She was waiting for a few seconds, before there was a reply.

Depends on who this is. it read.

Kiah just sighed and shook his head.

It's me. Kiah. It's really me. I'm not the other one. she sent in response.

Again, silence for a moment or two, before there was a reply.

Lindsay doesn't want to leave the house right now. And I'm not forcing him to. Ash sent her.

I don't necessarily know if it would be 'better' if you came here, but if you must speak to him, it's the only option. the last text told her.

"Sure." Ilias responded.

On their way there, he told her all the relevant information. Specifically, how long she was 'gone', what had happened, and what he knew. He hadn't been around for all of it, but he DID have info from others.

And overall, Kiah had to agree that it could have been a lot worse.

However, how Lindsay seemed to be after encountering K was concerning.

"...but that's about it." he said as they entered her office.

"And no, I don't know when Nate will be back to work." he added.

Ilias paused for a moment, thinking about it.

"Oh!" he said, snapping his fingers.

"Right, it's been plugged in at the lab." he told her.

"Your office." he went on.

"Come on, let's go." he said further.

"It should be fully charged by now." he chuckled.

Ilias just continued to hug her and hold her close, practically unable to speak. He then managed to find his voice, and choked a little.

"I missed you too." he said.

"It must have been so horrible..." he went on.

"I'm sorry." he continued. "I'm sorry you had to go through that..." he said further.

"Are you all right?" he asked.

"What horrible things were done to you?" he asked her.

Ilias whirled around and looked at her, before racing towards her, almost seeming like he'd tackle her, before stopping abruptly in front of her.

"...." he was silent for a moment.

"....Kiah?" he then asked.

"The same." Kiah responded.

Ilias' eyes watered a little, and his lip quivered, before he wrapped his arms around her and held her close.

"Thank heavens you're back!" he exclaimed.

He looked over her monitors again, checking them against how she'd been, and then nodded.

"Dr. Edwards said if the numbers didn't change drastically, then I would have the authority to disconnect you." he told her.

"And the numbers have changed, but not drastically, and well within expected numbers upon your awakening." he reasoned.

"So I shall proceed to disconnect you properly." he finished, before doing so carefully, methodically, and procedurally. Overall, it took him about 10 minutes, and he sighed when he was done.

"And I assume Dr. Nicolo is here already, and has been impatiently waiting." he sighed.

"Do you wish to remain her so he can visit, or do you wish to leave and meet him out there?" he asked her.

The man nodded in response.

"Of course." he told her.

Once he'd finished checking everything and recorded it, he excused himself and was gone for a couple of minutes, before returning with a plastic cup of cold water for her, as well as a pair of painkillers for her headache.

"Here." he said, handing them to her.

"And Dr. Nicolo has been informed that you are awake." he told her.

"...I'd wager a guess that he will be here within 3 minutes, given how he sounded..." he then mumbled further.

The staff member heaved a heavy sigh of obvious relief, shook his head, and nodded.

"Less than you'd think." he said.

"There was some... initial... damage, I suppose?" he told her.

"But nothing permanent. And it ended up being not as bad as I assume you're thinking." he went on.

"And of course." he then said. "I'll bring you something after I check your vitals and monitors." he told her further, before proceeding to do his job.

"Welcome back." he added with a small smile.

When she came to, she found herself laying in a bed. Looking around, she found herself in a room at the Unit medical wing, hooked up to various machines to monitor her vitals and such.

It was all familiar. Encouragingly so.

It seemed that what L had done had worked... assuming that was real.

Had it all been a dream?

She wasn't left wondering that for long, when one of the male staff walked in.

"Oh! You're awake." he said, before pausing.

"...Dr. Remmington..." he then asked, trepidation in his tone.

"K?" Ilias asked.

"K, what's...?" he started to ask, before he started to think about it.

"Headache?" he asked her.

"Migraine." K growled.

"...right." Ilias muttered.

"I can guess what's going to happen now. At least, I hope so, anyway." he said further.

He then readied himself to catch her when she passed out.

"You did." Nate replied.

"I mean tell them that it's been done." he told her.

"You know, actually TELL people that I did it, instead of just end up a no-show, leaving people to wonder what happened to be after I went to a psychotic woman for an experimental treatment?" he continued.

"You know, a courtesy thing." he finished, before leaving the room and leaving the two of them alone.

Ilias just sighed heavily.

"Guess you had your manners beaten out of you first." he commented.

"Figured it wouldn't be." Nate responded.

"Anyway, I guess I should let the people at the medical wing know about this." he then said.

"Might be a good idea." Ilias agreed.

"There anything else I need to know?" Nate asked K.

"Before I go, and before you're gone from here, probably?"

"Right." Nate mumbled.

"...she'd better." Ilias then said.

"I don't want to have lost her." he went on.

"I know the feeling." Nate chimed in.

"But thank you." he then said to K.

Nate was silent for a moment, grabbing the bottle, but not looking at her. He then raised his head, and looked right at her... where she could see his now solid-white pupils.

But before she could say anything, he yelled out.

"Oh, GOD!" he screamed, jumping back and covering his eyes.

"AH! AH!" he yelled.

"Nate!? What's wrong!?" Ilias asked.

"...was NOT prepared for that..." Nate grumbled.
