be filled with them. Or, at least, there should be a few dozen about." he told them.
