@ChiffonOrange: Back when I was younger, I used to go to a lot of the A rated places because I was naughty. I mean I was over 18 but I'm pretty much done with that kind of stuff, so I guess that's why I don't stay there long. I was also apart of the My Little Pony community there. People had avatars that literally looked like the cartoon versions. It was fun for a while, but that community can be very toxic, and I didn't need drama so I just kind of stepped aside and let them do whatever. I have a few friends still that I pop on and say hi to once in a while but most of them I have on Discord now, so no real need for going to SL at all.

@ChiffonOrange: AW was pretty limited when it came to avatar creation. When you paid or won a citizenship you got to choose from a variety of premade avatars. I think there was the ability to get custom ones made but that cost extra o/c. Second Life, (and the reason it got so popular) is the way you can customize your avatar with millions of different things. Even back in 2008 you could change your look with clothes/hair/skin and stuff but now there's mesh bodies and hair and you can literally look human in Second Life and not like some polygonal horror from an old video game lol.

Second Life has really improved since the beginning. New things being added and changed and upgraded all the time. The communities there (like with everything) can be toxic which is why I don't usually stay long. It's either a lot of X rated stuff, or people that troll. There are some really nice places you can visit if you just avoid people. With the upgrade to mesh stuff now, you can find places that look so realistic and pretty. It's not for everyone. Second Life for new people can be kind of terrifying if you're not used to the kind of place it is. As default you only get G and M places as far as SIM hopping. You have to have an account for a while or pay for a premium account before you can to go A rated places. So there are still places you can go that aren't ruined by bad people, since most SIMS have moderators to kick out bad people if they're doing A rated stuff in a G rated area.

Sorry for the wall of text. I just went on a tangent.

@ChiffonOrange: Active World was the precursor to SL. You dropped in, in the Gatekeeper world, which was pretty neat. There were some paths and hidden secrets and you could drive around on jetskis and stuff, but you always came in as a "Tourist" in a stereotypical tourist outfit, and in order to change your avatar you had to become a "citizen". You could either pay for it or win one, during Friday Bingo. Each other places (like SIMs for SL) were called dreams. People who made things with textures and shapes and what not. It was good to basically hang out and talk to people, or explore other dreams people made.

Technically AW still exists, but it's very...different. When you come in, there's no Gatekeeper world anymore, you just drop into a sort of tutorial area and you just move about and choose your avatar from a selection and there are only a few people who actually still go there. I popped in for a bit and actually met up with someone I knew from when I was in AW from before. He never left. He didn't follow the Second Life trend.

@ChiffonOrange: I originally started in Active World, which was the 3D hang out place aside from IMVU. I tried IMVU when it first started but I kept meeting really creepy people so I never went back. Then Second Life came around and all the people that were hanging out in Active World started going to SL. I went to it, and my computer was such a brick that it wouldn't load textures and this was back when they had the tutorial world to begin with and you had to go through that first. I couldn't read anything because textures wouldn't load, and I thought it was just that area. I was like "This is what AW people are leaving for?" so I uninstalled it. It wasn't until like a year or so later, when my grandmother gave me her hand me down laptop to get a new one, was I able to actually accomplish the tutorial and teleport to other worlds. I still go to SL today, but off and on. I started in 2008.

@ChiffonOrange: I would mostly talk with friends I met on Second Life, and I'd do it rarely since my situation is that I'm usually in the living room where my grandmother watches TV really loud cus she's hard of hearing, so I have to try and talk over the TV. When she gets ready for bed I usually have a good window to talk, but I mostly don't do it because of background noise.

@SuperZombiePotatoe: As long as it worked, guess it had a good outcome in the end.

@ChiffonOrange: I also tend to ramble to people I DO get to talk to. Like friends I meet online from games and stuff. I'm shy at first, when I'm on voice but when I get to know you, I can literally talk your ear off lol.

@ChiffonOrange: Oh I always had the problem of being interrupted or talked over because I'm literally the youngest in the family. Even my youngest cousin is the same age as me, but older by 6 months. So I was always ignored, interrupted or talked over. Which is why I learned to talk really loud and even now, I'll be told to stop yelling and I'll be like...that's the only way I can be heard. I guess talking to myself or 'imaginary' characters was my only outlet for that frustration.

@ChiffonOrange: This may sound strange, but I often pretended that anime characters (Mostly Inuyasha) would follow me around and I'd have private conversations with them. Even to this day, I often talk to myself like I'm talking to another person. I'll be in my room or doing something around the house and I'll explain out stuff that happened to me before, or rant out something vocally as if I was talking to someone. Nope! Just talking to myself. Also as a kid I'd kind of did the same thing, only I'd do little "scenes" of like fan fiction of stories or movies and I'd play all the characters, and I'd just do it aloud in my room.

@SuperZombiePotatoe: That was her way of getting you to be less shy and talk aloud. Though that does seem a bit brutal at the same time. "Hey if you nod or shake your head too much your head will fall off" lol.

@Lucifera: I literally stopped playing Overwatch for basically this same reason. I usually do the missions where it's real people against AI with no real people on the other end, so I'm not used to true PVP arena type gaming. The literal one time I decide to do a PVP mission as D.Va, I had people on voice saying "The person on D.Va is horrible, kick her out." or something to that effect. Or just yelling at me to fight when I WAS fighting, just strategically. Like I'm not going to put my big freaking Mech out in the middle of the fight so it's an easy target. I was like behind a tree or something. I never played PVP on Overwatch again. Nor did I play against AI for much longer before I left completely.

I also used to play Perfect World and back when I played that I had a character on a PVP server. I was new to the game so I didn't know how crappy people could be. PKers who seek out the weak and just keep killing them and camping in places you respawn so they keep killing you. Now if I play any MMO anymore, I make sure it's a PVE ONLY server so I don't risk people who troll and just kill other players for no reason. Too many of those these days that just ruin the fun for everyone else.

@Gossip: I kind of found out on my own that Santa didn't exist. I was a sneaky ass kid one Christmas Eve and I peeked out of my room and literally saw my mom putting presents around the tree. Those same ones I saw the next morning said "From Santa" I'm like...well if he existed my mom wouldn't of put them out ahead of time. I think I kept believing for a while after that and let them tell me on their own. But I kinda already knew. And since I knew Santa wasn't real I knew the Easter Bunny and Tooth Fairy were fake also. Plus there's also the kids at school who already didn't believe and will tell you he doesn't exist as well.

@Gossip: It was kinda silly to say that in the first place lol. I mean they'd of either had to constantly keep up with the ruse or dissapoint your poor little heart. Almost kind of on the same vein as Santa, Tooth Fairy, Easter Bunny, but those are easier to keep going since it's what all parents tell their kids. I really can't remember anything my parents said I could do and not really do like that. Aside from the Santa, etc. type stuff, I don't think they did that. They were usually pretty straight forward with me. Even if I drew a picture of something, they'd say it was good, but did constructive criticism also, so I could improve.

@Gossip: When they stopped did they go "aww I guess your nose button stopped working" or something like "You were only able to use it for a short time before it went away?". Or did they just confess they were tricking you?

Zane summoned a hand-full of skeleton soldiers with one of his powers, and the shambling bone soldiers started wailing on the Belcher. They kept fighting mindlessly until their HP went to 0 with being axed or melted by the acid. "I can keep throwing up these guys which'll help some." he said as he cast a control spell on the Boss. The Boss wouldn't be 'controlled' but he'd be prone for a small window as it fought the control. "Wail on him now while he's prone!" he said as he sent out all his ranged attacks at the boss, watching his HP meter tick down a little at a time. "I have an AOE poison attack, but you'll need to get out of the way otherwise you'll get poisoned." He said as he got up as close as he dared to set off his AOE. He ran back and used a health pot as the poison 'bomb' went off. A good chunk of HP went off the boss. "His stomach is his weak spot. Aim there as best as you can."

"I've been playing since the beginning man. I tried to get into the beta testing but missed signing up by a day. Man I was pissed. As soon as it was open to the public I jumped on. I have some other classes I tried out first. I have an Element Mage, that's a bit OP, and a Moonlight Hunter. I just like the unique twists they put on regular classes from other MMOs. And yeah I spend way too much time on this game. Mostly doing dungeons with random people for good loot. Whatever I don't need I sell at the Auction house, I dismantle stuff that is for my class but low level to boost my existing armor....you know the usual."
