@Koah: I'm doing pretty good! Just joined yesterday, learning my way around the site, which I already just love.

Could probably do without the machinery noises out front of the house, though; two neighbors in the same cul-de-sac are having their driveways dug up at the same time, I think for utility work of some kind (but hey, at least they get spiffy new driveways out of the deal!). Even that wouldn't be so bad except the machinery has the cul-de-sac blocked off and my roommate had to park in a neighbor's driveway to come home a little bit ago.

It's interesting to watch the progression of their work, I guess, lol.

How are you doing today? Less noisy for you, I hope!

@Another Movie Addict: Oh no my heart--!! Junk journals are fun but maybe don't ruin something of value. I mean they're called junk journals for a reason, right?

@Wildfire: Oh gosh, I have a ton of hobbies (and yet spend most of my time putzing around on the computer, go figure). I raise isopods and Sea Monkeys (brine shrimp), and I have a YouTube channel for them though I haven't updated it in a long time (I have new plans and materials for it soon though!), and I'm hoping to maybe have millipedes or even a jumping spider in the future. I'm also a plant parent; I have a few fittonias, a couple pothos, a purple passion (it's got purple fuzz!), among others. I really enjoy designing/building aquariums and terrariums, and I have plans to transform a 2.5 gallon aquarium into a terrarium for my Dwarf White isopods!

I also maintain a personal website purely for the fun of it, kind of a throwback style thing in the vein more of how the internet was before social media took over. Probably obviously I'm a bit nuts for avatar sites like Voltra, and when I'm in the mood (it comes and goes) I can dive into Minecraft for pretty much days at a time (and I mean like. Barely sleeping days at a time, yay hyperfixations! XD). Oh, and I'm a hoarder collector of a bunch of stuff, including plushies, hedgehogs, rainbows, and teeny souvenirs/mementos in itty bitty glass bottles that I keep on a string. :D

And you? o3o

(Also I didn't sleep last night either but it was mostly because I hyperfixated on fixing up my profile all fancy-like. Did I mention I love web design? Hehe.)

@Wildfire: Yeah, even when I lived a stone's throw from Disneyland, I only got to go a couple times, and even then it was because of networking, basically. Friend of a friend with a friend who had spare passes or something like that, lmao.

@Another Movie Addict: Oh god, I don't envy you that job. That sounds like it'd be so hard to see them wasted and ruined like that!

@Koah: Good morning!

@Another Movie Addict: Oh I know! The abandoned books, sometimes there's antiques or neat signage or other really cool miscellany. It's hard to let it be destroyed! Even knowing it'll all be plowed into the same pile and go to the dump with the rest of the building.

Oh that's super cool; I'd love to explore an abandoned theme park. o3o

@Purpsy: Lol, the stuff has the most satisfying texture to eat, too. I always end up putting way too much on my ice cream when I have it!

Edit: unrelated, but huzzah, I finally afforded shoes! :D

@Another Movie Addict: Me too; I've definitely gone down some rabbit holes of photos of abandoned stuff before, and I follow several urban explorers on YouTube. God sometimes they go into these amazing houses or hotels or something, sometimes they look like they really only need a little TLC to make them functional again, but they're always "about to be torn down" or something, because of course they are. Kills me.

@Wildfire: I probably couldn't even do the passes, to be perfectly honest. Disability income kinda blows, plus I don't have my own transportation and bussing it to Orlando does NOT sound like a fun time, lol. But like if a family member invited me or something, I sure wouldn't say no!

@Wildfire: Oh cool! And yeah, the theme parks, lol, believe it or not I haven't been to a Florida theme park since I was about 10 (I'm 37 now). I'm hoping to go back sometime soon but it ain't exactly cheap so I'm not really holding my breath.

And Voltra is lovely! Everyone's really friendly and I've been having some great conversations already. And aw, thank you; it's not much but I like to think my many years of avatar-creating on various sites have added up to some kind of skill, lol.

@Another Movie Addict: I love abandoned stuff. But I've never had nerve enough to explore anything much on my own, and never really had like-minded friends to go with me. I almost had a chance to check out Centralia, Pennsylvania about a decade ago, but alas that never worked out. I'm also a shutterbug and man, abandoned stuff makes for such cool photography.

@Purpsy: I recommend the "Magic Shell" chocolate sauce; it hardens into a chocolate "shell" upon contact with ice cream and it's really good. :D

@Aisukohi: I loved it, but truthfully I really was only able to make it work because I was living with a friend. Also hello, fellow Floridian!

Side note on ice cream: Blue Bell has this stuff called "Cookie Two Step" that's essentially their amazing Cookies and Cream with chunks of cookie dough mixed into it. It's kinda my new favorite.

@Wildfire: Central, on the Gulf side! On the one hand, I'm happy to be close to family (I have a lot here, and I was born here), and it's neat that pretty much everything seems to grow here, but on the other hand, I really do miss Los Angeles. There was always something going on, something to do out there. But for now, this is home. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

And yes, Volts, must create all the outfits!

Unrelated to anything but good lord the emojis on this site are SO cute!

@Wildfire: Hiya, thank you! :D As you may have noticed from my previous post, I can be quite a chatterbox once I get started, lol.

@Another Movie Addict: Plus there's people with medical conditions, too (and sometimes they're also wearing heavy cosplay--I can think of at least two people off the top of my head that would put themselves through absolute hell for the fun of dressing up). That's just ludicrous and dangerous. I don't think I'd be going back. :/

Funny you should mention camel backs; I just got my first one a couple weeks ago! It's rainbow, because I see a rainbow and I'm drawn to it (it's actually part of Spencer's Gifts' Pride collection this year!). I'm hoping it'll help encourage me to go out and walk/explore my area more. I have this awesome walking path nearby but I've been putting off really exploring it much.

@Aisukohi: Thanks! And yeah, like I said, I wouldn't want to go back after an incident like that.

That said, man, I miss conventions. I haven't been to any in several years now; I used to live in Los Angeles so I got to go to all sorts of cool conventions and events, but I've since moved around a couple times and now I'm in Florida, with no local friends, or at least none that share my interests. I'm even friends--for a good few years now--with multiple of the artists that frequent the West Coast conventions. I miss Wondercon!

@GoblinsAndTea: Oh holy crap you're right! Thank you so much! Yay, I get to keep my old account without keeping the old name.

Aw, that sucks. To be honest, I only have a lot of my old avatars because I started, with Gaia, obsessively saving my avatars over the years. Eventually I compiled them into a timelapse of all of them!

@dragoness129: Oh yay, I guess I joined just in time, didn't I? I look forward to my first event here. :D

I'm just gonna jump in, but wow, that sounds borderline illegal, to restrict water availability like that! And what about people who cant' drink from the fountains/can't drink tap water? Just budget for water instead of fun stuff I guess. Yikes. :(

(Hi, I'm new and just kinda jumping into conversations!)
