@KittyBeary: Thanks so much, will do!

@Totalanimefan: I found her old premades, and using some of her provided div names as jumping off points I figured out the rest myself (with a little help from a friend in my web development discord, too, lol). I think my profile looks quite nice so far! Thank you so much for the tip, it helped tremendously.

I'm doing okay, other than the realization that my barely 3-year-old mattress needs replacing. :( To be fair, I do spend most of my time on it (my computer is on it because my desk chair murders my back) but even still, even if you double its average use, that's like maybe the equivalent of 6 years? I've had bed in a bag foam mattresses last better than this thing! So now I'm shopping for a mattress.

I think I found one on Walmart's website that looks pretty good though, so there's that. In the meantime I've rotated the old one (it's one-sided so I can't flip it) and stuck an old flattened pillow under the hole.

Whining aside (lol) I'm super looking forward to my first event. I love that there's contests; in the old days on Roliana and I think on Ernya? I used to enter the contests and it was so much fun.

@Aisukohi: Yeah, I think I need some accessories of some kind, but overall for a first avatar, I think it's come along quite nicely!

In unrelated news, I just discovered, upon taking the sheets off my bed to wash them, that my 3-year-old mattress needs replacing. There's a monsterous dent in the damn thing where I lay. :vanora_cry:

@Koah: Ooh zucchini! Yum. And wow, that sounds incredible! Paths and ponds and all that? We've got a fairly typical suburban fenced back yard here, lol. I have a patch of ground that's primarily weeds and cat shit I'd be working with. :P Good luck with your garden!

@Aisukohi: Thank you! I has shoes now! XD

@PoeticTorment: It forever infuriates me that social security became 'permanent poverty' for so many instead of 'help you get to a more self-sufficient state'. Meh.

And ooooh dear I didn't know that. I don't expect to have a ton of money in there even if I do qualify but that's still kinda crappy that the government gets to take your money instead of your loved ones using towards final expenses or something.

Then again, I am talking about United States Social Security.

Totally didn't forget to check back in here this morning, lol. >_>;

@koneko:
I have a hard time focusing on stuff too, but then I'll hyper-fixate and be glued to something for hours, lol (like my profile on this site; I didn't sleep last night because I was working on it). I haven't heard of Ooblets. :o And yay another plant parent! I keep wanting to get air plants but I've never ordered any, just adopted the occasional ball moss that falls out of our tree, lol. Cats and dogs totally count; I mean I count my tiny pets so why not?

Terrariums are so fun; I watch a guy on YouTube who goes by SerpaDesign and he's a freaking wizard at terrariums, aquariums, paludariums, etc. He's where I got the inspiration and the information on how to start my own! I highly recommend him if you need inspiration. :D

I used to have bettas! I miss them a lot (I once had six at a time, and two were special needs!) but they definitely do require more maintenance than too many people tend to think (at least I haven't seen a betta in a vase on someone's cold desk in a long time).

I try not to open tiktok if I can help it, lol; it's a freaking time vortex, I swear. I do follow a ton of YouTubers though! That's cool that you've got one to bond over with your partner, too!

@ChiffonOrange:
I draw a little; I enjoy it, I'm just awful at it lol. I'm usually not motivated enough to draw either, but I recently did this 100 Days of Art challenge over on Gaia and somehow, on my third year, I finally managed to complete it with something drawn each day, even if it was a doodle. I totally get you about being able to undo mistakes; it's why I scan and ink digitally lmao.And oh man, I used to write so much as a teenager and in college (primarily fanfic but still), but somewhere along the way it got too hard to focus on it and I haven't really written anything in ages.

I mostly play Minecraft and similar 'sandbox survival' type cames. I like digging and building bases, lol. Never really got into RPGs and such myself, not even Pokemon. Video game music! That makes up a big chunk of what I listen to, but I also have lots of fan songs and more 'indie' stuff like Steam Powered Giraffe and other smaller creators. I use YouTube as my music player, too, especially since I have Premium and can listen with my phone screen off. It's great for walks.

Web design can be a lot of fun, but also can be super frustrating. Part of that depends on how simple or complex you want your site to be, though. There's definitely a learning curve, but you should seriously give it a shot some time! I use a host called Neocities and they give you a brief explanation on how to do some basics, but it's not too unreasonably difficult to Google what you want to do to cobble something together. Even if you start with a template and learn how to change stuff from there.

Then again I've been building sites since I was about 12 (and I'm 37 now), so I may be biased. ^^;

@Count Trashula:
Aw, geez, yeah, not having personal space definitely cuts down on the hobby options. I lived on couches for a couple of years a while back and if it weren't for my computer (which was a gift at the best possible time!) I'd have lost my damn mind (I already kinda was, truth be told). Congrats on getting moved out! Sculpting is fun; I like polymer clay as I never really learned how to use "real" clay. I'm not great at it but it's quite therapeutic.

Ooh, cake decorating? I thought for a bit that I might like to get into that but other than just casual "I want cake Imma make a cake" I can't say that I have much skill in it. I love watching other people do it, though!

And yeees, aquascaping and terrariums are so fun! I'm working on my first serious terrarium (got most of the materials, just have to sit down and do it), and I really, really want to build a paludarium some day, with isopods and springtails on the land area and fairy shrimp in the water (since I'm unlikely to build anything big enough for proper fish, I think). Like I said above I really recommend SerpaDesign if you've not seen his stuff before; he builds such creative stuff, it's amazing.

I hope you get plenty of chance to try all those cool things you want to try out!

Sorry this got so long. I'm uh, kind of a chatterbox. ^_^;;

@PoeticTorment: I don't blame you, I'd be upset, too. :( And yikes, that's a heck of a fee for a return they screwed you on!

Isn't it ridiculous? Like, want to save for a better computer because you want to make better videos and stream and maybe, just maybe actually earn a little cash now and again (if you're like super lucky)? Well too bad, no computer you buy can be more than $2000 so you better hope that can cover it. Want a car so you can recover a little independence? HA you get the most broken down piece of crap money can't buy.

It's super dumb. :x

Oh!! I keep meaning to look into that, darn it! I was diagnosed when I was 24 so I'm pretty sure I qualify for it! Thanks for reminding me! o3o

@Another Movie Addict: Aw, man, I want a sword! lol.

I actually once had a plan to make a "weapons display" and have it be all like video game prop weapons, like a Minecraft sword and junk like that. Never managed to make that one happen and I'm not sure it still really gels with my aesthetic now.

@Koah: My mom's growing a successful garden in her yard, and she's also got a peach tree I think? But she expects the squirrels will get to the fruit before she can. (Pity; I bet she'd make some killer preserves with 'em!) My roommate has tried to convince me to do a veggie garden in the back yard (her house; I rent a room), but I know it'd be a ton of work to prepare the yard for it. Maybe if I could buy some 5-gallon buckets and some good soil, or at least build a little raised bed. But I'm just not prepared to do all the digging and junk in this section of yard that hasn't been maintained in literally years (at least as long as I've lived here, and I've lived here three years).

I'd love to grow tomatoes, and maybe bell peppers... and pumpkins. Just because I really love pumpkins, lol. To be perfectly honest, with your peppers, I uh, hadn't really considered that problem either!! We have a seemingly decent population of bees in the area here apparently, so at least if I did do veggies sometime I'm sure they'd get plenty pollinated. Good luck with your peppers, I really hope it works out!

@Another Movie Addict: That's not a bad discount at all! I admit I'm a little jealous. I haven't even been able to go to a thrift shop in the longest time. I miss it! And antique stores. I used to hit those up with my mom all the time growing up.

@Another Movie Addict: Oh man, I'll bet! And lol! I can understand that policy; the good stuff would disappear off the shelves if the employees had first dibs!

@pachi: Oh, I'm so sorry. I can understand, at his age, opting out of more tests. You guys clearly did a good job taking care of him if he made it to 19, though! Sounds like a well-loved kitty.

@Koah: Ooh, new house, that's fun! And yeah there's been a couple times now where the noises have definitely given me pause, if not outright startled me! I think the only thing I kinda sorta have to do today is finally pot the Golden Pothos cuttings I've got, but I may put that off another day. >_>

@Wildfire: Oh I'm certainly not ashamed of being eclectic, hehe, I embrace it! A draw, too, but not very well. But, I just finished a 100 Days of Art challenge over on Gaia, and I'm darn proud of that and the half-full sketchbook it created! I also love photography and pixel art. Man I haven't been camping in years. My mom and I almost camped in Key West a couple years ago but turned out the campsite had no shade, and it was miserably hot, so we both kinda noped out of that and ended up at a hotel, lol. And oh boy, that is a transition!

Aw man, you guys are making me miss my books! I had a series of unfortunate events cause some unexpected moves, and my books (and some other things) were left behind with friends. Hopefully I'll be able to get them back eventually, though I don't look forward to the shipping fees. I also had a collection of comics; up until the first move I'd been collecting the Invader Zim comics from the very first issue. I'm bummed that I wasn't able to keep up with it.

@Wildfire: Lol, I guess I am a wee bit eclectic there, aren't I? What sort of stuff do you do for fun?

What'd you have for breakfast? I had... soup. XD;

@Anarchist Beauty: Haha I moved from Los Angeles to (briefly) Michigan to frickin' FLORIDA. I'm with you; humidity sucks.

Also hello! I'm new! And evidently a Ravenclaw (hell yeah I share a house with Luna!).

@pachi: Oh gosh, poor kitty! Did the vet find a reason for it?
