Kai nodded in response.

"Sure thing." he replied.

"Better than hanging around out here all day, glaring at your doppelganger." he muttered.

Some time had passed, and Kai had met Adym and Karivyn. The 5 of them had gotten decently close, and had all decided that traveling together when they reached the other continent was probably the best course of action.

At the moment, Adym and Sara were in the latter's room, while Kai and Callie were strolling on deck... where they saw Karivyn standing at one of the railings.

And he was looking right up at the sky intently.

Kai paused when he heard that.

"...ah." he said. "That answers a few questions." he admitted with a small laugh.

"Wood Elf, I assume?" he asked.

Callie nodded in response.

"Makes sense." Kai then said, crossing his arms over his chest and looking around once more.

"...hm." he mumbled.

"Looks like it might rain soon." he commented, looking at the darker clouds in the sky. "Hope it's not too heavy."

Kai looked to be stunned for a moment.

"...what?" he asked.

"The... forest guardian?" he asked her.

"I... that..." he stammered. "I see..." he mumbled.

"I'm sure there's a valid reason as to WHY you killed such a guardian?" he asked her.

"Because... I'm pretty sure you're not the type to do something like that unprovoked, amnesia or not."

Kai shook his head slightly, and sighed.

"Fair." he said.

"I... yeah, knowing what I know now, that's understandable." he admitted.

"But yes, I was trying to figure out what the coral was going on." he muttered. "I was confused, angry, sad, concerned... the whole lot of bad emotions." he admitted quietly.

"It's a massive relief now to know she's not you, and that you're doing relatively all right." he continued. "...apparent memory issues aside." he then added.

"Regardless, what have you been doing since you landed here in Adaminia again?" he asked.

"You can try, but even if you succeed, you'll have to save it again." Kai muttered. "Can't save it, can't fix it." he went on. "I just think it's horrible that she's smearing your name like that." he then said.

"She's acting high and mighty, she's acting like she deserves everything handed to her, just... rgh." he growled.

"But... if it takes the attention AWAY from you... I suppose it's fine to let her have her pretend time." he sighed.

"We should probably just steer clear of her altogether." he then reasoned.

"...not that that'll be hard. She seems to want to keep a pretty wide perimetre of empty space around her."

"Pretty much." Kai agreed.

"Let's just try and enjoy the trip." he suggested.

"..." he was then silent, and looked around a little, focusing on the one girl from before.

"By the way..." he said to Callie. "She's trying to go around saying she's you." he told her. "And she has people believing her." he went on.

"I was fooled at first, as she DOES look like you, but... yeah, she's an imposter." he said further.

"I'm angry, but... well... the more I think on it, the more this is actually GOOD for you." he continued.

"I don't think she has ANY idea the bullseye she's painted on herself."

Kai thought for a moment, before giving his room to her. From what she knew of the layout, and what she explored, he was on the same level as her, but on the opposite end, effectively.

"A basic room." he shrugged.

"I was able to afford it by finding lost bits and pieces of treasure and coins at the bottom of the ocean." he told her further.

"So it wasn't too hard." he went on.

"And I didn't want anything too fancy." he continued.

"You know it's not my style." he chuckled.

Kai just crossed his arms over his chest.

"...that is a good question." he said.

"I... I don't know." he admitted. "I get the feeling that we'll find out while either on this ship, or shortly after we land on the other continent." he told them, pausing for a moment afterwards.

".......I hope." he added.

"That... yeah, I really hope that's the case." he repeated.

"I'd rather not be wandering blindly."

Kai just sighed deeply.

"Yeah..." he muttered.

"We got interrupted by a big jerk." he told Sara.

"So, why are you traveling?" he asked.

"I am because... well... I was told to." he then admitted. "Someone that can see the future told me to travel on this ship to the other continent, and that I would meet important friends along the way." he said further.

"What about you?"

Kai made a mental note to switch languages whenever he was speaking to Sara, so that this wouldn't happen again. Once he had that ingrained into his brain, he cleared his throat and nodded at the child.

"As long as you're with someone you trust, that's all that matters." he told her.

He then smiled a little at her, before shifting his gaze left and right.

"We're pretty similar." he whispered.

"I REALLY like water." he went on, giving her a small hint as to who and what he was.

"Did you know I can speak to fish and sea creatures?" he then asked her.

Kai looked at her and smiled softly, waving back.

"Hello." he greeted her.

"I promise you can trust me." he told her. "Callie and I are childhood friends. We've known each other for a while." he said further.

"I've been worried about her safety every since we got separated some time ago." he went on.

"Are you here alone?" he asked.

"No, that can't be." he then said. "Did you come here with Callie and her friend?"

Kai raised an eyebrow when he heard that.

"Woke up in his bed, huh?" he asked, before sighing.

"Interesting that we landed so close to each other, but missed each other." he went on.

"Anyway, it was suggested that I make tracks so as not to call attention to myself, so I headed to the port city and spent most of my time in the ocean closeby." he informed her further.

"As for where your friend is... I don't know?" he shrugged.

"Want to go find him or something?"

"...ah." Kai muttered.

"Right, you weren't there to see." he recalled, scratching the back of his head and chuckling sheepishly.

"He almost got me." he admitted. "But I guess someone else was traveling via those tunnels, or was keeping an eye on us." he told her. "It all happened so fast, so I didn't see WHO, but someone interjected and got me away from him." he said further.

"The portal opened up and dropped me near a small town." he went on.

"A woman there calling herself 'The Oracle' told me to make my way to this ship and make sure I was on it."

Kai looked at her questioningly for a moment.

"...oh!" he exclaimed.

"Wait.. holes?" he asked her, before remembering the terms that they departed on... and how it was not the best, to understate it.

"...Vyran..." he growled.

"Damn it." he cursed. "He did something to you." he went on, anger in his tone. "And from the sounds of it, he gave you some form of amnesia that was massively alleviated just now." he then said further.

"...but you sure you'll be all right?" he asked her.
