Everyone seemed to be fixated the markings for a moment, before Kai cleared his throat.

"Right." he said.

"Anyway." he mumbled.

"Perhaps we should consider heading out." he suggested. "The sooner we start moving, the better." he reasoned.

"Is there anything special we need to do for Callie before we go?" he asked.

"And where is this cart?"

Kai almost jumped when she spoke, and whirled around.

"Ah!" he exclaimed.

"Well... uh... wait, what?" he asked.

"An Evolis? Really?" he asked her. "I... I don't think I've ever met or seen one before..." he admitted, before shaking his head.

"Anyway, no, that's not what I was referring to." he told her.

"I was talking about how you're... well... you're like us." he went on.

"How you'll essentially fit right in with our group."

"...." Kai was stunned for a moment, unsure as to what to say here. But he managed to nod his head.

"I... I see." he said.

"Fair enough." he said further.

"Is everything all right?" Adym asked.

"Yeah, just... some heavy stuff." Kai told him, before looking back towards Sara.

"I won't say anything if you don't want me to." he said to her, changing languages again. "I realise you might not want people to know what you just told me." he continued.

"Though, they should know that this woman is a crux." he then reasoned.

"....hm." Kai mumbled.

"I see." he said, looking at Callie's shoulder.

"Well, as long as those keep her from dying, I'm not complaining." he told her.

He then sighed and shook his head, before looking absently in the direction of the door.

"...but one of us..." he went on.

"...I'm surprised you know of those runes." he then admitted.

"I take it you've seen them, or something like them, before?" he asked.

Kai was silent for a moment, processing what had just been told to him. He looked at her, and then checked back at the door.

"...really?" he asked quietly.

"She is?" he asked her.

"How do you know?" he then asked further.

"Don't get me wrong, I'm glad you trust her. Makes things a lot easier, but... how do you know she's like us?" he asked her again.

"What tipped you off?"

Adym just sighed heavily.

"We can trust her." Kai told him. "She's helped Callie, and I'm fairly certain she's the only reason that Callie's still even alive right now." he added.

"Whatever it takes." Adym responded, before pausing.

"Are you suggesting that you come with us?" he then asked.

"Merely seeking clarification. As if it means that Callie continues to survive, and you are all right right with it, then I am fine with you coming with us." he reasoned.

"I have no issues with it, either." Karivyn stated.

"And I'm all right with it, too." Kai chimed in.

Karivyn nodded in response.

"I have done so in the past for various reasons." he responded. "It is not beneath me at all to pull such a vehicle. In face, I would consider it rather an honour to be doing so, if it helps you all, and helps protect her." he continued, looking at, and referring to, Sara.

"As long as it's functional and comfortable." he then added.

"It wouldn't do for it to be rough or awkward for young Callie." he reasoned.

"Though, I am certain you have already thought of this, so my apologies for such a presumption of a lack of foresight on your behalf." he then added, apologising at the end and bowing slightly towards her.

That was the thing about centaurs. They were aggressive and abrasive when they felt slighted or threatened, but overall, they were very courteous and polite to other races.

Kai was silent for a moment, before shaking his head a little.

"Ah, right." he said. "I'm Kaitim. Most call me 'Kai'." he introduced himself.

"My name's Adymir. Though 'Adym' works fine." Adym chimed in.

"I am Karivyn Hallowfen." Karivyn said, fully introducing himself.

Kai then looked at Sara, before shaking his head a little.

"She's very shy around new people, so she might not introduce herself until she knows you better." he told Lyrei.

"...and you've already 'kind of' arranged for travel?" he then asked, wondering what THAT meant, exactly.

Kai narrowed his eyes when the woman said what she did.

"Then we'll go THERE." he told her.

"We'll take Callie to where she can be treated." he said further.

"I don't care how. We'll find a way." he vowed.

However, no sooner had he said that, did he find himself wondering how they would get there. Travel wouldn't be easy with Callie indisposed as she was. And he couldn't just carry her like he had in the water.

And putting her on Karivyn's back probably wouldn't be much better for her health.

Kai was silent for a moment, and bit his lower lip.

"I don't know." he admitted.

"The medic here is doing all they can, but I think they can only do so much." he told her.

"We'll know more, soon." he then said.

"I think we can do something to save her, but... if we can, it won't be HERE." he went on.

"I don't think this port city has any real resources for that." he sighed.

Kai shook his head.

"I don't know for sure." he replied.

"I mean... well... the water was cold, yeah, but... that shouldn't have been a problem. Not for her, anyway." he said.

"I just know that she was injured when one of the drakes picked her up in its clawed feet, and then it dropped her when she froze its foot and smashed it." he explained to her further.

"Hence the bandages on her shoulders." he then commented.

"But yeah, I... I just... the one in charge of healing here is doing their best."

Kai nodded.

"Sure." he replied.

He then opened the door more fully, and the three of them saw Callie in a bed.

And she looked pale as anything.

"Callie!" Adym exclaimed.

"What happened!?" he asked Kai.

"She got sick." Kai responded. "Quickly."

Kai looked back at Sara, and sighed quietly.

"...she's sick." he replied.

"She got sick while we were swimming here." he told her.

"She almost drowned, couldn't keep an ice platform up, and she's got a very high temperature." he explained.

"I could feel it off of her when I came here." he went on.

"...so yeah... she's very sick..."

Adym nodded in response.

"Thank you." he replied.

The three of them then headed down the hall... with Adym being a little quicker than Karivyn, and stopped at the door in question.

"Hello?" Adym said, knocking on it.

"Is... anyone in there?" he asked further.

There was silence for a moment, before the door was opened by Kai.

"...hey." he said.
