I created a thread in the Arcade. Go abuse that!

OK so lets do an A-Z of stuff you can find in a camp, or in a forest, or in a cabin. Anything related to outdoors is fair game! Can be items, animals, plants, etc.

I'll start us off with A

Acorn!

@Totalanimefan: Well it brought me out of lurk mode. I actually was just leaving Voltra on a tab to get the daily gift. Then Dappervolk happened and Also the Season Pass on Fer.al so I was doing those instead. I finished the Season Pass, so I can concentrate more on Voltra now.

And I try to plan the breeding. I think the first couple, River and Snowy wasn't really planned...but the rest I kind of tried to pair birds off to see what the mix of their colors would make. I got some interesting colors. Teenie being the best, but I've gotten different shades of blue, grey and teal from the mixes.

@Totalanimefan: Hey there! Nice to see you again <3

And yeah, Teenie is such a cute boy. He mated with with a female twice. Last set of babies I got, I mated him with a Lutino (Like Albino but solid yellow) and got two daddy clones and one mostly yellow like momma.

Ok so most of the pictures I have are just random solo pictures. So here is Teenie the first born bab.

And this is Pookers. Named actually Spooky since he hatched on Halloween, but Pookers is a funner name.

They normally eat seed. Lemme see if I can dig up some pictures. I have some older ones of them grouped together.

Well if anyone wants to know about parakeets, I guess I'm the resident bird person lol.

Posted in A Clawful Catastrophe Posted 4 years ago

Well the first parakeets I got, was a male/female pair I got from Pet Smart in 2013. Then the following January I got another female and on St. Patrick's day I got another male. The first male and second female paired off and that's when the breeding kind of started. Then, off and on from that point, I bred parakeets together. And then even some of the offspring paired off and had babies too.

The wax flakes off if you like roll it between your fingers. Usually they get preened by someone else or they rub their heads on something to release the wax. I imagine when feathers come back in, it's itchy as heck too.

if you see a parakeet or any other bird with little spikes on them, that's new feathers growing in. They are coated with a waxy type covering and then they fluff out when the wax is gone. When my birds molt, they get little pins on their head and it makes em look funny lol.
